History / Poland and Lithuania [161]

Its not about discrimination , its about Lithuanian nationals who as a Polish citizen enjoy certain privileges paid for by Polish government but in Lithuania Poles are discriminated.

Everybody should remember that privileged groups are usually hated by many.

As for EU law as long Poland is a member of said organization its law apply - you may not care but you cannot ignore it !

Sometimes (unfortunately more and more often) this is morally justified to omit Polish law, the same about the EU regulations. One must just be assured that this is possible to hide this fact.

There you are, you are not saying that Lithuania has no right to exist as an independent state or are you? For me the Commonwealths dissociation into four modern nations seems pretty natural

So, you insist that all roads leads to Vilnius?

I do not share views, I mean about supposed rights of the nations to self-determination. This is nonsense.

Current Polish government is a joke but if ever Polish government stars doing its job properly - Lithuanian government can expect reckoning for all broken agreements as Lithuanian minority in Poland have every right granted to them by EU law.

I don't care about EU laws, this is matter of our own culture. No matter how stupid regulations would be in action in Lithuania, III RP cannot discriminate own citizens.

Life / Doda - Blasphemy? [47]

So, do you think she has gone too far this time... or are the Poles over-reacting?

She is just spewing here religious tolerance.

While public TV also compete in the market and their management have the right to decide about personal policy. Politicians which always control this company claim that public TV realizing some kind of cultural mission. That is how they force taxpayers to pay for it. Of course this is a joke, how could they employ such people like Doda at the first place?

Never thought Poland was a religious-taliban state...what's next?

Said a self-proclaimed Germanic pagan! :)

She likes pushing the boundaries, but that is about all she really does, well besides showing off her body and speaking rubbish most of the time. I don't want to generalize but if she is so intelligent (high IQ ) why is she making a fool of herself? I guess she has nothing else to offer.

It appears that she is one of the stupidest pop-stars around. Notice that such people very rarely talk about such issues, because they want to gather the biggest publicity possible.

The article about religious tolerance is stupid but this is funny how brainless doll who try to stir controversy by all means is defended by so many. While the fact that Polish public TV never invite representatives of non-parliamentary parties to political debates remains widely unnoticed and nobody loudly cry about lack of freedom of speech in publicly financed company. What is the reason of such double standards? It is because majority of people is mentally on the level of tabloids?

History / Poland and Lithuania [161]

Old constructions should be modernized for sure but modern state is a bad joke.

Why Lithuania is not so quick buy a myth that the Commonwealth was first prototype of EU? Think hard!

Because this is a lie? Commonwealth in comparison to the EU is like Audi compared to Fiat.

The "target" is shorthand for the system upon which a civilization converges over time. The "target" of Western civilization is the modern, liberal, free-market democracy (LFMD). Read The End of History by Fukuyama or The Clash of Civilizations by Huntington. Just as you can analyze Western history and observe the overall trend toward LFMD, you can analyze CW's history between 1384-1795 and observe the overall drift towards Polish culture and state, away from others.

Sorry but this is Hegelian nonsense about destination. You wish for some kind of utopian LFMD and just recentely Karl Marx and his supporters wished for also utopian communism. There is no any precise destination, it is delusion. Fukoyama's claims about and of the word, it is philosophical compromising. Today you have representative democracy in more and more oppressive form (the rise of socialism) and tomorrow it may all fall apart. Politologist, sociologists and psychologist will write tones of book about why democracy cannot work on longer run. Some already started. There is a constant 'battle of ideologies'. Monarchy in middle ages in many aspects was less oppressive than modern representative democracy. Certainly trade barriers so widespread in western world (even in the EU itself) were unknown at that time. A traded could travel half of the word without any paper to sell his goods.

PS: I'm wonder why feelings of some Lithuanians about the GDL stir so much of controversies. After all this is not any formal matter followed by various consequences, just sentimental talk.

