Real Estate / Łódź Housing Fair TabelaOfert.pl May 19-20 [9]

I think there is another one in September,

You will find these fairs in other cities too. If all the major players attend, then you will still get info on Lodz. I think the Wroclaw fair was earlier this year, but I'm not sure.

Life / What kind of Internet Connections in Krakow [4]

You might find yourself in a 'hotspot' if you are near the centre. Then it might be free.
Otherwise it will be ADSL / Broadband. Paid monthly but under contract. Neostrada is what you want.

Real Estate / buying for rent vs Polish way of living [4]

Students who rent are usually from out of town. If the universities built more accommodation you would lose this part of the market.
Don't think about students. Think about renting to business people.

Patrycja19,

I have sent you a PM on the subject.

Life / Priests in Poland [28]

lef,

I think that part of the problem is that Genealogy and the way the church works, are not compatible.
Some priests here can be a pain in the butt. They want every last detail from you when you get married etc, but they won't give anything back.

Church records need to be put into the hands of other organizations. Much like they are in the UK.
Genealogy worldwide is continually growing and it is a way of bringing people together. I would have thought that this alone would be good reason to help.

Real Estate / Wroclaw real estate prices and agencies [17]

Smokeyone,

Don't give up hope. There are plenty of new buildings going up within reach of the centre.
If you want to know about a particular district, just ask. There are plenty Wroclaw folk on the boards.
There is some good info hidden in the property threads.

Real Estate / Wroclaw real estate prices and agencies [17]

We've seen on here that about 7,000zl sq m and upwards is about right.

In Rynek: Nothing cheaper than 25,000zl sq m. And that's last year's prices.

We have good communications in this city. Why do you have to buy in the exact centre ?

UK, Ireland / Polish Sperm donors needed in London [19]

With DNA banks everything is now possible.

They don't need DNA. The agency just hand over the details. That's why poster number one has a problem.

Travel / Vacationing in Poland: Where to go, What to see, and What to expect [16]

Loth Hall,

cloth market. I think.

Typical, just like any other article on Poland. No mention of Wroclaw. 3rd or 4th biggest city in Poland and it's like it doesn't exist. Also, If Krakow has the largest town square, we have the second largest.

Life / Polish Music Scene [9]

Wroclaw seems to have a lot of music festivals, music of various types, so you might find something here. Also, there are some recording studios, so again, Wroclaw might be worth a try.

I think poster 'glowa' is the man to talk to.

There is a chronic shortage because the men involved are no longer anonymous. They may end up paying for it long term.

Life / WHY IS POLAND SO DIRTY ???? [44]

True.

There are many old buildings here with WWII bullet holes in the brickwork. They are slowly being repaired.

Love / Polish attitude towards sex [194]

guys n gurls should use that as a last thing in the relationship..

Not should. We all have different ideas of how a relationship should work. What is important is finding a partner who shares your views on such matters. I'm sure there are many couples who can fcuk 'till eternity and still have a stable, commited relationship.

Life / WHY IS POLAND SO DIRTY ???? [44]

I dont know if this is always been the process there, but here if you get caught
its a hefty fine here..

I just asked around. There is a fine here. No-one [I know] has any idea what it is.

have these schools gather for a clean our earth day, and walk to those areas which are the most littered and clear it away :)

We have this here. To be honest it is the last thing I want my kids doing. The local council should be cleaning up. Better still, those who drop litter and are caught should do it. If it were treated as offence then we might see progress. There are other problems. Bins are not emptied as often as they might be and a lot of litter in the mountains comes from foreign tourists. To preserve the natural beauty of mountain areas, there are no litter bins in some places..

In Wroclaw, which I think is a clean city, the problem of litter seems to be getting worse even though in some places there seems to be a bin every twenty-five metres.

We somehow have to control the modern lifestyle.
