Genealogy / how many know their own family histories? [139]

My Dad, sister and myself have spent years tracing our family roots and there's been some interesting results - including a link to the British in India. Very odd. :-)

Life / Army National Service in Poland [95]

Nope what I am saying is guy who was BF did 9 months away from family in National service. But that 9 months was integrated into 25 months of his Gran's dying and the time he and I and his sister spent away. Aye so that's 18 months, I'm not explaining this right...he got 7 months with his Gran. Wow.

OMG - done it. Thank you Amathyst and all that. Nursing Corps. Yup.

I spent 25 months with someone in my BF's family dying, this was more than 9 months armed services ever will be

Easier said than done, 9 months is a long time.

With out considering the rest of this topic, no, 9 months in the Armed Services is not a long time. Its a very short time out a persons life. Most people, faced with other facts in thier lives, would consider this so!

News / Black Immigrant living in Poland infects dozens of women with HIV [174]

Even so everybody is entitled point of view, the posts should not be edited so that everybody else can read it and make their own decision on his/her view.

Yeah thanks but he edited his own post after I commented on it! His post is mildly offensive now but before - he should have been gone!

You edited your original post you idiot. Still, what you say is complete and utter crap.

I am not not scared of a viewpoint that is not my own but I am wary and against extreme viewpoints like your own. I wish I'd saved your original one. However, your edited one is still pathetic.

lol - true. Looking at the picture again - there doesn't seem to be much evidence that Hallowe'en is in the air. Short sleeves and skirt at the end of October - hmm. :-)

UK, Ireland / Flooding in Northern England [74]

What about Ireland, Scotland and Whales

All part of the UK so money is from the same fund.

It is kind of annoying when UK citizens always put their hands in their pockets to assist other countries in need at times of disaster and now we seem to be going this alone, yes those countries are usually worse off in terms of wealth etc but we need help!

Tonight I am sitting in my warm house, I've got a nice warm bed to crawl into soon, I've been to work and I've been for a couple of drinks after. I've a fridge full of food and water, I've a hot shower waiting for me in the morning. Yet only a couple of hundred miles away - its the exact opposite.