Love / Abuse in relationships (my first Polish girlfriend) [216]

There is no 'allowing' anything; women do what they want to do. You write as if women were chattel or children.

No, people in general do mostly what they can and not what they want. While a woman can hardly abuse a men unless he is passive. I want to show you what is the problem but I cannot do it if you wont open your eyes.

Abused by women, metrosexual, uber-pacifist, fanatical ecologist, champion of wrongly understood tolerance this is more and more modern men of western civilization, educated in public school. Polish composer and conservative liberal Stefan Kisielewski said once that socialism create problems unknown in other systems.

How on earth Muslims could not overrun Europe if local men have written "a loser" on their face!

News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

I understand that you cannot find anything and this is the reason why you change topic.

Anyway, if you want to know I admire him because he achieved something from nothing despite all the pressure from mainstream media and some political circles. However, he does preach for socialism and support PiS and this is something that I cannot stand.

Recently I defended also Michal Kaminski because he was slandered by some maniac. But in the end I consider Kaminski to be disgusting political figure and do not admire him at all. One does not need to be a fanatical supporter, just a bit of objectivity is enough. Otherwise this is impossible to understand political development in general.

All gossip, face it or provide some pictures. After all these tabloids would publish something.

You write about things that you have no idea. Catholics may pray in front of statues or icons but they never pray to them.

News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

How many 'managers' do you know who have a Maybach?

The point is that he doesn't have a Maybach and never owned one. Neither helicopter. Let stick to the facts, OK?

How do you feel about Rydzyk supporting EU, although previously he was a big enemy of EU (maybe it has something to do with him needing some EU finances) - latests news.

Rydzyk doesn't support the EU. I offer the advice above to you too.

He is not preserving traditional Christian values in Poland unless by traditional Christian values you mean racism, anti- semitism

His exact words were "You know what this is about: Poland giving [the Jews] $65bn. They will come to you and say, 'Give me your coat! Take off your trousers! Give me your shoes!' "

Thank you Harry, this quote help me to repeat my previous statement in this thread, the one about Holocaust Industry that you both ignored.

Harry misinterpreted this statement. Rydzyk made a statement about demand of World Jewish Congress. This is not about the Jews in general but about this particular organization (eventually similar minded organizations) which of course is not representative to worldwide Jewry. American Jewish professor Norman Finkenstein consider them to be a part of Holocaust Industry. This is group of people who without any shame want to take advantage out of tragedy of millions of people. Their only goal is too pick as much cash as possible.

Rydzyk stand in opposition to HI not the Jews in general. You could say that those politicians who once refused to invade Iraq and now have no intention to invade Iran are antiSemitic. Political establishment in Israel (some group of people) support such policy, however this is not true that the Jews in general (or even majority) are warmongers as well.

Love / Abuse in relationships (my first Polish girlfriend) [216]

Men who think this way get burned by the legal system.

Agreed, so you should stop being 'macho'. It never wins in court and besides, women find it stupid.

No, but men should be smart men not like the ones who fear having recourse to legal protections, especially in our society which nourishes cries of false abuse and yes, even false charges of rape.

It's liberalism that has infected our courts with anti-male bias and (it) keeps men second class citizens when it comes to justisce for men.

Analyse of your posting is quite interesting... :)

You concentrate fully on a legal system and courts and this is very wrong attitude. (state is interested only to collect your money ) You think that this is smart to win a case in a court? I think that same fact that such case is already in court is a disaster. The point is to handle the relationship and this is smart! When a men is abused by women this is because he does allow her to behave like that. Women might be far from perfection but she don't have natural ability to succeed in this field. Neither interest to become a lonely mother for example.

You are a dinosaur in your thinking and there are women in this forum who hate what I say yet understand the truth of it.

You see, this is confrontation rhetoric, you are obsessed by this issue. Instead to calm down the emotions you go the opposite way and this is your mistake.

I probably have more contact with women in one week than you have in several months, and there's a reason for it.

