News / Will economic crisis hit Poland? [38]

FUNDING FOREIGN DEBT (EUR, USD, JPY, CHF..) became literally impossible as nobody is willing to lend.

Yes,but why does USA which has the biggest debt not face such problems? What are the deals behind these debts?
For example has anyone told Hungarians that their GDP increase and increase in living standards is due to heavy borrowing and not to real increase in productivity?

I mean who is going to make us rid of this mystification?

News / Will economic crisis hit Poland? [38]

In Hungary public debt is 60% GDP whereas in Poland it is 40%.

Is this difference of 20% enough to explain why Hungary needed 20 billion $ bailout and Poland not?

The Baltic states, although having troubles as well, have very little public debt and public finances are solid.

Yes,but Latvia is on the way to collapse.Something is happening there.

The Economist

Did the Economist predict the crisis? How is it possible that anarchists through indymedia have writen the last year every day about the Krach while the official economic magazines do not have a word about that? How did the anarchists know what is going to happen?I mean are the economists so incapable or do they obey to orders not to reveal the true nature of processes?

Study / University in Poland is too easy [68]

North America it is mostly task oriented and industry driven. Think of it as preparation for a job, rather than preparation for independent thought based on well founded reasons. That leads people to follow so called professional dogmas, rules, tricks and prescribed solutions. These rules are often followed without any kind of analysis or second look. The manual says so so this is how it is.

I prefer this model than the german model of education.Totally theoretical and you learn the practice on practice without any guidelines.
And having everyone asking you ''why did you do this?'',''why did you do that?'',and you have to explain everything from scratch.

Life / Talk-sex in Poland...are Poles really prude? [44]

Yes,but women would not like the competition and complain. Can you imagine a middle aged woman having Doda exposed talking about sex while the husband watches with jaw dropped?

UK, Ireland / My friends upset at Brits.... [51]

It was widespread during communist times that people in Poland were constantly hugry and ate everything they found,so media like to reinforce this stereotype to satisfy the public which does not like their jobs taken by Poles.

It is complicated how it works.

News / I support creation of Great Poland [134]

to defense of Poland of our King Wladislaw Warnenchyk, His Majesty Sobieski and Great Cavalier Zawisha Charny. That is MY Poland and Poland of Polish and

Yes,but this Poland includes parts of todays Belarus and Ukraine which are also slavic nations.I don't understand the logic of amputating one slavic nation to make the other great.

History / Poland war propaganda poster - can anyone explain this picture? [292]

German propaganda against Poles:
Militargeographische Beschreibung von Polen(1.Juli 1939):''Die Polen:Sanguinisch, temperamentvoll, leidenschaftlich, sehr gastfreundlich, aber sehr leichtsinnig und unbestandig.Das polnische Volk hat ein hochgespanntes Nationalgefuhl und Geltungs bedurfnis, das gegenuber dem Deutschtum nicht frei von Minderwertigskeitsgefuhlen ist.''

We see here again the common description for Poles as having inferiority complex and being idiotic.

''Die Volksbildung der Polen steht nicht hoch...Das gilt auch fur das gesamte Kulturniveau.''
The stereotype about inferior culture of Poles and inferior education. That their civilization is unimportant.

Description of Generalstabchef Franz Hadler about polish soldiers:''Der polnische Soldat ist wohl der dummste in Europa...''
The polish soldier is the most stupid in Europe.

Hitler am 24.Oktober 1939:''Es muss auch der letzten Kuhmagd in Deutschland klar gemacht werden, dass das Polentum gleichwertig ist mit Untermenschentum.''
It has to become clear to everyone in Germany that the polish nation is subhuman.(Untermensch, meaning belonging to a lower race).

Pivo dělá hezká těla is a right spelling I think.

I use this as a moto with the Diskoteka Avarya song ''piej pivo, pivo piej''.

Lepší jeden prd než deset doktorů...

Can you say ''strc prst skrz krk''?
It is a czech phrase actually. It means ''stick your finger down your neck.''

Poznan vs Posen:Not much difference in sound
Stettin vs Sczeczyn:I prefer Stettin,it sounds more elegant
Danzig vs Gdansk:Danzig sounds like good old,Gdansk sounds modern, vibrant
Eilau vs Ilawa:Ilawa.Much more feminine
Klodzko vs Glatz:Both sound terrible.Klodzko sounds more bulgarian.
Olsztyn vs Oldenburg:I prefer Olsztyn.much more exotic.
Gliwice vs Gleiwitz:Gleiwitz sounds funny.
Berlin vs Barlin:Barlin reveals more of the character of the city.Berlin does not sound german.
Munchen vs Mnichov:Mnichov sounds like another small slavic town, nobody heard of.

Genealogy / Average height of Polish women [107]

Im 171cm and I see English girls that are taller than me all the time.

But not 50% of english girls are taller than you.For example I guess that you were the third or fourth tallest girl in your class if your class had 30 people.
