As for more recent times Poland has had the pleasure of communism! While the UK has enjoyed outstanding, although unbalanced regionally, economic growth!

Fight a long side us , so that we can live in freedom after the second world. Polish people lost their freedom as a direct result of the spineless political decisions taken after the war. Polish soldiers died on the battlefields of Europe so that their nation could be rewarded with an illegal communist system that ruined the country's economy and ripped apart, by use of secret police, the very fabric that binds a nation together.

18 years on?? maybe people should look foward and not back, look at Ireland and their economy and their past history...

Mind you, do you often see English people working in Chinese restaurants in England if they can not speak Chinese?

I suppose you dont see English working in Indian restaurants either, its nothing to do with language it would just look strange.

We're talking about every day jobs here and not ethnic restaurants.

Everybody looted - but lets face it as it's been said, had the Germans kept their mits of Poland (plus everywhere else) this would not have happened..

BTW my best friends mother is German, her parents came over just before America became involved, guess what their house was looted by Amercian soldiers....

So you see, everyone was at it...

As for jewish people being murdered by Polish people - I dont know, but the Germans certainly did their best to wipe them out....

The english are tought as children from a very young age (as soon as a child learns to speak) to say please and thank you, its not false, its the way we are brought up the same as saying excuse me when you want to get past someone. We have a saying in the UK, "manners maketh a man"

it was always viewed as a poorer relation to Manchester

Salford is a city in its own right and has always been seen a working class, salt of the earth kind of place until the last 20 years when it had become rundown and now developers are buying up the land and abandoned properties and starting a regen.

Lowry came from Salford :)

Manchester's metro is newer and mostly at ground level.

Its all over ground, it does run under a few bridges but never goes underground.

Does Your metro looks like london tube or they clean it in manchester? :)

Yes its clean but its busy.

You wont have any problems going in to bars etc. or even to your local for a quick pint after work
