Love / What's God's answer TO my gf, after cheating on me after 4 years? [65]

well mate. life has taught me that after a few pints it's much easier to release your tensions and placate your inner child. well, in theory at least. ive juts had a couple myself so i speak from experience. hic

anyway. the most important thing now is that you find the strength to reassert your masculinity. a few pints will help this. as will peeing in public. you might find that setting fire to something provides a thereputic release. this can only be a positive way forward

remember. if a woman gets the better of you then you are letting down the boys. this is obviously not a good thing and will have a serious impact on your social standing. at times like this you will need all the male company you can get. but obviously dont get overly familiar with your best mate or anything.

the best thing to do is have a few pints. this will help you see things more clearly. you will find that with a sterdy pair of beer goggles, things dont seem quite as unattractive as before. the same is true for women.

giving the local poopster a jolly good seeing-to will help you put things into perspective. it will also help you realise that quite often the grass is greener elsewhere. anyway. fruit always tastes sweeter when fresh. and there's nothing quite like a piece of fresh fruit.

peace be with you. and also with you

News / 7 Poles in a Fiat Uno? [38]

The only reason we can think of is because they want to save money

Poles live in different ways than we do in the UK. We clearly define what purpose a room has - bedroom, living room etc. but it seems in Poland things arent so clearly set out.

My Polish business partner grew up in a family of 6 in a 40 sqm flat. Sleeping arrangements were shared and frontroom became bedroom at night. He now lives in a large house with his wife and child and where they sleep is flexible. Most of the rooms have sofas that become beds and they sleep where they feel comfortable. I see this quite often.

I also have friends whose flats dont actually have bathrooms. Ive got one friend whose shower is in the kitchen. Which takes some getting used to

Work / Moving to Krakow to teach English, need more tips on life in Krakow [27]

Is it possible to be employed as an English teacher in Poland without speaking any Polish?

yes

How would you communicate with the children in order to explain things, with your colleagues in the staff room,

sometimes actions speak louder than words

with your colleagues in the staff room, how would you understand any forms you had to fill in, tenancy agreements, tax, medical things, the list is endless...

normally someone there to help with things. colleagues in the staff room would most likely speak english

USA, Canada / DO AMERICANS/CANADIANS TRAVEL TO POLAND???? [57]

of course it's all subjective and down to individual preference.

what would be the top 10 criteria you would use to judge one country more favourably than another

for me, weather is high on the list, closely followed by food. im a vegetarian so i look at the extent and availability of my choice. so whilst spain for example comes high on weather it falls down on food.

poland scores midrange on both - the summer is great but im not too fond of the winter. i tend not to eat a lot of polish food but at least there will be a vegetarian choice when i do

what are your criteria?

USA, Canada / DO AMERICANS/CANADIANS TRAVEL TO POLAND???? [57]

Visit Poland

i'll agree with you on that

there are some wonderful things to see and do in poland

but poland by no means holds the best that europe has to offer

if peoples' expectations are built too high, they will only be disappointed

everbody is entitled to an opinion. but holding an opinion doesn't make it informed or correct. i'll leave it. but thanks for the offer :)

USA, Canada / DO AMERICANS/CANADIANS TRAVEL TO POLAND???? [57]

The ugly, uninspired architecture of industrial cities you see in Canada and America is a result of their British influence as they were the dominant host cultures in both countries

this statement shows your ignorance of the evolution of English architecture and discredits anything further you may have to say on the matter.

Love / My polish g/f can be a nightmare,is it always like this [262]

fair dinkums

i would be very wary of the diagnosis however and wouldnt suggest mentioning it to the woman youre involved with - whilst the diagnosis can provide much sought after answrs for some, it can be like a death sentence for others. literally

does she 'split' btw?

moving rapidly from feelings of love to hate?

Life / Present for Polish friends ~ is anything hard to get any more? [57]

one of the business ops i looked at for poland awhile back was a fudge making operation with small carts selling the stuff at various outlets, shopping malls etc.

i foresaw my profit margins rapidly shrinking and my stomach rapidly expanding but the business plan stood up

Now i was chatting to my counsellor about this in the 2 sessions i have had (she deals with issues that affect you on that day) and she said she thinks my ex could suffer from "borderline personality disorder",

in all honesty, diagnosing someone with BPD is fairly extreme and by all accounts one that even many professionals are reluctant to do. i doubt your counsellor is qualified to make this diagnosis. it is also a diagnosis that tends to be made when people aren't really sure what the problem is

like many suposed personality disorders, the traits found in those with BPD can be found in most perfectly healthy people. BPD is also classified in different severities and at one end of the spectrum they are able to lead fairly normal lives. at the other end of the spectrum it's not much fun for anybody involved. and thats putting it mildly

Love / HOPPING AND HOLDING FOOT....WHAT DOES IT MEAN..? [18]

i also had a strange experience recently

i was sitting outside a pub and the waitress brought me the beer i had asked for. she then smiled when i said thank you

later when i asked for the bill she brought that too. and smiled again when i said thank you

i told her to keep the change and she did

when i left i looked back and she had come over to take my empty glass and clean my table

do you think im in with a chance?

USA, Canada / Young male American Poles [34]

probably somebody's dad

lol its almost as if youre suggesting that being someones dad is an automatic passport to respect.

doesnt that strike you as just a little bit silly?

Others dont have the right to free speech? Their own Opinion? A way to feel?

lol its almost as if youre suggesting that just because someone has the right to an opinion, the right to free speach, that this makes their opinion and what they have to say acceptable.

doesnt that strike you as just a little bit silly?

They have the right to speak, instigate, be abrasive, homophobic and racists.

are you sure about that Eurola?

some guy who named himself after a slang name for odors

VaFunkoolo- I just 'got' your name.

Vafunkoola is the name of a top polish DJ, female, and is obviously a play on words. as anyone who understands a bit of italian would know.
