Language / Understanding Languages [24]

Okay, so we all now that learning a new language is challenging and it can be confusing, however I'm tired of people on this forum trying to correct people when they aren't right. Really I'm so glad that all of these people show a sincere interest in learning something new and different, but please don't act like you know something if you don't. If you don't know it say you don't know it and learn from your mistakes.

wow where did that spring from, what sort of thing do you mean, simple word correction or what?? has something happened to you that annoyed you??

take a chill pill

hugs

T :)

UK, Ireland / UK Immigration Laws: An Idea [NEW]

I've just heard on the news that were not having a referendum on the latest EU treaty, suprise suprise. SO without further or do i'd like to discuss the good old topic of immigraiton

My idea is very simple, it would stop the overflow of immigrants into this country no matter what the colour of their skin, sex, religion or nationality. It wouldn't make a difference if you are in Europe or in Australisia.

my idea is to simply make everybody apply three months in advance of them arriving into the UK, whether there from the EU or outside of it (with my idea we would be outside of the EU, therefore not under their laws).

Of course all the information required on the application form would be the same standard ones as applying for a Visa/Work permit etc. When the papers have been sent to the UK there can be a proper background check completed with the full co-operation of the government of the applicants country. Therefore any criminal record, infectious diseases or any other history that may stop a successful application could be assessed.

When the application has been reviewed then the person is granted permission to both work and live in the UK.

I have thought long and hard about it and have come up with a pretty simple plan that with some people with resources could probably be implemented, however with our current political status this would never be possible. Any further questions are welcome

I'm also hapy to expand and answer any questions you may have reguarding the idea, i cannot surely be expected to think of every possible or potential scenario but would be happy to give a reply to anything specific.

thanks

T

News / Do you think that Polish catholics resent the new German Pope? [108]

lol maybe when i'm about 85 i'll be old enough and wise enough, however i have put a little thought into it and i wouldn't just say it off hand. I suppose that if there was not religion people would still find something to fight over

News / Do you think that Polish catholics resent the new German Pope? [108]

atheist? hedonist?

Atheist, i have no religious beliefs at all, i used to think, 'let them get on with it' but after historical/recent events i'm starting to wonder if there is any good with the continuation of religious beliefs at all.

UK, Ireland / Negative attitude towards Polish immigration in UK becoming stronger [90]

I haven't read many of the threads but i'd say that i agree with the name of this topic, that there is more negativity towards immigrant workers, Polish, Lithuanian or whatever. Some people have thought it through and formed the opinion, some people just read the sun newspaper and use its opinion and others are just racists.

My personal opinion is that there are too many migrant workers in the UK, we need to get the thousands maybe millions of people who are un employed into the jobs that immigrants are willing to do. Coffee shops, cleaners, bars or whatever. We are in the UK we need to look after our own before anybody else. Hopefully you can see that this is not a racist view or a sun newspaper view but the view of somebody who cares about his country

thanks

Love / Polish men are more sexy.... [64]

hahaha how funny is this, a nice little topic so that all the polish can tell each other how much they love themselves or their men. When you've all detached yourselves from the rear end or in some cases the front end, you will realise that nationality has nothing to do with hottness or anything else, it is actually the individual.

That goes for girls or boys, men or women, hang on a second is that coffee i smell, yeah i think it is and i'm guessing you lot might start to smell it soon too :)

Life / Polish attitudes towards drinking alcohol [72]

repsect each other's cultures

ow believe me i have respect for all cultures, however i don't have to respect every aspect of those cultures.

i respect the islamic culture but i don't like the way women are treated, i respect the communist cuba but i don't like the way some things happen there, so why can't i repsect polish culture and have a problem with the drinking as i do with the UK.

Life / Polish attitudes towards drinking alcohol [72]

actually i don't care what country and who is drinking, i was making a more wider point. I wasn't singling out Poland or indeed my own territory the UK. I think that people should be 18 before they can drink alcohol and that is that. Nothing difficult about that. To be honest i couldn't care less if Poland drank itself to death as i don't live there and am not a national of that country, so i'm not moaning or ******** about that because i really don't care :)

Life / Polish attitudes towards drinking alcohol [72]

So if a person often sets out to get drunk then they have a problem.

yes your right there, i've never gone out to get drunk, it just happens when i'm having a good time i tended to drink more.

