Love / Are Polish girls charity workers? [132]

you know the funny thing sometimes in clubs its so hot the make-up goes all over the show, that could also be another reason for them going to the toilet, well that will teach them for putting fifteen layers on won't it :):)

However i'm still going for the drinks theory i posted earlier

Food / What Polish food or drink do you not like and why? [37]

When i was in my teenage years i used to have Tommy K wth everything, on whatever meal you could imagine, people used to go 'yuk, ketchup with that!!!' and i used to say 'yeah its lovely'

Now though i only tend to have it when its with chips, sometimes like you with pizza but that is only when the pizza is bad!!!

These days i'm a big curry fan :)

As for the Polish food, i've had it prepared for me, the guys who have cooked it have made fantastic meals, however the ladies fell down in that department and i don't think gave me a good taste of Polish food. Still though i appreciate the effort they made, that does not change the experiences i've had though!!! Mind you if the foods that bad you can always wash it down with plenty of beer :):):) dosen't matter what it tastes like then, hahahaha.

And on an unrelated topic...why do hot girls visit the toilet more often than less attractive girls? There're two girls sitting nearby...the hotter one is off every five minutes.

i think its because the hotter girls have more drinks bought for them :):) so therefore they need to empty the bladder out on a more regular basis :):)

Life / Are Polish people absolutely obsessed with money? [30]

Simple answer, yes i think they are, different people are driven or motivated by different things. I don't like to pigeon hole people and i feel i may be doing exactly that here, however my experience of the Polish is that they do have £ $ and Euro signs instead of eye pupils :). I'm not saying there is a problem with it, its just another driver or motivator.

this really does not need to be a debate, its just the views of one idiot, do people actually believe this?? I mean the guy must obviously be such a winner that he can pull the wool over everybodies eyes with his dazzling skills, quality and success!!!! ppppffffff

Love / Is Polish girls' beauty a myth? [78]

at the end of a day, beauty fades away and brain stays...
it looks like our world gets more and more shallow people every day...

i think a 'well said' is in order here, yet another pointless forum on the beauty of Polish girls, i don't think we have had one before :):):)

, but then you have to pay for gifts on facebook as well

i never have/will get the idea of the 'virtual gifts' If i want to send somebody a gift i will do it for real, lol. Is there something wrong with me or what??

If i want to show a friend i appreciate them, i may buy lunch/dinner, pints/drinks, tickets, etc etc, i guess that is old fashioned and out dated now!!! lol

Life / Why Poles don't use Facebook? [43]

Employers sometimes use facebook & myspace to find out personal info, regarding current & potential employees.

something i did not know, thank fook i don't use it anymore, although to be honest if their any sort of a company there are plenty of ways to get the info they want/require.

but drunken facebooking? ;)

OMG i probably do enough 'drunken' things without adding facebook to the list :)

it

it's a fact. scroll right down to the bottom of your homepage, and on the left underneath your friends' status updates you will see - most likely - English (UK). click on that and check out just how many languages there are.

i see what you and PD mean!!! they do have an extensive language section

i've seen some drunken polishforuming.... ;)

where??

Life / Why Poles don't use Facebook? [43]

It's a bit strange to check the site the day after a night out and find posts saying "Oh was out with PD last night, wicked." blah blah.

yeah you've just reminded me of something, there are those people who post their life story on facebook, for example:

11AM
'Got up late this morning as i had a mad night out, i'm gunna have some beans on toast with cheese, yyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh'

12PM
'Writting this damn covering letter for my application with IBM, ggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, i hate these things!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

1PM
'My phone keeps going off with messages reminding me of what i did/should not have done last night, why was i so bad!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH'

and so on and so on, that is probably just as sad as those who are using facebook when they are out, its like 'shut the **** up, nobody is interested!!!!' i just don't get it

They actually have a good language selection. Fair play to them on that. :)

well i will take your word for it

I know. ;) I was talking about the useful points of FB. :)

ok no dramas

Language / words overused in Polish language [40]

sarcasm tornado, sarcasm

Yeah i should have realised actually, you did put a smiley face after your comment!!!!

yes unfortunately kurwa is a word i tend to use a lot

i don't think your the only Polak who does this :):))

when i'm at work and have to deal with some seriously brain dead English people lol...

now now, surely its not just the English that can be brain dead!!! :) I'm not going to comment on the Polish assistants in a local M&S who can't speak enough English to communicate with their customers.............

Life / Why Poles don't use Facebook? [43]

I keep in touch with friends who live abroad though, and also when Polish friends visit PL they send pics, messages. Plus I caught up with a bunch of people I went to school with and this is significant because this year our school gets demolished...

hay i did say it was good for this sort of thing :) I'm on about the sad cases who sit on facebook talking to their local friends, lol, that is just so strange having like a 30 min facebook converstaion when your going to see them later. I can imagine for some people they talk and talk away and when they actually meet later that night, silence hits.