I don't know you, perhaps this is true. However this is you the one who appears to have serious problems and this is you who seems to cannot handle the situation.Your supposed experience lead you to this confrontation rhetoric that you use in this thread.

It's liberalism that has infected our courts with anti-male bias and (it) keeps men second class citizens when it comes to justisce for men.

As I have wrote before. I see that mad political correctness reached to courts but this is separate problem.

Beside of that this is bad American custom to say "liberalism" instead of "leftism". The first is freedom minded ideology, while the second preach for the oppression of the state.

The classical definition is that "liberalism is a broad class of political philosophies that considers individual liberty and equality to be the most important political goals".

Absolutely not. You can have either liberty or equality. Equality is a goal of egalitarianism, and this is in fact a totalitarian (anti-liberal) ideology.

Love / Abuse in relationships (my first Polish girlfriend) [216]

How archaic; women reading that comment would just smirk and laugh at such antiquated thinking. Today's women don't accept being 'handled' and indeed attempt to prove it in many ways. Your comments are reminiscent of someone talking as if it's the 1950's. Such macho bravado always hurts men especially in modern times. Times have changed, evidently you haven't.

You are simply lacking confidence, you don't feel to be master of the situation and this is really your problem. Stereotypical macho is rather brainless and to handle relationship one must use brain from the very start. What do you expect, that men will stop being men because this is supposed to be archaic?

The question of courts infected by leftism is another matter and should be discussed in other thread.

More sex is probably what these ladies need.

Most likely!

Yeah maybe women should try that when they're getting punched in the face by a bloke...not sure it'd work though.

I'm afraid that this may work in one direction only :)

You answer so simply yet leaving someone is a very complicated thing to do. What about finances? furniture? contracts between the two of you? kids? etc, etc. Does she get the house then?

A lot of useless questions. Such person should rather think what is wrong with him if he cannot handle his wife. More likely this is because such "men" is not less emotional than his women.

It may be true that politically correct brigade control courts but such cases (excluding really drastic examples) should never be the subject for the state.

It is much more shameful for men to report being hit or beaten by women than the other way around.

Sorry but truth is brutal, such men should be ashamed and don't deserve any mercy! They should not bother state apparatus with their indolence.

Abused men, certified product of public education! :)

Men are almost always stronger than women. If she is attacking you just make her stop. As I said, just grab her arms, and hold her still, until she understands what the f*ck she's doing

Swede is right here, I would just add something. Relax, do it with honest smile on your face, tell her that she looks sexy when angry and then offer sex. Big deal... :)

News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

This is you who appears to be more materialistic. Rydzyk is just a manager, something important that media never mention. Media manipulate people, because they claim that he own fortune. Rydzyk rightfully try to create financial and media background for church's activity. I welcome such developments because I hate to see clergy being in the relation of dependency from the state, I mean state/EU donations.

Personally I have different political views and dislike his political choices. However you wrongly consider him to be a politician. He is just one of many people from media circles who openly express his political views and try to convince as many people as possible.

I have wrote that you seems to be materialistic, because this is the only perspective from which you look at RM. In fact RM family give to many people some extra sense in their life. You call it false hope, but what is false in trying to preserve traditional Christian values in Poland?

Look at posts that followed mine they all with an air to ridicule Lithuania. What do you expect? Is it friendly discussion or the bunch of writings to undermine Lithuania and Lithuanians?

I think that this is yours Lithuanian-centric perspective cause that you wrongly interpret posts above. All I wanted to write is that I find such constructions like GDL or KofP more pleasant than modern national state. While Lithuania is just one of many such states.

Love / What are your views (or Polish views) on abortion? [102]

agree, so is judging others with negative remarks.

This is funny how 'positive remarks' don't stir such controversy. Everybody would wish to be complimented but dose of deserved criticism is so hard to stand.

It appears that men have no reproductive rights in western society. Only responsibility. Sounds like oppression to me.

