Language / Polish Grammar In A Nutshell [19]

Working with trees means that I could get into more trouble than just using the printer at work for getting this lot down.

'Is that a wood-pulping machine in your potting shed there?'

I'll stick to looking at it on the computer screen.
It looks quite good. I've only read a few pages, but I already like it.

UK, Ireland / Bringing meat from Poland to the uk - is it allowed? [6]

The small, independent butcher's shop I use has fantastic quality meat.
Even the higher-priced, so-called high quality supermarket meats rarely come close.
If you know (or can afford) anywhere like that, go for it. No-one wants watery meat.

On the other hand, meat products that have been cooked, cured or whatever, seem to be much more of a local thing.
I would not be suprised if people wanted to go to Poland for such things.

Why he thinks everyone on this site is

a) from Poland, and
b) living in the UK

are questions that only a mental-health professional would be able to answer if he had one.
No brain - no mental-health professional required.
He seems content to portray the UK as being the least tolerant country on Earth, an image that does not refelct reality.
Maybe his country is not the UK, but just a small stagnant pond somewhere.

Life / How much do you HATE POLISH PEOPLE and POLAND [1260]

I once mentioned on this here thread, that a Polish man damaged my best non-stick saucepan.
Another one has done it this time - just casually throwing all the cutlery into it, including a couple of knives with sharp, pointy ends.

Grrrr.

Life / Poland, what a place [8]

Interesting story. I know it can feel a bit odd being dragged to Poland by some strange Polish people. I also know that smoking dope, although it can seem nice, can be a bit like wrapping yourself in a smoky blanket from under which that you can't see the world clearly. It can also make you as paranoid as finding yourself in a foreign airport with God-knows-who (or more likely, worse).

I'm always glad to hear from other people who have had positive experiences with Polish people in Britain. I am also glad to hear you have finished with smoking dope. Maybe if it wasn't for the experiences you have recalled here, you'd still be sitting on your own in the cloud of laziness that it can cause.

Good luck with learning the language.

starving such people of the oxygen of acknowledgment

We should, but it's not always easy.

Two wrongs don't make a right, so trying to verbally put the axe in to such a cretin is futile.

I shall now save my goats and ignore the troll.

UK, Ireland / United Kingdom versus Ireland - which one better to live? [19]

My brother (as un-Polish as I am, obviously) found settling in to a new job and new home in Ireland very easy. He made lots of friends and the people were easy-going and seemed to appreciate the people who were contributing to Ireland's new-found diversity.

He then moved to Merseyside, which doesn't seem to be nearly as much fun. I'd hazard a guess that the Republic of Ireland may be a little bit friendlier and more welcoming than the United Kingdom. The Republic of Donkia is a different story...

you rarely see a Polish person dating or marrying an English person, or generally interacting with them. Is it becuase Catholism does not allow this ?

The UK is approximately 14% Catholic. Catholicism is maintaining its numbers whereas other branches of Christianity are falling in numbers.
