yes your right the British do have a good sense of humour, we love ripping out of ourselves and everybody else, although i've got to say you could at least come up with your own humour instead of relying on inaccurate false websites :) Its called being imaginative something that you are not! LOL :)

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

I know my place...I'm ugly...I'm no fun...women don't want to be around me, I'm the archetypal loner.

No offense mate but you need to buck up and give yourself a slap round the face and sort your SH*T out. If you continue like this all girls or women will think your a looser, but really your not!!!!. Everybody has something about them that is attractive.

You have to look at the positive side of yourself because if you don't then who the hell is going to. Come on wake up, its all well and good moaning but imagine all of this effort you are using complaining or been down in the dumps, if you used it to get out there then you would probably have no problems at all.

My mother used to say to me 'you get back what you put in' so the more effort you make mate the more you will get in return. :)

Love / Getting my Polish girlfriend back?? [32]

now i feel that life has played with me and i feel i am a looser in life because i love a girl who hasa child and a boy friend...

mate feeling like this will get you absolutely no where, you need to move on and learn your lesson from this episode, after all 'its the mistakes that make the man' so remember what happened and accept the fact that 'yes' you have been played and 'yes' you feel like an idiot, then move on, go out have fun and you'll meet somebody else who probably will treat you better and with more respect than the previous girl

there is no point hanging around thinking about what has gone wrong and feeling sorry for yourself because while your doing that the world around you is moving forward, you simply have to go with it, there are plenty of other girls out there for you mate.

Put it this way at least you will know some of the signs if their playing you around :) THINK POSITIVE

Love / Getting my Polish girlfriend back?? [32]

LondonBoy:

To be honest mate she may be playing a game or on the other hand she may be generally interested. the whole eye contact and gesture thing is to see your reaction so she can gage how interested you are. there are two possibilities:

1. She is genuinely interested in the possibility of getting back together and forming the relationship again

2. She is merely just teasing you and saying 'well look what your missing out on' girls like to feel that they have control over a man sometimes

Whichever case i would advice against doing anything rash like asking her out or having a talk. Wait for her to act, it will be the thing she expects you to do least, then you may find out her motives for this eye contact stuff at work.

Love / I've met a Polish girl, and have feelings for her... [44]

HI Reece,

Tonight should be the final time before you make a decision, i have read all of what you wrote and i can see that you obviously like you and that she kind of likes you but is either not willing to commit or just doesn't want to commit to a relationship.

The best thing to do is be honest with her tonight when you actually get round to talking about the important stuff. 'What happens next' lay the cards on the table and say 'this is what i'm looking for and so on and so on' then sit back and listen to her reply. If she is willing to comply or go along with what you want then bingo you win first prize, however if she doesn't want to lean the same way as you then its time to move on with your life, there are plenty of other nice ladies out there who i'm sure will be queing up for you if you 'sexy'

I'm sure you know and understand as you sound like a down to earth guy, you can't force the situation into something you want, even if she went along with it at first eventually if she was unhappy it would all fall apart. Its better to bite the bullet early on than later. Believe me its better to swallow the sour lemon flavoured drink now than the hydrocloric acid when things go tits up.

Good luck tonight mate i wish you all the best :)

i would be interested to hear the outcome, either positive or negative

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

This isn't mission difficult, its mission impossible. 'Difficult' should be a walk in the park for you.

Ken,

With the greatest respect to you mate, you need to stop feeling so sorry for yourself and get out their in anyway you can instead of sitting on your backside and telling everybody about the problem. If you want to find a girl there are ways and means of doing that, there are always people out there who are willing to talk to you and will accept you for who you are, if they don't then they simply are not the girl or woman for you.

Place yourself in situations where you are going to interact and talk with woman, at first you don't even need to be out for a girl, simply talking and socialising to raise your self esteem and confidence. After that you will be able to speak to woman and i'm sure show them what a pleasant, decent guy you are and that to be with you will give them something that nobody else can.

