History / Would Poles prefer that Nazi/Germany to stay in power instead of USSR? [55]

I've visited West Germany before the wall. Poland at that time was struggling with marshall law, couldn't buy anything, the store shelves were empty but in West Germany, there was everything, plenty of food, oranges, bread. It was similair to the US, while Easy Germany was similair to Poland.

[

i just thought that the germans were more honest in their intentions of death and destruction

They were not honest. For example: They would tell people from Hungary and other countries that there are job opportunities and a better future in the Poland area. They did that to not cause panic, while all along they had other intentions for these people.

Once they arrived in the concentration camps, they were told to undress, were handed towels, soap and the germans were very polite and smiling the whole time. Only the germans knew what comes next.

Germans were not honest, they were manipulative and had these people under their control. Russians used other tactics, and was not any better.
My 'x' is the that way. He is manipulative, will act nice and then will stab you in the back.
Stupid me married a german.

Love / Polish Stunner.........sticky situation [106]

If you feel there are no feelings for your present girl-friend anymore, then what's the point of being together. You are not happy with her. You will only be with her to make her happy. That's not going to work in the long run.

You have to find somebody that you will be happy with. But be careful, because if it doesn't work out with the new girl, the first one will not take you back...

Life / JOKES ABOUT POLISH. Have we deserve it? [68]

When I went to high school in the US, the courses they offered, I already had those in grade school in Poland. Except for American History and American literature.

Life / JOKES ABOUT POLISH. Have we deserve it? [68]

In certain areas in the US where there are a lot of Poles, they tell Polish jokes. You go to an area with Mexicans, Irish or Germans, they take the same joke and replace it with them.

It's just depends where you are.

Life / Cell phone options in Poland? [55]

I live in a dinky little town. They don't have much choices of carriers. I have US cellular and it's the best one because I can text messages and have direct contact with Europe. Other providers will charge extra for that or don't have it at all.

He may not belong to a carrier that allows outbound to the US.

That could be true. But depending on the country, some US cells won't work in them. But then it all depends on the carrier too.

they called it "ba,ki".

Was it maybe "dzwonki"?
