Life / Is drinking water in Poland good? [96]

Is drinking water in Poland good?

Nope. Polish water, when consumed, mixes with Polish oxygen, when inhaled, and causes you to spontaneously combust. Defintely not something you want to happen.

:]

On a serious note, yeah it's safe to drink the water. Buy the water, don't drink it from a sink (I don't reccomend that anywhere, accidents happen and tap water can get contaminated) but the mountain streams are some of the cleanest you can find. Great stuff, Polish water.

UK, Ireland / The Changing Face of Scotland - we need more immigrants! [178]

Do your job well, that's all I want from them.

Just like God...you might be the new Dalai Llama Grzeg :]

But on a serious note, who gives a damn. Keep tradition, make friends, and be kind to each other. That's all that matters. You shouldn't have to integrate to be welcome somewhere.

That's the word I'm afraid of the most :)

You should definitely worry about haggis (sorry if I butchered the spelling) more than kilts....

One of the regular trolls is from somewhere in the north lands.

Gives highlanders a bad name....let's hit him with a shalaylee

Life / Brits moving to live in Poland [88]

The streets are safer, you can walk to work, children are not obese or spoilt and family values are still important

For how long?

Brits moving to live in Poland

Maybe if half the Brits come to Poland and then half the Poles go to Britain, Ponglish might become a universal language?!?!

Think about it.... :]

Fine examples of modern design in totally the wrong place.
It might be business, but I find it sad.

Historical buildings should be the number one priority when it comes to zoning. Would we really want to see sky-scrapers sitting next to castles? Sure it might be nice for a little, but the scenery would be nothing like it is now.

Keep the historical look of Poland, that's what has kept our national identity and pride strong for so long. Improve hospitals, roads, run-down apartments, non-essential buildings can be torn down, but keep the same look.

History / Should goverments pull in war criminals from WWII? [33]

Should goverments pull in war criminals from WWII?

It's too late now. Too many years have gone by to punish them for what they have done. War crimes shouldn't be treated like everyday crimes. What happens during war wouldn't necessarily happen outside of war. People like BTK can be imprisoned years after commtting crimes, but imprisoning someone many years after the war is just ignorant. War makes people do drastic things, and many, not all, can't be accountable for them so many years after they happened. 1 or 2 years after the war are fine, but over 50 years aren't.

Just my 2 cents.

News / A Pole to start the HIV AIDS epidemic? [52]

I know that there is a very high level of Aids in Eastern Europe and that Poland does have a higher than usual level

VS

His charts

Haha. My God. Talk about getting owned.

:P

that is becouse you are not inteligent enough

You have to be intelligent to be taught? How the f*ck does this make sense. Obviously your not intelligent enought to udnerstand what the hell you're saying.

The Poles always try to prove everything from figures and this proves nothing at all

Yeah.....who trusts math these days...

The fact is, Poland, being a third World country, is behind other countries in collating the statistics properly.

Yes. Poland lacks water, food, shelter, electricity, etc. Some areas might still be behind the times, but to say that the country is third world is just either plain ignorance or just you being a jag-off.

High levels of unprotected sex and drug abuse is common as well as, of course, alcohol consumption

Let's see the correctly collected data, seeing as we can't collect it ourselves because we are a 3rd world country.

Do you think before you post? Maybe you're an alcoholic and can't help what you post? Did you have a troubled childhood? Maybe you experienced something tramatic in Poland? Did you open your big mouth without thinking or being able to back it up, got your @ss kicked and decided to bad mouth an entire country for the rest of your life? If you really have nothing better to do than go online and berate people you don't even kniw, there's something wrong with you. You should find a hobby or possibly write a book about how abd Poland is. I'm sure the Poles and all their friends would appreciate you so much more if you give us data and statistics to back up your claims.

:]

but when

Exactly.....so you are saying that in order to not be considered a 3rd world country, said country could never have been 3rd world.

So the 13 colonies were always a superpower that they are today?

Great choice of wording.

Exactly, my point 'to a tee'.

....but nobody else masks the figures....just us sheisty Poles, right?

UK, Ireland / Are polish pupils harming native british childrens education? [280]

the point is the children can only speak Polish and the Schools have no funding for the influx of non english speaking children. That means ordinary teaching resources are having to be diverted from educating the existing children, whilst they are attempting to teach the other children english so that they can take part in the day to day lessons. This is a major problem and quite rightly exisiting children should not be put in a position where their education is severely affected by this. This Government should quickly identify the area's where this is happening and provide the necessary funds to assist. Headteachers shouldn't have to go and lobby for funds they should be in School !!