Sometimes finding a partner is difficult but don't let it be because your sitting feeling sorry for yourself and saying, 'i'll never find a girl' or 'nobody is going to want me' you've got to take the steps to negate that negative feeling that you have about yourself. Believe me if you doubt yourself then so will the Girls, who wants to be with somebody who does not believe in themselves.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but let the real 'KEN' come out and play and i'm sure you'll suprise yourself with the amount of attention you will recieve and eventually you will find the right girl and even if not you'll take experiences from those relationships that go a bit pete tonge!!!

anyway good luck on your quest, sorry there angel eyes didn't mean to but in on your mission, please proceed as before :)

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

I might as well thrash this one out while i'm here too:

BEING SINGLE:

GOOD POINTS: not having to be responsible for somebody else's feelings or emotions etc etc, I can do what i want when i want, I have no added responsibilities or pressure from a girlfriend, I can make decisions without having a direct effect on a potential girlfriend, I can do my best in the final year of my masters degree without distraction both good and bad that a partner might bring.

BAD POINTS: there are those times when i sit down and think to myself something is missing in my life, sometimes feeling lonely, not having that special somebody to confide in talk to or hold at the end of the day.

BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP

GOOD POINTS: The company, The emotion feelings, knowing that somebody really cares for you, having fun with your partner, Doing the silly things that couples do, sharing things that you couldn't share with anybody else.

BAD POINTS: Sometimes restricts my activities, when things are bad the rest of your life is affected.

Thats a very watered down version but hay its only personal feeling on it :)

Love / Getting my Polish girlfriend back?? [32]

LondonBoy:

Hi mate i really feel for you, its hard when you have something you love and then all of a sudden you loose it, i know exactly how that feels. However something you can do that i failed to realise needed doing, MOVE ON, its really difficult and i know its easy for me to say but really if she has left you then something was obviously wrong in the first place. She has probably made the decision already to move on and now its your turn to do the same.

Obviously your paths may cross again and things may be different, but until that point you need to focus on the rest of your life or you could get stuck in a rut.

I hope his was helpful

USA, Canada / Americans who call themselves Polish - how do you feel about that? [112]

well its simple, there are all sorts of cases where people are born or live in another country where they have either settled, been born into or adapted to the language and culture of that country and call themselves polish etc etc.

It rather depends on the individual, If somebody Polish moves to England then i would expect them to say they are 100% no matter how long they have lived here. However if they have children then they are considered English in British law and also Polish, so they would have duel nationality.

If i moved to say Poland for the rest of my life tomorrow, i would learn the language but always remain and call myself English, if i had children in Poland then i would teach them both the Polish and English cultures as they would be a duel national.

I would hope and expect all people from whatever country to do this in my country. its nice when you are speaking with somebody, lets say in this case Polish and they can talk to me in english, it makes me feel like they are making an effort to adapt to the English culture and generally communicating with the inhabitants of their adopted home.

sorry if my words seem rushed or un educated, i'm a bit tired tonight :)

Feedback / I'd like to share my views with you all about this forum [5]

As i'm an open and honest person i thought i'd like to share my views with you all, please read the whole thing before replying as you may mis-intemperate or mis-understand what i'm saying.

Before i found this forum i used to think that such things were for people who had nothing better to do with their day, for example, geeks, people with no friends, jerks and general bums, and that it was just somewhere for them to vent their anger and frustrations etc. well to use my own saying 'assumptions are the mother of all F**K ups' in this case is write as my assumption was completely WRONG and IN-JUSTIFIED.

Since i found this forum i have not been a regular as such and tend to make contributions about three or four days apart as i'm generally busy with sports, work, university etc etc and can hardly call myself a regular on here compared to some of you.

Anyway this has convinced me that forums such as this one are actually very good, it gives me a chance to, meet new people, learn new things, discuss anything with people from around the world and generally chat with people that if it was not for this media i would never have spoken too.

I think half of the fun for me is speaking to everybody and having to imagine what you are like individually as i don't actually see or hear you. (In most cases) which is different from been face to face with your usual mates.

So what i'm saying is thank you to you all for making me feel welcome and making me realise that forums such as this are actually good, as well as speaking to people, normally, deep or whatever i even enjoy those who have a different opinion from myself, so to all those who have slagged me, slated me, called me names thanks too!!!!

I don't know what i'm expecting in reply and if anybody else has ever thought of it that way, i guess i'll get a few nut jobs saying how sad and deep i am but ow well thats part of forums :)