Facebook has language options.

ok fair point, i didn't know that, as i said i'm not a user so don't know even the bread and butter parts.

i only use it when i'm not doing anything else

I think that is probably the best/only time facebook should be used, i mean its hard to imagine that people pick spending time on facebook rather than doing other activities!!

and i'd definitely not be on it whilst out with friends lol, that's a bit worrying!

I know, i could not beleve it!! I thought that when people first told me about it they were pulling my leg, however i've seen it for myself!!

if you don't like the applications you can block them

again thats probably due to my ignorance of facebook that i didn't know that

Language / words overused in Polish language [40]

"dziekuje"

overused, probably not used enough :)

you forgot about proszÄ™ and przepraszam ;D

yeah lots of pleases so you can give me what i want, hahahaha, the same in all languages :):):)

I would also say that the Poles do not overuse the word 'przepraszam' either, Kurwa, yes but not sorry :)

Life / Why Poles don't use Facebook? [43]

I guess facebook is one of those things, you either love it or hate it, a little like marmite.

I think it takes over some peoples lives though, i mean at work, at home and even on nights out i see people on their phones facebooking people who are in the same club!!!! I mean what is that all about???

I do not have a use for facebook as i tend to write e-mails, texts, phone calls etc etc. Anyway all that time you could spend sat at home of Facebook!!! What is the point when you could be out with the same people or visiting them!!!

I suppose the only good thing about facebook is that you can find people with similar interests to discuss things with, i don't know, footy, make up, shoes or whatever. There is also the 'search' option which allows you to look for people that you may not have had contact with for years, pretty good i guess.

However my pet hate and reason for not using it is there is so much crap on there, i just want to send a message, i'm not interested in Zombie bites, facebook poker, roller coaster whatever its called, animal farm and all these other things.

Don't know what anybody else thinks but in my view its a bit overated and in a few years time will be sidelined by something else, its like any sort of fad, its around for a while then eventually drops off.

P.S.

I'm not Polish and i assume that as facebook is mainly typed in English, that there are other similar sites for our European neighbours.

USA, Canada / Why Americans think that nobody likes them? [185]

Someone could have said that you are sucking up to the stronger:) no offense .....

well to be honest i don't care about the stronger, as an individual its not like it matters what side it take, i could choose either and it would not make a difference on an individual basis.

no offense .....

none taken

How do you distinguish between jealousy and concern?

well the better question is, what is your concern?? or the concern of those who are posting??

Does it surprise you that those country's that make things happen are under scrutiny?

not really, what else are you to expect when your at the top of the world, even in sport the champions are always under the most scrutiny, why should it be any different when it comes to politics or world affairs.

They actions affects others, so the only thing they can to is voicing their concern - should they bow to the stronger in meekly submission?

well that rather depends on the nation dosen't it?? what else were you thinking of doing?? Its okay to disagree, i don't think anybody has a problem with that, at the end of the day though they can do shite all about it :)

way who is attacking US now that you are jumping out to their defense?

I think the US is under a lot of attack on this forum, i'm defending a country which is not even my own, i'm English and am more than willing to stick up for a nation that is surrounded by jealousy :)

USA, Canada / Why Americans think that nobody likes them? [185]

Of course, they lie. But you don't want to compare some weirdo dictator to GWB, Cheney and Rumsfeld, do you (cough, cough)?

well their your nationality representing your country?? maybe your in a better position to answer that, after all i think its a better of two evils :)

Why would I pick on the west? I'm currently living on the west coast of the USA and I'm really loving it here. But that doesn't mean that I cannot criticize my host country on occasions.

its easy to critisie your host, maybe one day you will do it to your own nation, i mean i could easily pick on a nation that i have lived in for years but was not born in, therefore not a citizen of that country.

USA, Canada / Why Americans think that nobody likes them? [185]

imagine yourself as a center of attention at a party... some will admire you, some will be jealous, some will hate, some will love...
the US is such a great country... look at its short history... some older countries didn't established half of what the US did...
there is a price for everything... and Americans pay it... tak czy inaczej...

i agree with you, its down to jealousy of those countries that have little or nothing, The US has achieved a lot and is a world power. People who knock it are usually those who are jealous and wish they were in such a position :)

I hate it when politicians openly lie to me. And look at the mess now - somewhat, Old Europe must have been right in the first place.

yeah and of course such great leaders as Saddam Hussein, mahmoud ahmadinejad and Kim Jong il never lie or distort the truth :) You can pick onthe west all you like but i see nothing better :)

Which is possibly why Saddam probably should have been left alone - the situation is hardly much better now, but at least he knew how to keep his people in line. All the Iraq war has done is swapped one devil who understood the culture, for a devil who doesn't.

to be honest though, who cares if the Iraqi's are killing each other over religion, does that not show how stupid and inept they are??? Let them blast the shite our of each other, then maybe we will end up with the 'real' Iraq, where people can live in peace.

