Travel / Places to visit Poland for the New Year? [30]

n Sopot there is a water park ( though I dont know what it is like inside ),

i went to the aqua park spa a week ago - of a high standard and with a friendly relaxed atmosphere...

UK, Ireland / Polish night in an english club? No way....... [51]

any apartments you recommend bubba?

i go for cheap and basic as i tend to use just as a crash pad - internet access is the highest on my list of priorities...

sopot.net has some good places advertised on it - quite a selection of different options

again... im tempted to say base yourself in sopot, T - itll be much more fun, especially for little one as there is so much going on in the summer and youll be next to the beach etc...

if you feel like doing something cultural then head down to gdansk - its only 25 mins on the train - but if you want to just chill out with little one and take in the vibes then the vibes are more fun in sopot...

... and i still suggest getting an apartment... :)

How are you getting on looking for a hotel Telefonitika

i am so tempted to say go for an apartment if you are in sopot for more than a couple of days...

Spatiff sounds interesting, what sort of an entrance policy ?

if they dont recognise you, you dont get in... its up some stairs and you have to ring the door bell...

P.S.Anyone noticed how a lot of the bars in the old town are in basements - easily missed

if you are talking bout gdansk this is becasue of noise restrictions... which is why most of the partying happens in sopot...

couple of my regular haunts are papryka - a house down at the bottom of MC and turn left onto grunwaldska... live jam sessions on a wednesday night not to be missed - and mandarynka which is in the road opposite the cinema on MC... if you can talk your way into spatiff you will meet loads of locals but it has an entrance policy so it will help if you meet someone who will take you in...

How was it the three weeks ? bardzo dobrze or more

it got a bit mad at times... there is only so much partying a man of my age can take before he needs to chill out for a while... i left just in time but there are parties to attend at the end of march so i will be back to continue the adventure... :)

Life / Do they have a class system in Poland? [16]

is nara a rude way of saying hello?

na ra is a shortened form of na raze which is a perfectly accpetable way of saying see you later... i say it and no one has suggested i dont...

I noticed a lot of Poles I met in other places don't like people from Warsawa.

there is a lot of tension between warszawians and people from other cities... my friends in the 3city complain of an arrogance... but there is a similar attitude between capital and provinsal cities in most countries i think...

why dont you register Lee...? :)

Life / Do they have a class system in Poland? [16]

not sure if i want to make too much of class divides but 2 social groups that are growing in size are the young, upwardly mobile and the nouveaux riche...

there is still apparent poverty everywhere you look...

UK, Ireland / The un-acceptable side of new entrant countries coming to the UK [56]

they are now hinting that the "welcome" is wearing thin, and that ...enough is enough.

on my drive back from the airport i heard about 3 polish lads who had been set on in baisingstoke... no details... is this what the future holds...?

i think this is the article that you tak about frank... if others want to read it...

Travel / Airline ticket sales to Warsaw increase exponentially [16]

All I know is that when I had 40 Brits working for me out there for three years about 10 of them never came back. It even merited an entry in the project risk register.

would you care to expand on that szarlo?
