Life / Will Poland become like the UK ? [93]

truhlei

Espana, is talking about the masses of Africans, Somalis and asians in the UK, they have upwards of 4 children because they claim bennefits whilst people like espana don't feel he can aford to have a family just yet, because he is busy paying his mortgage and tax and NI and pension and god knows what else - life in the UK isnt cheap if you work hard, so you will have to excuse him if he is a little bit angry at the fact some people come here - do fek all and manage to find the money to cloth and feed 4 / 5 kids!

Life / Will Poland become like the UK ? [93]

We are just stating the fact that we hope Poland doesnt become a shittt hole like the UK

I thought you were not trying to insult my country, but I think you have a couple of times, maybe think about your own country, where ever that maybe before you start attacking other countries.

businessman who employee such people and a corruption in police.

Very little if any police corruption in the UK - if anything far too much money is spent on community policing and liaising with immigrants.

Travel / Tourism in Poland the plus and minus points for the natives [38]

News to me, please provide the facts. what is your interest in this matter?

Every major UK airport has at least 2 deinstination, Poland has been featured on travel programmes and it has large spreads in magazines as "Krakow" as one of the most wonderful cities to visit.

My interest in the matter was see how the Polish feel about this interest in their country and to actually have a thread that didnt include "what a bloody man/woman wants" and something actually related to Poland.

Travel / How really cheap is in Poland? [37]

Really? Does she have any suggestions on where to shop? Will not have a lot of time in London, but would like to shop a little before I leave there.

Oxford Street, all the high streets shops are on their Ranj - here's an idicator on prices:-

A pair of nice shoes - between £40 - 60, a dress from lets say Topshop would be about £50 - 70 (dollar is about 1.85 to the pound at the moment)

Bonus is - all the sales are on the moment so you should get some really really good bargins and since the average size of a women in the UK is about a 12 / 14 you should have an abundance of choice in the 6 - 10 sizes :)

Ranj, drop me an email and I'll send you a list of places where to go :)

History / Unban - no, Mocherowy berety - yes. Opinion of a Moskal [20]

RAF fighter jets were scrambled to intercept two Russian strategic bombers heading for British airspace yesterday, as the spirit of the Cold War returned to the North Atlantic once again.

The incident, described as rare by the RAF, served as a telling metaphor for the stand-off between London and Moscow over the murder of Alexander Litvinenko.

While the Kremlin hesitated before responding to Britain’s expulsion of four diplomats, the Russian military engaged in some old-fashioned sabre-rattling.

Two Tu95 “Bear” bombers were dispatched from their base on the Kola Peninsula in the Arctic Circle and headed towards British airspace. Russian military aircraft based near the northern port city of Murmansk fly patrols off the Norwegian coast regularly, but the RAF said that it was highly unusual for them to stray as far south as Scotland.

Two Tornado fighters, part of the RAF’s Quick Reaction Alert, took off from RAF Leeming, in Yorkshire, to confront the Russian aircraft, after they were shadowed by two F16s from the Royal Norwegian Air Force, The Times has learnt.

“The Russians turned back before they reached British airspace,” an RAF spokesman said.

There was no evidence to suggest that the incident was connected with the diplomatic row over the extradition of Andrei Lugovoy, the main suspect in the murder of Litvinenko.

Do you really think they lost smth there?

I don't think they lost anything, but I think if they do it again they might do :)

Very few people in Russia are anxious about them

Nothing to be anxious about, we're very civilised in the UK and I dont think that we're going to start deporting people just yet

Did you hear about the the Russian planes flying into British air space?

Also kicking out our diplomats is not really the way to go, but if Russia doesnt mind being removed from visiting the EU thats fine but Im sure all the Russians enjoying life in the UK would dissagree, but hey!

Life / Toastmasters clubs in Poland [6]

In England at weddings they will employ a "toastmaster" he does speeches and announcements (not all weddings most people do their own, but the wealthy will), or if there is a ball / dinner dance of some kind they will have a toastmaster who will introduce guests and do the public speaking.

UK, Ireland / British taxpayers pay homeless Polish to go home. [184]

I also believe that anybody with a criminal record that could be described as 'a danger to other people' should not be aloud into the country either. We have our own rapists, murderers and armed robbers to deal with let alone the ones from eastern europe and asia or wherever.

here here! A friend of mine got put back on a plane when he went the states because he had a caution from about 5 years back (this was about 17 years ago) for being in possession of canabis when he was 14

Travel / Tourism in Poland the plus and minus points for the natives [38]

On the other hand in some small fogtotten town I could bet that a "stag party" wouldn't end up bloodless.

I dont think the English on stag doos go to fight, yes they are annoying but not violent. And I dont think any town would knock back the amount of money the English spend on these weekends, each person generally takes about £500 / £700 to spend for a few days....

No need to bring violence in to it G.

Plus - Polish people get familiar with other cultures and (hopefully) become less racist.

Im not sure that the Polish are particularly racist, but rather they have not been subjected to other cultures / races as much as some countries - and these other countries still have racist isssues, lets not forget this.

Travel / Tourism in Poland the plus and minus points for the natives [38]

However on the whole i found the people of Krakow to be very rude in most cases, for example, shops, on the street, hotels etc etc. Of course i'm not saying every Polish person is rude of course not

I think the Polish are just not as "flowery" as we are in the UK, they are more direct and less yes sir no sir, after a couple of visits to Poland I discovered that. However, the airports with Polish people (both their and and in the uk) I could have happily killed someone for pushing in or worse pushing me, trust me Im a lady but I wont be pushed!

I have said this before on other threads but I think that good service is lacking, if it had not been for meeting some people who informed me and my friend its best to ask for the bill if you are staying for only one beer / coffee when you get your drink, if you dont you end up waiting such a long time (we had already discovered this the day before).....but to be honest when you're sat in such lovely surroudings on such a nice day its not really the end of the world.

As you may see I can't find any problems.

I have to ask this, because its an obvious one for me, but dont the residents of Krakow get a little bit tired of stag parties, do you think that the City will try and discourage this? I personally would welcome it if they did.

Typical fees for dental procedures Krakow.
On average a dentist’s office in Krakow may charge 50 zlotys (an equivalent of about 13 euro) for a temporary filling and 100 zlotys for primary tooth filling. Teeth whitening may cost anything between 100 zlotys 1,100 zlotys depending on the method employed. Standard root canal treatment is 220 zlotys or so. A fee for broken tooth restoration with MOD-class filling ranges from 200 zlotys to 350 zlotys. Extraction of a tooth usually costs 100 zlotys, double the amount for the same with root separation. In most places muscle massage with laser therapy costs 50 zlotys for one visit. Firm implants start at 3,000 zlotys or so. A crown may cost anything from 200 zlotys for acrylic to 500 zlotys for cast gold to 1,000-2,000 zlotys for a telescope crown.

Hope this info helps. It's actually worth going to Poland to get your teeth done, a friend of mine paid about £800 for route canal treatment in the uk...
