News / Air-show accident in Poland [81]

already lost very important personal data because of it.

Pity we couldn't lose Michal though.

I have no idea

Correct

as we do not have such news in England at all.

Incorrect. I read about this on Sky News.

Language / Should I learn both Polish and German [147]

I would have thought that it would be worthwhile you just going and if you have a deep interest in learning you would soon pick up the language

I have looked into it and decided that my Polish is not sufficient enough to be acceptable. Remember that I would be talking to terminally ill people and their loved ones (from day one) in most cases and me blundering on in cracked Polish while they are already distressed enough is not acceptable (to me and colleagues agree), I will see how I am after a year but it's likely two years will be the realism. I'll continue to work in my field here and pick up more knowledge to take with me.

Language / Should I learn both Polish and German [147]

something takes your fancy,

More than that, I intend to be living and working there in 2 years within the palliative care setting. The only reason I am not there now is due to my lack of sufficient Polish.

Here's a Scottish saying for you Admin...

sometimes, you're such an Auld Wifie!

See your point about the capital letters but it won't make any difference if the whole address is typed into a search engine! :)

Sledz - cool design. I'm so unhappy not to be at TOP. Please post pics etc! :)

UK, Ireland / English people attitude towards Poles? [761]

I never look at mori polls

No me neither. Generally these polls reflect about 1000 (or however many people are asked - never more than a couple of thou) people in society and not the British public as a whole.

Night all :)

Night LIR :)

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

they do that for their own long-term goals, not for us!

What's wrong with looking after your own self? I work my rear-end off and, yes, the job I do benefits other people but I work hard to make money so that I am comfortable in my life. I don't think you work for the greater good of others either!

There must be many people like me who log-in, check a few posts and then wander off to do something different. All without logging-off.

Yes, me for one. I've only just got into the habit of logging off! I used to get leave it logged in...imagine how confusing that would be to other members if it said I was logged in 24/7...!

This would be easier.. If you knew where they were.
You could sneak up easier than hunting for them.. Lol

And you cant see who is in a thread when you are in it..
Only from outide..

A good fifteen minutes observation after login and I can pretty much guess where everyone is at...

well can't they do that anyway, with the pm's??

In a sense - yes. However, they won't know if I am here or not. Someone PM's me and I don't want to know about it, I'll delete and ignore it. If they keep doing it I'll click on the report button and say why I am reporting it. It's not the same as being hassled really. If I was online and someone knew it and wanted to hassle me they'd bug and bug me.

yes i see your point, well then its over to the liberals to sort them out and ban them :) all you have to do is report them i guess

Why should I have to report them??? Why should they be allowed to annoy me in the first place???

And believe me, I have more fun watching these days...

maybe that is an issue for PM... ;) (joking...)

what is everybody scared of??

Someone bugging me when I don't want to be bugged? At least if I get a PM or someone asks something of me on the forum, I can answer it when I feel like! If someone knows I am online and not answering they might continually bug me!!! See the point Windy???

Yeeea baby ;) I'm cookin, so I have a lot of emotion flowing :D