Wait few decades and doctrine of the church of political correctness will evolve into something opposite to Islam. :)

The most amusing part is that you can't make it a crime any further than assault on a woman. Because, to do so would require you to give the unborn child a human being legal status! And we know you can't do that or your whole abortion philosophy falls apart.

True, it should be repeated over and over that flawed logic leads to many ridiculous consequences.

no, I have never said that I would appreciate if you did not put words in my mouth.

You might not say this directly but this is exactly consequence of your logic.

Poland is a within Western civilization and I am not sure why stating the fact is really of any meaning in this discussion.

This forum gather many politically ignorant people as well. So this is necessary to state the obvious, otherwise they would think that this is only Polish matter.

ou might be right but he is a priest who should stay away from politics and he does not. CC is mingling too much in Polish politics and this is what I have a problem with.

Rydzyk support for disgusting PiS is simply wrong, but why you think that he should stay away from political activity? It seems that according to you only corrupt bastards from mainstream political parties should be active on this field... From my professional experience I might say that Polish Republic is totally corrupt, you have no chances to start serious business without any connections. All public institutions are corrupt and government tolerate this situation to satisfy bottom of the party structures. It seems to be problem of western civilization in general.

church should not be involved in politics at all in my opinion. He is too involved. Ih he wants to be a politician, he should resign from the priesthood and run in elections.

The church is probably the only side in political arena which have some dignity. So I don't see any reason why the church should be the only lobby to resign from having influence on policy. Of course those who dislike the teaching of the church would welcome such resignation with open arms.

He was condemned by his own church and the Vatican. I cannot argue with that, but some people would. It is their choice.

Of course he was not condemned by Vatican, delicately lectured if anything.

Respecting other people is not a dictatorship, is a democracy, discriminating is a known characteristic of a dictatorship...

This is simply not true, democracy means sometimes terror of majority, while dictatorship, monarchy may be more liberal than many western democracies. Take a look at Liechteinstein.

there is a difference between a gossip and and slander.

Yes but pedaƂ and gej have exactly the same meaning, so this is not a slander. The first is simply considered rude. You cannot fine people for using rude language. this is insanity. If everybody would go to court with such cases, courts would lack time to judge about serious issues. I was verbally offended many times (like most of people) but I never even considered such option.

Love / What are your views (or Polish views) on abortion? [102]

Im not going to blame myself for the fact that women do not haemorrhage to death because they had a back street abortion.

I guess that if those women would allow their children to survive, they would have far greater chances to survive themselves. But I'm afraid that this case is too complicated for some people...

only on PF ;0 ladies and gentlemen Lesser accused BB of feminism. Is he indeed running out of arguments or he never had any in the first place??????

This issue have little to do with killing unborn babies. It simply amaze me how ridiculous thesis people are ready to believe. This stubborn unwillingness to face the true and to spot their own logical inconsistency is so pathetic. There is nothing more humiliating to human mind than stubborn sticking to inconsistent logic pointed out by a third person.

that was for Joe, who is not really familiar with Rydzyk. What is your point?

It look like some kind of accusation. Rydzyk is probably the only person in Poland who is blamed for trying to get (of course not personally, he is just a manager) funding from Brussels.

Anti-Semitism this is old song of Holocaust Industry. I believe that vast majority of Jews don't belong to this shady group of scamsters. While Rydzyk have an issue only with the latter. So we cannot accept perspective of HI to be even close to objective.

I don't like the fact that he support PiS as supposed lesser evil. Catholic priest should criticize all politicians who stand against teaching of the church and support only political initiatives strictly in agreement with this teaching. But this is not what really bother political establishment! They are upset that their opponents managed to fool Rydzyk in their favour. Of course if Rydzyk would back them then he would be more than OK.

Tadeusz Rydzyk and his independent media creations have made many critics among left-wing, liberal and centrist parties.

What is your point?
