Food / HOME-MADE BLOODLESS, CASING-FREE KASZANKA (KISZKA) [4]

Do you know I am originally from Louisiana. Yes, I am a black guy, but I live here in a Polish neighborhood and I have fallen in love with the Polish culture. In Louisiana we have something called blood sausage which is made with pig's blood. You can't buy it in the stores like you used to when I was a young boy because the government said pig's blood had all kinds of parasites, etc so they had to quit making it, but you can still find cajuns who make it home. It was one of my favorite dishes as a child. My grandmother used to make it but unfortunately when she died the recipe went with her. I will check to see if I can find out some version. If I can, I will post it here for you all to see.

f they dont harm you - why go out of your way to harm them?

You don't have to agree with them or do what they do.

I agree. If they are not bothering you...what business is it of yours...so what if they have a parade. Lots of people and cultures have parades. If people would keep their own houses clean they wouldn't have time to be bothered by others

Food / Polish (but can be just any other) recipes for chicken dishes anyone? [23]

I have an easy one...being a cajun boy from the south...this is real easy for anyone starting off learning to cook.

#1. Take an iron skillet which has a top.
#2. Take chicken...your choice of dark or white or whatever.
#3. Take a medium sized onion and a medium sized bell pepper and chop into 1" pieces.
4. Season your chicken with salt or pepper(in Louisiana we used cayenne pepper for spice) and garlic powder.
#5. Now take the iron skillet and add a very small amount of water. You want just enough water to cover the bottom. If you've got a half inch...that's too much...just to coat the bottom.

#6. Take your onion and bell pepper and placed half of it in the bottom of the skillet
#7. Put your chicken in the iron skillet. Place the remaining onion and bell pepper on top.
#8. Take about half of an 8 ounce can tomato sauce and pour on top. Put the top on the iron skillet and cook on low heat for approximately an hour. Don't keep lifting the top to look at it because you will be letting the steam and juices out.

#9. When done...serve over white rice and have yourself a glass of red wine...
Ahhh,eeee!!!!

If you want to talk about REAL perverts, Grzegorz, focus on the Roman Catholic Church/Vatican. Send the abusive priests and their protective bishops/cardinals to prison. That is justice!

AMEN

i have never heard of any american being ashamed of being american because of ku-klux-klan.if you want to argue with grzegorz then use diffrent argument.

I hear Americans say all the time why they are so embarrassed by the Klan or Natzi's movement. The Klan is over 100 years old and still here; however, their numbers in America are believed to be less than a thousand. They once were so strong that it was believed that in the late 1800's and early 1900's one out of every three white males were members of the klan. it shows how people realized how ignorant they were and their numbers decline.

i don't support the way that the issue was raised but i can imagine where they were coming from.basically we don't want any cartoons/stories for children with gay episodes.i remember that (i think it was in spain may be wrong though) that a cartoon was to be introduced as a part of kids education called "Ali baba and 40 gays".why kids need to watch that sh.it?i wouldn't like my child to watch BOLEK kissing LOLEK all in the name of so called education.

Then don't let your children watch it. People are too concerned about other's business. Just because one doesn't like it doesn't mean it is the rule for all.

UK, Ireland / 2 years in London, maybe it's time to go back to Poland? [60]

One of my good friends just left on Monday to go back to Poland. I hated to see her leave Chicago, but she stated it was time to go. She had been here for 5 years and was like a sister. She told me I now have a reason to finally come to Poland.

One thing you must all realize...you create your own paradise...you can be in paradise if you're in a jail cell and have accepted the fact this is going to be your home. It's all in how you look at things

News / Dealing with constant insults against Polish [323]

I don't think jokes about any ethnic race is funny when it is demeaning. Even Ronald Reagan US President made a joke about the Polish during his campaign...and nothing happened to him. He would be crucified for it today. I think we all have to find the humor within ourselves, but to demean someone is another story.

Dariusz, it doesn't matter what another person does with their lives...I do suspect people are born gay. The more we learn about genes, etc...the clearer this picture will become. There are some people born with one blue eye and one brown eye...genetic flaw? Who's call is it? It's certainly not mine or yours.

Why on earth would a person just choose to be gay when they are going to be discriminated and hated just for being who they are? You think this is what they want?

I have black friends who told me growing up a child they wished they had not been born black because of discrimination and hatred. So, what makes you think a person would choose to be gay? They only choose to be who they are and not hide behind the shadows.

HIV and AIDS would not be as prevalent as it is if people didn't feel the need to hide and sneak around. Men who got married fully knowing they were/are gay thinking that this feeling was going to go away and 20 years down the road realize it's not going anywhere. They have messed up lives because of living a lie.

Throw all the rhetoric you want...the simple fact of the manner is this...everyone has a comment on everyone else, but their words and infinite wisdom need to used on themselves to make themselves a better person. That's a full-time job.

News / March of Tolerance in Krakow [478]

First, homosexuality exists since the beginning (it also happens in the nature between animals), so I doubt it's heading towards extinction.

Amen, Bratwurst Boy...homosexuality has been here since the beginning of recorded time...and the world ain't gone no where yet nor has the normal of straights being born. Even Alexander the Great was a homosexual. At one time, it was not even something that was regarded as negative...it wasn't until the advent of religion that it turned to something else...and people allowed(and still do) to be brainwashed by religion or by what someone taught them.

I mean the fact that it is not as predominant as heterosexuality kinda makes it pointless for the big conclusion to be that it's abnormal, that's pretty obvious, but so what? Isn't this thread about being tolerant of differences?

That's right and what's so ironic is I happened to be waiting at the dentist's office this morning and was thumbing through a magazine. The article which I didn't get a chance to finished talked about homosexuality. As I previously stated, it said pretty much once we get gene therapy down...there maybe a possibility of finding a gene that causes homosexuality. For example, there are genes which are passed down which they believe make a person fat. Some people no matter how well they eat, diet, or exercise are always going to carry a few extra pounds above normal. That is genetics.

The article also did a study on identical twins. They found that if one twin was gay it was over an 80% chance the other identical twin was gay, but when they did the study on fraternal twins(those who don't look alike) they found the percentage much lower...50% almost. This once again goes back to genes since identical twins are created from a division of the same egg during creation.

Therefore, as time continues to go by you might find you were wrong, the church was wrong, and so was society in their intolerance of people for being who they are due to factors beyond their control...genes.

News / POLES STILL NEED VISAS TO THE U.S.A!! [84]

This is about the third thread on this old topic the last days and they keep getting more aggressive and ignoring facts. This is NOT an anti Poland policy. Poland has to follow the same rules as anyone.

Every time this whining drivel is posted I will point out the facts...that Poland doesn't get free visa travel because too many stay illegally..more than the minimum. That is the only reason. It's not a conspiracy, it's not to snub Poland. Once the percentage of illegals is below the minimum Poland will be allowed visa free.

You know one of my friends told me the same thing. I wasn't even aware of a free visa program the United States had, but he essentially said Poland wasn't included because the people would never go back. I'm just finding out about this issue.

News / POLES the BLACKS of EUROPE? [104]

Dziedzic:
Comparing Poles to Blacks in a deragatory sense is whats insulting. If you want to call Poles the plague of Europe you should think again. Alot of middle easterns are taking over Europe and thats a fact.

I don't agree with the statement that poles are the blacks of Europe because it's one of those blanket statements uttered to cause distress.
What's depressing is that it causes distress. What's wrong with a darker person? Nothing at all.

I totally agree...it's a racist and hateful statement to be quite honest...by making a negative connotation and referring it to Blacks.