USA, Canada / Why Americans think that nobody likes them? [185]

I do love it when peopel gang up on the more powerful nations, its almost like they are jealous that their country does not have the same power, i find it sad that people need to pick at the US and other nations for trying to keep the world in order. I mean lets be honest there are not many other nations that could do it, in the least Poland, the US is an easy target for anybody who wants to attack it.

I see people attacking it all the time, well all i can say is at least they are making the effort, more than can be said for the rest of the world, who would lie down to the dogs of the world. You carry on in your idealistic lives, thats all well and good until it affects you, then you would scream blue murder if thousands of your citizens were killed.

Whatever the US does in response to any terorist attack is fine by me, it just goes to show that that country should not have messed with a bigger, more powerful nation, everything has its place in this world, there are just those who cannot accept it.

as for WMD, lets be honest, of course there were none. At least Saddam was removed, its not like its the Allies fault if the rest of Iraq cannot pull together, let them kill each other. Its over religion and rubbish like that, when all the stupid people have killed each other that will leave the ones who can live in peace. :) Not a bad thing if you ask me.

History / Who lost WWII (besides Poland)? [42]

There's also a lot of people being whingy about those whingers I suppose :)

i can accept that point, its a pretty fair comment actually, how else could i have put it though??

It's easy to summarize like that "everyone lost" but you can summarize each thread like that "politics" - "pliticians are liers eot". Maybe somebody wanted some more precise detailes than "everyone lost"..

i guess thats down to the OP, what he/she decides to post and what points he/she wants to bring up or even create.

Beside there was so many threads about Poland during WW2 created by whingy Poles that somebody finally named one "beside Poland" to underline that fact that he doesn't want to hear about Poland in this thread.. ;)

You did a good job of turning a negative into a positive there :) i like it

History / Who lost WWII (besides Poland)? [42]

I think you're slightly exaggerating.. he just started the thread and stated that he doesn't want to talk about Poland, just about other countries that could have lost something due to WW2. It looks more like you are a little bit biased and allergic to word "Poland". Come on, what do you suggest we should be talking about in a ww2 thread.

talking about the war is fine, there is nothing wrong with that, however like you said the name of the thread does not help 'who lost WWII (apart from Poland)' lol i think that is my point, why could it not have been 'who lost out in WWII'???

Yeah, All conflicts were about having a coco and visiting theme parks... I dunno where those sad stories are coming from... I'm pretty sure you can bring something valuable to this thread instead of being whingy : o

instead of being whingy, that is laughable considering what a lot of this forum is 'Poles moaning' lol, i'm sorry but i do find it funny you calling me a winger when there are so many on here doing that all the time.

As for my overall contribution to the forum i think you'll find i do an awful lot more than moan :) As for this particular thread, there is one obvious conclusion 'Everybody lost'.

History / Who lost WWII (besides Poland)? [42]

Funny...

the sad thing is though it should not be funny, its funny because you know nobody is going to say that and mean it, just goes to show what the Polish (representation on this forum) are like in general, or at least what they show us here.

" I like the dreams of the future
better than the history of the past". -Thomas Jefferson

yeah i like that one, If Poland were a business, it would have it as part of its mission statement :)

how true. Nothing really more to add to it.

I know, its rather sad really, things should be changing/moving forward, however it seems a lot of Poles are stuck in the past with UMP gunfire rattling around their heads.

History / Who lost WWII (besides Poland)? [42]

Who lost WWII (besides Poland)?

How many more of these 'we were the victim' threads are we going to say, its almost like the Poles just love the attention and think the whole world should feel so sorry for them. Nothing can be done about the past yet you still bang on about it so much, its like Poland has nothing else to offer apart from a few sad stories and 'victimisation claims'

I bet you there are more nevagtive than positive threads about Poland on this website, its about time people looked on Poland in a more positive light instead of this trash again and again. If its not Poles copping it in the war then they are getting bullied in the UK, if its not that then their not allowed into the states. How about a few success stories, looking to the bright future, etc etc?? wouldn't go a miss

I've probably just proded the hornets nest, however i think the reactions may prove my overall point :) All i want to see is somebody to say 'actually yes, your right in one sense, why not look forward (or more positively) than in this continual negative fashion' I've just been down to the bookies for the odds.....................

Thanks