Well then that's the government's fault and not the immigrants'

The government allowed them to come in such large numbers without really thinking it through. Student's shouldn't be getting blamed for this.

Thanks for clearing that up. :] I thought he was just being a hypocritical @ss.

UK, Ireland / Are polish pupils harming native british childrens education? [280]

That's crazy. He was in bed and was shot in the groin. Poor guy was prob getting his groove on. Who'd think a shot below the belt would kill you...painful yeah, but death? He was rushed to the hospital too, so you'd think ther would be a better chance for survival.

It hit the main artery in his leg and he bled to death. By the time he got to the hospital he was already in critical condition with a slim chance of survival.

Are polish pupils harming native british childrens education?

No, if anything they help. Why? Fresh minds give fresh ideas (not always good ones, but the majority of the ideas that work are good)

If British children get to take Polish as a second language that is a huge benefit to them. Learning a new and complicated language stimulates the brain and gives children a higher IQ.

I don't think it's a coincidence that I speak native English and Polish, and am learning Spanish and happen to be in collegiate courses. I can pick things up quicker than my uni-lingual(if that's a word) friends.

I'd love it if my high school suddenly got a whole bunch of foreign students to learn with.

UK, Ireland / Views of Poles in UK on Bulgarians/Romanians coming here? [62]

Then it's fair to say that most of lithuania and bylorussia belong to Poland, along with parts of the Ukraine. It's a never ending arguement in Europe. Boundaries have changed so much in the past it's impossible to say which country owns what. It's not just Poland and Germany that have had border disputes.

News / Thank to Polish people for current relations with Ukraine [89]

Do we ever have a neighbor with never having problems with? :-)

If everyone was Ned Flanders from the Simpsons the world would be one giant perfect neighbor....

:]

when i was in ukraine i felt like at home.

Poland used to stretch as far as Kiev so it was kinda like an old home... (of course 99% of Poles know this, but I felt I had to say it non-the-less)

Love / The girl from poland i met ,i hope you dont meet a girl like this [59]

Don't we all just love threads like these. People have nothing better to do with their lives but google a Polish forum, and then, here's the kicker, they try to make Poles look bad.

How cool can they get? I hope I grow up to be as cool as them. :]

News / Man from Zakopane who cut off his own genitals [53]

I was just wondering if this is normal behaviour in Poland?

Yup, along with every single Pole who gets into a relationship with someone not Polish either cheats, dumps them, takes their partner's money, or sleeps with their brother/sister.

You know what the best part is? You get to read all about that here on this one forum! Isn't that great?!?!

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

I wouldn't know, but if you are serious about it, start oing your research.

Not if you look at the future. Europe will always be a safer bet for future generations. The US has a bunch of little problems that keep it from being a truely great country. The US government keeps trying to please everyone, while countries in Europe understand that the majority rules. Also, Poland just feels cleaner and more fun to me. I really don't see myself living out my life in America.

WHen it comes to Uni rankings US is the best thought;(

And when It comes to literacy rates, Poland is number 6th in the world with a 99% literacy rate, coming in second in Europe. It was on the news not too long ago here in the US.

Germany, France, and England are tied for first with an "imperfect" 100% (a few idiots here and there) Poland is 2nd with 99%, and so on. The US fell to about the 20s when it came to International rankings. It has its faults. But so does Poland. Nobody is perfect, but one cane be more fun than the other. :]

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Are you going to Uni?

Highschool. I was considering going to Penn State Park Campus, North Carolina, or Jagellion University in Poland when I graduate. I heard Poland could use quite a few architects who can use AutoDesk-AutoCAD.

Any truth to this?

If I ever get a dog I am going to name it Petrol;p

Nice. Maybe you can name him/her BP?

News / Poland's Growth Fastest in 10 Years [95]

Polish 303 squadron had more kills in WW2 than any other RAF squadron in the entire war. There are dozens of cemetary's throughout England devoted to Polish pilots. You should google it.

But this is about Polish growth, not pilots, so....

Sweet.......we're growin' :]

not really, I keep a low profile these days

Same here sadly. I've been kind of busy with final projects and exams to end this semester. I don't think I can take any more English literature. I've about had enough.

Are you being a good boy?

You know it. :]

I got a new dog too. Name him Diesel, like the gas, and he's a brown-tiger striped Mastiff. Funniest dog in the world.
