Poland, what a place

well ive been on this website on and off now for some time and just thought id post my views on poland and its people....over a year ago i started to smoke pot heavily and my mother threw me out, i ended up moving into a shared house with 1 english guy a friend of mine and 4 polish guys, they could speak a little english but never did i did my thing they did theres, then 1 day after living amongst them for just over a week they could smell the pot from my room and asked me to get them some(little did i know this was going to open a completely new world fr me) we started to smoke together and talk together i used to help them with there english and the more i got to know these gys i could not believe the brotherhood they had amongst each other i was fascinated with thee people i had never really known anything about polish people b4,

when my englsh friend moved out another polish guy moved in i was the only english guy in the house living wit 5 polish guys in my own country most of my friends though i was insane the polish guys most have thought the same thing but thats why i think they had such high respect for me, i spent many nights talking and smoking with these people and i got a determination to start and learn their language i dedicated my dinnertimes at work to go to the library and learn the polish alphabet in order to pronounce words and get a better understanding of them, after bout 6months they invited me over to poland with them for a holiday i dont think i have ever been more paranoid about anything in my life i felt physically sick at the airport purely for the fact i have a few narrow minded english friends who got into my head b4 i went over..

when i got to Poland i could not believe my eyes i had never bee to a country like it b4 and the people were so nice and pleasant i was there for 1month i stayed in the homes of my friends the parents did not speak english and neither did their friends so it was a very hard holiday for me but it was definitely the best time of my life so far, i went to a wedding drank vodka till my liver almost collapsed (apparently i have a hard head) i was picking up words and phrases at a mad rate all the time i fell in love with a polish country girl who could only say yes and hello in my language i saw some of the best sights i think i have ever seen in my life and really did ot want to come back from poland at all i really fell in love with this country!!

now back in england clean as a whistle my friends are back in Poland but they have left there mark on me as im still learning this language and i now have a beautiful polish girlfriend who i met n my own town and at some point intend to return to Poland and leave all the narrow minded arrogant english folk behind.

Interesting story. I know it can feel a bit odd being dragged to Poland by some strange Polish people. I also know that smoking dope, although it can seem nice, can be a bit like wrapping yourself in a smoky blanket from under which that you can't see the world clearly. It can also make you as paranoid as finding yourself in a foreign airport with God-knows-who (or more likely, worse).

I'm always glad to hear from other people who have had positive experiences with Polish people in Britain. I am also glad to hear you have finished with smoking dope. Maybe if it wasn't for the experiences you have recalled here, you'd still be sitting on your own in the cloud of laziness that it can cause.

Dziekuje osiol your spot on there it was a cloud of laziness and pure amnesia, it has really changed my life going to poland i think if i didnt have that oppurtunity to go i would be in a gutter somewhere now tryin to score, really changed my life it is deinatly the best food i have ever eaten and i dot know why but i just cant seeem to get the culture ot of my head ive been to a few countries and worked in manchester city centre where i would talk to people from all over the world but nobody has had a impression on me like the polish, my girlfriend lives with 6 polish and i love spending time with them a suppose to my english friends abit obsessed realy lol but the hospitality is soo good they make e feel like part of their little family as all the polish i have met in england and in poland have, you wouldnt get it from an english family they would probably make you a cup of tea but moan if you wantyed more than 2 sugars in the cup.

My brother married a Polish woman in Poland. The wedding feast went on for three days with non-stop food and drinks. They really understand hospitality there and take it to a whole new level apparently! Glad your experience went so well.

although the people in poland are really nice the younger poles in england seem to have a different mentality as i am coming to realise, i suppose the problem is they got alot of **** offf other english people and some how feel they should try and take it out on the ones that are nice to them. but as the saying goes...THE NICER YOU ARE TO POEPLE THE MORE THEY **** ON YOU,
