Life / How do Poles feel about non whites/non Slavs living in Poland? [150]

Germany's job market is closed to the Poles (even though it's open to folks from The Third World - that's the German-led 'European Union' for you, Poles). Get your facts straight, ignoramus. But it seems you're too stupid to do that.

Look I'll do you a favour. I'm having a terrible time with my pipes - how much would you charge to pop round and fit a new set of washers? Cash in hand, no questions asked. Tell your parents you're going to the shops or something.

Mr.Bubbles: Prove it.

I've seen them with my own two eyes

Eurostat makes statistics for whole europe using one method.

Prince shows once again why he is never invited to parties

Why is there high unemplyment in germany and comparatively low unemployment in Poland? Because all the Poles have gone to Germany to look for work. duh.

Callan is a tempo method, others are timing methods where you try and stick to the alloted time.

What pseudoscience is this, Seanus? Callan, like all schools, is a moneymaking method. Saying that a Callanoid is a teacher is like comparing a McDonalds drone to a head chef. I feel disgusted just thinking of it.

Well uneployment in eastern Poland isn't that bad

Probably because all the young people have moved west to look for work, because they don't fancy milking cows until they're 70, when they'll probably die because the public health is so bad there

Learn history, ignorant Polonophobe

Look at a map sometime and see where all the industry is and we'll talk about this again. In the meantime Puck off, Fuzzler.

Look on eastern Germany with unemployment on 17% level and on region i live - Wielkopolska with 6% of unemplpyment. Germans in Poznań were dominated and lost economical war against Poles.

Bad eh? and sadly enough, it's still better than the east of Poland

A good example of what happens when blacks move into good solid white neighborhoods. The crime starts, first come the drugs, ...

Sorry - does the Ignac stand for 'Ignorant'? Do some reading before you start spouting off about things outside your village next time.

Kraków has never been part of Prussia. Warsaw as well.

Neither are logistical centres. Compare with Katowitz and Breslau. What's the new business centre in Poland? Posen. All used to be Germany. Look at the train network sometime. Face it, Poland owes most of its industrial and financial strength to being handed Silesia after the war.

The Callan stuff is good for getting used to teaching - and places less demands upon you as a teacher.

Strictly speaking though, that's not really teaching is it?

Life / Good Gym's in Poznań? [23]

I do not know what you mean with a chick's gym...

I thought it was just for women but I've just checked and it looks like you're right - Gymnasion is for men and women. Well, for people who like cardiopilates boxercise and yoga salsa spinning classes :)

UK, Ireland / ARE BRITS MEANER AND LESS HOSPITABLE THAN POLES? [79]

No it's not, that's what me and my mates do when we go out!

Oh oh oh! So it's not geeky because Shelly does it? Well I can see I was wrong - I take it all back.

Where do you go in the evening after your Dungeons and Dragons session by the way?

The answer to the round situation is to start a kitty.. everyone throws in a fixed amount and someone manages it til its run out, then you start again.

That's soooo geeky.

If you want to avoid big rounds, get to the pub at the front of the group and hold the door open - this way someone else gets to the bar first and buys the expensive first round. From then on, time your drink to end when only one or two other people have finished - unless you have a really greedy git who will ask for another pint when he's only a third of the way through his current one.

Study / TEFL Test Centers and TEFL blogs in Poland [7]

You want to do a CELTA? Maybe try getting in touch with Bell or International House - they both administer it - but as far as I know, the courses are in Krakow, Warsaw, Wroclaw and Gdansk.

There's also a Trinity ESOL course or something but I don't know about it.

Life / PESEL and the White Pages [16]

Life / PESEL and the White Pages [16]

I must "zameldowac" myself and need an ID card?

Well, I wasn't born in Poland so when I claimed Polish citizenship (Dad's Polish), I first received a letter confirming my status. You obviously won't need this if your birth is registered in Poland.

I live in Lodz, so my next stage was to go to my local 'delegatura' (local council) and 'zameldować (register). I had to show proof of residence and the letter confirming my citizenship. Christ the biurwa in the delegatura was a bitch. Seriously. She sat there with a face like an Easter Island statue with an arse full of razor blades. Anyway, after much crying and pleading, the cow registered me and I could move to the next stage.

Which was to go to the local 'Urząd stanu cywilnego' (USC - Registry of Births Marriages and Deaths) to register my Polish birth (and marriage, because I'm married). They processed my personal details for my ID card and calculated my PESEL, because, as you know, it's based on date of birth, sex and a couple of other things. Whether you're a homosexual / communist etc.

Yhen it was a short wait before I could go back to the delegatura and collect my card.

You should find the procedure a lot easier since your birth details will be in Poland. I'm assuming you're not in Poland at the moment? I would suggest getting in contact with the USC where you were born and asking them for advice, since as far as I know, they are the people who assign PESELs. Their number will be on the internet somewhere

I guess so - all Polish citizens have a PESEL number.

Have you been granted citizenship but you're not resident in Poland? If so, you need to register yourself 'zameldować' with the local authorities. They will take your details and give you an ID card. This can be a long process (depending on the bastard sitting opposite you in the office) so the more background info you can give us here the more we can help you.

Aren't we supposed to be trying to be a little more hospitable on this thread?

The first time I visited an English friend of mine I felt totally offended

diddums. go dry your eyes

In Poland, when you visit someone it is considered extremely rude not to let your guest into the house

Is that why when people ring your doorbell in Poland at 0700 they keep banging away at it until you answer?

Don't sweat it - Shelly's had a face like an Easter island statue with an arse full of razor blades since she found out I was taken. I suppose it's a woman thing.

Can somebody help me understand this guy please? lol

He wants to put his sweet love on you and then settle down and marry someone else.

Love / There are some good looking older chicks in Poland no? [25]

Wow, are you wearing your beer goggles? Few MILFs/older women look good in poland.

Well it depends where you look. Poland does have its share of scummy mummies and frombies as does any country but I am working with some fine looking over 40s. And that's older than me by the way.

MILFs in canada/usa (not sure about w. europe) are many times more attractive then their polish counterparts

Ok the US has Heather Locklear but what does Canada have? Celine Dion? Come on now. I appreciate you playing the Devil's advocate but you've got to draw the line somewhere.

you will not be sorry. The only problem is that few middle aged women in Poland go out on the town. They work during the day and stay with their families in the evening. I don't know what they do at the weekend.

what do the ten year old girls look like ?

Mini versions of justysaiS ?

More like mature versions :)

Call me an OAP-dophile, a granny magnet or whatever but there are some fine looking older women in Poland. A good diet and good genetics mean that the model that was popular in Poland in the 60s or 50s is in equally good shape today. Unlike the heffers you tend to get in the UK (rather like old British Leyland cars actually). Maybe Communism wasn't all bad.
