Love / Moved to Poland to my younger boyfriend, now got sick; he's got a new one [194]

Give me a break Oprah.

Firstly I wouldn't share my life in such detail in a public forum. Secondly your attempt to reduce my views to reactions from personal experience are shallow. I felt this way about marriage etc before I ever tasted disappointment in my life...and as I said we all have. My views are based in my belief system about what makes people good...not in some bitter break up. I am rooted in it because all around me I see poor behavior and disrespect in relationships and it bothers me. I think people are becoming more and more selfish and I think this is a giant part of the problems in society.

Krakowianka & gtd, your moral absolutism sounds like a reaction to a bitter disappointment in a recent relationship.

Anything you might wannna share with us? :)

It couldn't possibly be because we believe this right? Plus who hasn't been disappointed in a relationship. My views have always been my views. You are making excuses for poor behavior.

My view is that when you allow for 'moral relativism' in this case you destroy the whole point of marriage and relationships. We get together to make life better...to share good and bad. There is no way 50% of marriages fail because of thing beyond their control. "Feelings change" is a common excuse you hear. Well sure they do about everything in life...but you don't just quit everything because it isnt pure pleasure. That is a childish and selfish view of life and not uncommon.

I knew a guy once who told me about his dad and mom...and how the mother got sicker in her 50s and wasn't 'putting out' a lot. So the dad being the virile stud he was just HAD to have sex...so he gets a mistress...and justifies this by saying that the dad still had 'needs' and it was selfish of the mother to not allow this as if she really loved the dad she would understand. What kind of utter sh1t is that?!?!Yet I have heard this kind of thing a lot...people doing horrible things and then making excuses to justify it. I pity his mother and think his father is a b@astard.

The people I know who make excuses and try to justify poor behavior in relationships are the very ones who have done such things and are trying to convince themselves and others it is ok.

There is no grey area when it comes to treating others with respect.

yet nobody sets about marriage with the firm intention of getting divorced later on.

Excuses...they set out not thinking and being all wound up about the new sex or novelty of marriage. Or they get somebody pregnant.

There is no excuse for saying to someone "through sickness and health etc" and then cheating on them or skipping out when you hit a midlife crisis.

I do not accept the excuses and way out you have presented.

But love/marriage is a one time only deal. You are to stick with it, not run when the tough times come.

Glad to see SOME people still think this. Most people I talk to these days are selfish and think that its fine to leave when you get bored or it gets hard. They think it is all about THEM and not about the partner and commitment. Love is not lust...lust wears out and love fills it's shoes. Love is effort and respect and doing things for others even when nobody is watching and there is not direct reward. Most people anymore are too selfish for this.

Life isn't as black or white as you might think though. There is an element of time that eventually wears you out.

Then don't commit to someone. People are not for your convenience as long as YOU are into it. Pathetic excuses for sh1t behavior. Dishonorable and sad.

If this were me, I'd throw a fit and let everyone know about the situation. Especially his family & the 20yr old. Go out with a bang!

I have to agree...in reality you are doing the right thing by letting them know. They are about to get scammed by this piece of sh1t who is planning a marriage and family based on lies.

he does love me

BS...pure BS. Nobody who loves you behaves this way. You are making excuses for him now because you really want this to be true. I understand we have probably all done it. But you know this in your heart. Get away from him he will never be loyal to you.

Today, 01:24 Report #10

Grzegorz_:

If you are going to find another guy, he can't be more than 2 years younger.

Does the same rule apply if the girl is younger than the guy?

I know several couples here where the woman is more than 2 years older than the man.

To the OP...two of the worst kinds of people are cheaters and users. You deserve better and the best solution has been said...get away from this poisonous person ASAP! Anyone who would do this to someone who is ill is a whole additional level of cruel as well. How any 'man' could suggest to someone that she stay on as a 'piece on the side' and shouldn't 'make trouble' is beyond comprehension. Personally I think he family and new chick should know what he has been up to but it would be hard to do without making you look like a nutter. People tend to stick to their own rather than the truth. So....just run.

News / NUDE BRITISH MEN RUNNING AROUND IN WROCLAW [82]

Class, what, you never did anything you could be a little embarrassed about?

I don't think behaving like that in public in any country especially your host country is right. It shows a profound disrespect for the good folks there.

On the same hand you have said he has been through a lot. Maybe he doesn't believe anyone cares...or that you would just cheat as well. I wouldn't say give up yet.

Life / I am in Poland on a tourist visa and have been here for 2 years.. [53]

I have never had a problem crossing with foreigners. It was fast and polite. I wonder where all this Gestapo stuff is happening as I have never seen it.

So you relish people suffering because of Poland's stupid bureaucracy? Nice guy aren't you.

IQ numbers are only important to MENSA a$$holes that want to try and impress each other. That and Doda apparently because every time here name is mentioned people say "Oh did you know her IQ is 160 something?" I guess she is good at taking tests too because she is sure not good at sounding intelligent.

This is obvious. You should not mention it.

I knew someone would take that out of context and try to insult me. The point was it is because of ONE thing...and that thing being I am good at test taking. That does not translate into real world intelligence and to use it as such is invalid.

Real world intelligence is illustrated in your accomplishments and actions not a standardized test.

Life / I am in Poland on a tourist visa and have been here for 2 years.. [53]

Ah sorry I didnt mean HERE as in PF. I meant in Poland. I have heard the IQ thing repeatedly for years. It does seem to be a big deal to some.

Also...IQ is just about taking tests. Mine is very high simply because I am good at taking tests...but I know some people who would probably fail an IQ test but when it comes to real smarts and application they could blow me away. IQ is not a big deal. I would rather have a low number IQ and the practical smarts of some villagers who can design and build a tractor our of old beer cans or something incredible like that.

a world wide IQ study has found that the average IQ in Poland is 109 and the average in the United States is 98 ... what does that tell you?

Wow I swear I hear this every other day. I have never been to a place so keen on telling you how smart they are all the time.

Why are you hiding behind a guest name? Its obvious you are a regular and its an anonymous internet forum anway...

Work / Secret Life of a Jubilat employee [3]

I have never even seen a Jubilat (are they all over Poland or just regional?) but the behavior you describe is the same in every single normal Polish shop I have been in from Albert's to the smallest Kiosk. The only places people are pleasant are the places where they sell really expensive stuff and they are playing the salesman game so it is fake anyway.
