USA, Canada / The 2nd Amendment (USA), the right to own guns [261]

A sharp tongue does not mean you have a keen mind, don't let your mind wander

your thoughts are that of a liberal, you have not evolved yet

Sharp tongued? Well evolved? A wandering mind?

Life / What is the Drum n Bass scene like in Poland [13]

a guitar sounds like a guitar, no matter what you do with it

Not true.

Witch computers, samplers, etc. you can virtually create every instrument there is

When sampling, you're not actually creating. Computers can do some great things, but if you want a guitar sound, use a guitar; if you want a thumb piano sound, use a thumb piano; if you want a kazoo, seek psychiatric assistance.

Drum and bass with real instruments can be very good.

USA, Canada / BILL CLINTON - what do Poles think about him? [25]

You seem so obsessed with Bill maybe you want to give him a bj

Liberalism allows you to make statements like this.

a rational question

What's your favourite colour of crayon?
How about that one then?

Life / What is the Drum n Bass scene like in Poland [13]

So, is it that Drum & Bass isn't big in Poland, or is it just not as big as it used to be?

I can listen to it without being on drugs and I'm sure others can as well

Tried it both ways. I prefer life without drugs, even with drum and bass.

we have enough with all this tecno crap

Drum and bass is not actually techno.

try making some rock music

No. Better still: drum, bass and banjo - bluegrass hardstep.

Life / Can you have guns in Poland? [25]

Australia got rid of guns. Crime doubled!

Guns were made illegal, so a huge load of gun ownsers suddenlt became criminalised, therefore crime went up?

Life / Polish attitudes towards drinking alcohol [72]

ect ect ect

Electro-convulsive therapy?

Actually, one of the most common adverse side-effects would be lethargy.

and example of this would be excessive use of etc.
etc. etc. etc.

Life / Polish attitudes towards drinking alcohol [72]

But how many actually do?

people after few years of heavy smoking will always stay freaks

Utter bollocks.

Life / Styles in Poland: What do people wear? [65]

If I say something about green being a good, neutral colour for those of the equine family, will you tell me that they only see in black and white? Cause this particular donkey can see in infra-red, ultra-violet, and even occasionally FM radio.

Maybe they think you're a carrot?

This can put your very life in danger. Only the threat of a stick can ward off this kind of harm.

some charity shops in UK

They seem to go through phases - sometimes they can be good. At other times, there is absolutely nothing you'd want to be seen in. Especially the china tea sets and fair-trade teabags and other stuff they sell. Put the kettle on! Nah - doesn't suit me.

Life / Trance music (which i love!) seems pretty big in Poland??... [67]

No - it just became illegal - you know what those ravers could be like back in the day (and maybe even now) - they get to the stage they dance to anything polyrhythmic - hooves included. I preferred drum and bass anyway - those humans don't really have enough legs for it. Then again, the Melbourne shuffle doesn't work on four legs.

Language / What does "czy" mean? [37]

questions starting with the word "czy" can be answered with Yes or No

'Tak' albo 'Nie'... or 'Może tak, może nie' as I often have to say in repsonse.
Perhaps even 'No' - the Polish one, not the English one.
Must learn how to say 'It depends on...'

Law / Making proper sausages (ex-pat expers in Poland)? [32]

I did once have a sausage I put the fork in and up came a fountain of watery grease.

Anyway, after a hearty breakfast and four hours hard work, I do need a light lunch - ideal time for kiełbasa.

But could there really be much of a market anywhere in Poland for the traditional British sausage.
From my observations, Polish people make the mistake of comparing the two things,
and inevitably saying that theirs is better, which in a way, it often is!

apples and pears

That's one way of putting it. Unless you really are just referring to stairs, in which case... No.
You spend your bangers and mash on what you want, just don't spend it all in one bottle of pop.
Or you spend your Crosby, Stils and Nash on what you want, but don't spend it all in one bucket and mop.

Life / Racist violence in Poland [172]

everyone stares though

There must be plenty of people who only ever see a black man with his voice being spoken over by a lektor.
Oh! Or people like Tupac (not that he visited Poland very often).

Law / Making proper sausages (ex-pat expers in Poland)? [32]

I'm just cooking my full English breakfast with the finest quality English sausages. My butcher has a wide choice of hand-made sausages - traditional ones both more meaty and more rusky, pork and leek, guinea fowl and ginger, Lancashire, chilli and garlic, wild boar and apple and one or two others.

Anyway, I will be interested in how to make kiełbasa, but only once I have finished building my smoker. I reckon it will be complete in about three years time judging by the rate I'm working on it.

Language / What does "czy" mean? [37]

Sorry - I edited my answer back in. I got all confused!
You may wish to use the edit feature yourself! edir: I'm always editing! I'm not having a dig - just now I've answered the post with just the word 'What?' may look a little out of place!

I'd hope some real Polish speakers might get involved here - don't listen to me, I'm a donkey.

I'm not sure about Czy to jest żona... either.

Czy to jest bardzo stara ale bardzo ładna?

If you're tryiong to say: Is it very old or very pretty, then ale should be czy.
Otherwise, you might be right, but I am a simple beginner (how long have I been saying that?)

Love / What make Polish girls better than American girls [106]

Fewer Mc Donalds in Poland

I reckon that does make a difference.

how are they different

Different cultures have different standards, different way of doing things.
I look at America as something a that's a bit weird on not the kind of thing I'd want to have happened to me.

Poland is a bit more different to what I have experienced again, only I find it more interesting.

I'll have to wait until not only has my flatmate got his sister a job at the place where we work, but also until I meet an American girl for comparison. There is a mysterious lack of Polish girls round here, and a much less mysterious lack of American girls.

Language / Learnign Polish...any tips!? [33]

The nominative, found as the dictionary form is the first, and often only one you find.
The plural of this and of the genitive, used in counting is fairly easy to come by.
The vocative (said to be slowly disappearing) is a good one to work on if, like me, you have someone around you can call various (often unpleasant) names without them minding.

Beyond that, working through the language case-by-case, gender-by-gender, tense-by-tense is the way I'm trying to do things.
This all falls down because to engage in conversation, you'll need just about all of these cases, tenses and so on. And a shedload more.

i'll just speak to English friends in Polish, you never know, might even teach them a thing or too

They won't know how bad you are. They might even think you're really good.
