Real Estate / Advice on what Polish city to invest in.... [101]

you can't buy anything in Calgary now for $100,000 :)

my friend has a house in Edmonton, Alberta she bought it about 6-7 years ago for $150,000 now it is worth $600,000 . the market is red hot in Western Canada.

However in Eastern Canada like Windsor you can't give a house away. i have a friend there who is selling his house below purchase price.

Poland's real-estate prices will continue to increase as Poland's economy improves and as people's standard of living increases:)

Love / Discussion about Polish Men's Tempers [103]

life is too short to waste living in a state of fear and abuse be it mental or physical.

if he hit you once then he will hit you again.

Genealogy / Requesting any information on surname Mielniczuk [13]

Sometimes it is tough to find where a family comes from because the borders changed so much and surnames and town names often changed :)

often finding one's roots is not so cut and dry as saying you are Polish, Ukranian or Russian, because Lithuanians became Poles (Pilsudski family), Poles became Russians and so on.

For example take the case of Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky ( Polish spelling Feliks Dzierżyński), the founder of the Bolshevik secret police:)

he was born into Polish szlachta "noble family" in Western Belarus, then part of the Russian Empire.

News / I need Kaczynski's Email Address! [84]

FISZ,

you say American cities are safe? i have lived in Chicago for over 2 years and been to the south side numerous times and it is very dangerous:)

you are telling me it is safe to walk around in Harlem ? you must be very dumb:)

in comparison i can walk the streets of any Polish city , be it Krakow, Gdansk, Lodz or Warsaw and feel safe.:)
