PHONE CARDS FROM POLAND to N. AMERICA?

In N. America Polish food shops and delis sell phone cards which are unbelievably cheap. Thery vary in price but some cost only $5 and you can chat from a land-line phone for hours. I'm not sure if the signal isn't beamed by satellite to some cheap off-shore Caribbean site and then re-directed to Europe.

My question is: are similar cards available in Poland (Europpe) for cheap phone calls to N. America?

Last time I went to Europe, I bought a brand name card, I think it was AT&T or MCI. So I was able call back home from Europe using card I bought in USA.

I don't know about now, it was couple of years ago, but they gave you a list of country you are colling from, and what number to call to connect. At that time Poland was not on a list.

I was in France, Switzerland and Italy, and I had no problems.
