Life / Health care in Poland for ex-pats [26]

thanks alot dtaylor i need to know this at the moment!!

No problem, if you pay tax, you get the same treatment as everyone else.

Only EU members. Everyone else pays full price if you don't have insurance or haven't paid for ZUS.

Yup, though i need to dig up this info about the Brits here, I forget the agreement to two governments have.

Just the passport, if you need long term treatment, u either have to present your usual details (nip, persol ect), or you may have quite a bill. Emergency treatment is free of course for the Brits, and most people im guessing. I'll try and find out more.

Guess what, I wont be working my butt off and paying high taxes, interest rates, ect in this economic climate just so others can be given extra's to have children. The decision to have a baby should only be never be based on whether you would get help from the government. There are too many people who cheat the system, or purely base their decision to bring a child into the world solely on what they will get back from having that child, rather than what they could give to the child. Scotland has one of the highest unemployment birth rate in Europe, mostly BECAUSE of the benefits that the government passes onto these "families".

Na **** that, we should stop encouraging those without a job to continue to claim, and force them back into work if there are jobs to be taken. 18...left school at 16 without an education....never worked in the 2 years since...national service in my opinion. Then you will see how long it takes the spongers to get off their lazy backsides and start looking for work.

RANT over ;)

This guys a troll, don't feed him, just look at his profile...

Problem with Scotland isn't so much the birth rate, but the average age of workers in the near future. Now unless you condone cloning, or we start breeding super growing babies...how else would you supply workers?

Before you go on about unemployment, remember that the majority of the unemployed especially in Glasgow don't want to work, generations of benefit grabbing has made sure of that.

Why would you want to do that? Explain to me why it is good thing?

Why do you need things explained so much? Is it because you have probably not a clue about Scottish demographics or politics? Or because you spout more verbal diarrhea about how bad the world is?

My guess is all of the above.

Asking why people need private pensions....twat.

Work / Mechanical design engineer, no Polish, will company like GE hire me? [59]

300 words wouldn't take very long at all.

300 page txt. PAGE.

restaurant manager

I'm a partner, but all the same really ;)

All I can say is good luck to you. My only advice would be not to take the course.
Qualifications aren't the big thing in Teaching or proofreading, it's all about rep.
To have the big contracts you need to be able to walk before you run. I'm not saying this course isn't a great thing, I just have never heard of such a thing...and I do have relevant experience to back up what I say.

I am a team leader at Electrolux, creating and updating all their product manuals. Through that I have established contracts with some of the major international companies in Krakow. But that didn't come easy, for me to get them I've had to work damn hard teaching English for 5-6 years...with that came the rep, and after I never needed to apply for any job again.

So to cap up what i'm trying to say, start off teaching, get to know the language you use everyday, learn why we say somethings and not others in a certain way. And, if you are really enthusiastic about this, get in touch with me and I might be able to help you out starting. And that my friend is something worth thinking about.

You can complete a course called "basic proofreading"

I wouldn't even bother with the courses, because without a long list of clients you have already worked for, it's a difficult market to break into.

That's a pretty vague and sweeping generalisation.

Let take a normal 300 page txt, how long do you think it would take, scanning every word, every punctuation, making sure the technical parts are spot on, checking that the grammar is fit and proper, and on and on.

Then you will be made to work within very small time scales, miss a deadline and kiss your ass goodbye. Another point is that larger firms will employ 2-3 different proofreaders, and from time to time the others will check on your work, another potential slip up.

Unlike teaching, which for me at least is the easiest thing in the world.

You can take my word for it if you like, I'm heavily in the business;)

Work / Would ESOL help me find work in Poland? Or maybe CELTA is better? [11]

Both qualifications wont do much in Poland, maybe get you to the interview point. The market is flooded by these qualifications, therefore experience is only thing that will guarantee jobs in teaching, or knowing someone who can get you in the door.

Without the IRA there would not be a catholic alive in NI today.

Hehe, Polish Forums, please welcome our first racist twat supporting IRA wannabe. Dont get me wrong, IRA, UDA,UFF and all are scum in the peoples eyes in Ireland and outside.

Im guessing you have to channel your old hatred of the north towards the Poles. Cos people above you have left you like a baby without a dummy.

You are a loner, I doubt you have any other friends other than other **** heads who do nothing with their lives than feck each other over.

for 1/5th of the wage.

Well maybe this, I have never mentioned it before on forums but some people here know how much I earn a week, and its alot more than those in Irealnd earn a month. I think thats good enough reason.

Show me evidence that there are more than 1,000 paddies in Poland. You are a liar.

Come to Krakow, we would all welcome you ;)

Ok how about the minority Catholics in NI? should they have all been sent out the country just cos they were not considered by some dicks to be not part of it?