Good :)

i know nearly two months, i'm proud of myself :)

Life / Polish attitudes towards drinking alcohol [72]

it dosen't matter what form the alcohol comes in or where in the world people are drinking it to excess, IT NEEDS TO BE CONTROLLED and those who go to far need to be cast away on a small ireland somehwere to live out the rest of their sorry sad lives

Life / Polish attitudes towards drinking alcohol [72]

The idea was that drinking was an acceptable way to deal with their troubles

should have been no more acceptable then as it is now, drink is not and should not be considered an answer to a problem!!!!. Its outragous that people say, well because of my recent family loss i turned to the bottle, makes me sick!!!. If people need help then go and see somebody or sort your **** out.

Life / Polish attitudes towards drinking alcohol [72]

The only difference in Poland is that it's more accepted, and why not, they're going to drink anyway....

not a great attitude to have but i understand where your coming from there. There is a simple way to stop young kids drinking and that is to ID absoloutley everybody, also to inprison those who buy alcohol for people under the required age.

During Communism, Polish drinking was terrible. Something like, on average all Poles drank eight gallons of vodka a year. That might not be exactly right, but the point is, people were getting all kinds of drunk. It's better now, but just 15 years ago, Poland was one of the drunkest countries on earth, made Ireland look like a MAAD meeting.

is Poland proud of this?? if i was polish i would be ashamed, i'm English and i'm ashamed of what i see on our streets, week in week out, its more regular than the football!!!

Travel / Is there a limit to the number of trips in 1 year to Poland? [21]

Surely my dear if you are in the EU you are allowed to move 'freely' throughout the member states. As far as i know from England to Poland and visa vursa for Polish people they can do it as many times as they like. So under EU regualtion surely, for example me if i wished to do so could fly to and from Poland as many times as i liked.

If not, why not, surely if not then that is double standards!!!!

Life / Polish attitudes towards drinking alcohol [72]

Sure I've known some, and you can say the same about people who consume alcohol, but the truth is that the majority of smokers become lazy, and fry their brain. I have a friend who sleeps 18 hours a day now, because he smoked mj every day throughout his school years, (more than 4 years..) He is only a shell of what he was before he started smoking..

I agree totally that smoking mj slows you down, i know a number of smokers and there all the same, lazy, can't be bothered and un motivated to do anything accept sit on their behinds and smoke.

Alcoholics are just as bad, wake up, have a drink, maybe go to work with a sneeky flask of vodka and drink it all day, go home or to the pub after and drink themselves to sleep.

People with these habits and addictions have no lives, this is part of the cause of them turning to it in the first place. They have nothing else to do so they sit in the mj smoking circles moaning about how wrong the world is and the wars going on when they don't want to do nothing about it. As for the alcoholics they don't care because their off their trolleys anyway :)

thanks

T

P.S. screw the lot of them

Love / Polish boyfriends [77]

How come so much bigotry towards Poles is acceptable on a so-called POLISH site? What's the agenda here?

lol i nearly fell over myself laughing at your comment, not because it was you that made it or that i think your stupid, i actually think this site is mostly used fo bashing people that the polish don't like or for them to act the victim, its funny how two people can view the same website in a different light.

However you are correct about te PC thing, but really i hate PC you should be allowed to say black, Polish or whatever, without over touchy people taking offense to a simple statement of fact, don't you agree??

Love / Polish boyfriends [77]

my goodness at least were not banging the british on this topic :)

However i have to say picking on Polish men is a bit harsh especially if your not polish yourself, there could be so many reasons why you believe or don't believe that Polish men or on the other hand woman aren't good, so to speak.

FIrstly it could just be a cultural difference, i had a Polish girlfriend and there were a few thigns that i was left scratching my head with, firstly, p's and q's they just didn't exist in her vocabulary, seconldy due to her up bringing she had different ideas and views on how life should be lived etc.

What i'm trying to say is that it could be and i'm sure it is the same on the other hand for britisih girls who have Polish boyfriends.

The second point is that some people just are not made for each other, you may find each other physically attrative but when push comes to shuv you don't actually like them in a personal sense. Therfore it is not going to work :)

just a few thoughts don't know what the rest of you think

thanks

UK, Ireland / Polish and Foreign Drivers in the UK [28]

Torn, why do you so often sound like you were 13 ?

hhhhmmmm let me see i think your just a bad judge :)

so basically, the reason most of europe drives on the wrong side of the road is becasue an insecure little left-handed french man told them to

while i can't agree with what you said i think it dosen't matter what side of the road people drive on its a simple enough thing to adapt to, i'm more worried about those who cannot read the road signs or that think its ok to drive like idiots :)
