Food / Twaróg ser - serving suggestions [26]

How about cooking a baked potato and having it with that and some salad?

Good idea I have some spuds that need eating before they sprout... by the sounds of it you can use it pretty much like cottage cheese or creme fraiche

Food / Twaróg ser - serving suggestions [26]

I have just bought myself a tub of twaróg cheese (the creamy 8% fat variety). Apart from eating it straight out of the tub, has anyone got any serving suggestions?

The size of your wallet is more important than height.

Love / help dating polish lady [78]

and im going to learn polish

Good for you.
I speak from personal experience here and I'm just repeating what some other posters have said...
A girl with a boyfriend isn't worth chasing. You are likely to be the only one getting hurt. If you do get her she isn't trustworthy anyway.

I think you know this anyway!

Life / IS IT MY NAME DAY IN POLAND TODAY....? [73]

lately yes I do! did you notice? ;)

As a gold member I have "who's online" at the bottom of my screen.
It may seem like I am online all the time... This is just an illusion. I am in fact working right now...

but isn't confession supposed to be a private thing???

good point. (phew embarrasment spared)

Life / IS IT MY NAME DAY IN POLAND TODAY....? [73]

Maybe you should start a topic sausage!

I think there already is a confession topic. You have spent too much time away from PF... do you have a life or something???
I think another Catholic tradition you might want to avoid is the one where they don't party for a certain length of time before Christmas. Can't remember exactly how long for...

Life / IS IT MY NAME DAY IN POLAND TODAY....? [73]

you can choose the day of your name

you or the parents?
So I suppose in the case of my Kasia she has chosen one 7 months away from her birthday so that she doesn't get "combined" presents.

UK, Ireland / Cheap Flights on WizzAir.....is it a con ? [27]

you are allowed to carry aerosol products as long as they have been discharged at least once (if new) prior to packing in your hold luggage.

I really do learn something new every day. Thanks R. WizzAir's wording is confusing to say the least.

Your checked baggage must not contain:

Weird... they don't mention aerosols.
It is very confusing they say "must not"
Then they imply that these items may be in your luggage

Should your checked baggage contain any of the items listed above

Language / Whats with the Polish word: Po? [12]

And the rest 12? baloney

My dictionary lists 11. Not sure if they match the one's above.
I'm not sure if this is a valid one. Po="in the style of" / "done in a certain way"
eg. kaczka po Krakowsku. "duck Krakowian style"
My dictionary also quotes "up to" / "as far as"
po szyję - up to the neck

Language / POLISH VERBS RICHER THAN ENGLISH ONES!? [12]

Ok Polonius you are saying that Polish verbs convey extra meanings which would take extra words in English to convey. Verbs are the only area in which Polish is richer than English?

Travel / Ryanair cancelling flights to Poland at short notice [55]

Dont know why they have changed this

I read recently that RyanAir have dropped some routes because they can't negotiate lower landing fees with some of the regional Polish airports.
