USA, Canada / Need to interview some Polish people in wisconsin [15]

I'm a cheesehead but I live 3 hours away from Milwaukee. There are Polish people who came long time ago and some recently. Many workers from Poland come in the summer to work in the Dells.

Or call them up, they are in Milwaukee and might help:

Life / Chinchillas and other pets in Poland [6]

I have two chinchillas. They need a dust bath every day or their fur goes greasy.
I've seen some sold as pets in Poland. I would say pets are popular in Poland.

Life / Polish remedies for Flu [28]

here's some noodles with cabbage....

Polish Noodles (Kluski z Kapusta)
Boil egg noodles medium thickness
Sauté in 1/4 pound of melted butter:
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 large onion chopped
1 very large head of cabbage (green) shredded medium when the vegetables are limp, add 1 Tablespoon of caraway seed and salt and pepper to taste. Drain noodles. Pour vegetables over noodles. Stir in 1 pint or more of sour cream. Sometimes I serve sausage and bread, but usually we just have bread. (Dark rye, homemade of course

USA, Canada / Need help...American Citizen marrying Polish Girl [52]

It's best if you are with her in the US because it's a long process to get her a spouse visa to get her over. She will be able to stay here once she's married to you but it's better if the visa doesn't expire.

USA, Canada / Need help...American Citizen marrying Polish Girl [52]

Normally it would be better to marry in the US, but since she has a visa, you can marry in Poland and come to the US together and once here file for adjustment of status.

If she didn't have a VISA and you marry her in Poland, then you would have to file for Spousal Immigrant papers and those take about 8-9 months because once she's here she gets a green card.

USA, Canada / If I go to Poland, will I be able to come back to US? [7]

If you are not a U.S. citizen, you may need permission to return to the U.S. after traveling abroad. This permission is granted through a travel document. Travel documents are also given to foreign nationals who want to travel, but cannot get a passport from their country of nationality.

Re-entry Permit is a travel document issued to lawful permanent residents and conditional residents to re-enter the U.S. after traveling abroad.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------

Who needs Reentry Permit?

Lawful permanent residents and conditional residents require Reentry Permits to re-enter the U.S. after travel of one year or more.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------

How do I file for Re-entry Permit?

You must file Form I-131, Application for a Travel Document, complete with supporting documentation, photos and applicable fees with the USCIS.

Love / Do you think that Poles are faithful [74]

I think it all depends on the person, their belief in themselves and/or God.
There are cheaters everywhere, but Poland has more catholics and it is against the church to cheat, ( not that it would stop some) so I would assume there should be less cheaters in Poland.

I don't know.

Travel / Best time to have vacation in Poland? [7]

Starting in April you have Easter, a Big Celebration in Poland, then the flowers start blooming, the birds singing and the weather is great, summers are great, in August it can get hot sometimes, Novembers can be rainy, cold, miserable but that in itself has it's own beauty. Once the snow starts falling, the roads get bad, specially with so many drivers who are always in a hurry somewhere it can get nasty. They don't clean the roads as fast as in the US, but if you look beyond that, you can see beauty of winter and if you enjoy skiing or snowboarding, it's worth spending time in the mountains.

I'll tell you one thing: You'll be swamped with friends. Everyone will want to sit next to you and you'll be the coolest kid around. The desks in schools are shared with another uczeń, not like in the US where you have your own desk. The schools in the US have exchange students from Russia, Poland and other countries. They always post pictures of them in the paper and make a big deal out of it and everyone wants to go out with him or her.

Life / Situation of women in Poland and the society [25]

Poland respects women more than the US. Another example : Women in Poland retire at an earlier age (55) than men, while in the US it is the same age for both, 65

Love / Gift for Polish girls - question [56]

Sexy underware...No, better not. You might get a size too big and then you'll be in Big Trouble.
Get her a Big Box of heart-shaped chocolates. The shelves are loaded with that stuff this time of year.

Life / Situation of women in Poland and the society [25]

But the majority of divorced women in Poland remain the primary caregivers for their children, while in the US they split the kids between both parents. Even when the baby is nursing , they will take it away from the mother so the "x" can have it also, just so he doesn't have to pay child support, and how the hell is he gonna nurse a 3 month old baby?? American laws are unfair for children. They have no respect for women and children.

At least in Poland they have respect for a mother and child.
