History / Should we use original name of Berlin - "Kopanica" [103]

Well i think all these places are rightfully English...just because we didn,t actually sail there and stick our flag in it , as we did for most of the rest of the world does not mean its not British.....so there....!

Life / PAYING TO TAKE A PISS IN POLAND, it's BIZARRE [77]

Oh don,t get me started on dog poo...One of the things that really psssst me off about the UK...I have to say it seems to be much less of a problem in Poland , at least in the small towns around me.....I am not sure if this is due to the Polish people keeping the streets cleaner , or the fact that Polish dogs run around loose much more and can find a bit of grass to do it on rather than on the pavement where UK dogs which must be on a lead have to do it....

Life / Deadly Roads - "Are polish roads really THAT dangerous?" [139]

they didnt say thankyou though. They never do

This took me some time to get used to....It seems that in Poland people just do not stop for people on crossings like we do in the UK . so when you do it they are somewhat suprised , and think you are maybe going to run over them when they cross....Now i just slow down when i see them , but don,t stop , it just confuses them....

History / Should we use original name of Berlin - "Kopanica" [103]

And we can call York in the UK Eboracum , which was the Roman name for it , and my home town of Scarborough can be renamed Skarthis berg , after the Viking ( skarthi ) who came and raped and plundered there many years ago....Bit of a pain having to buy lots of new maps tho.....

Life / What do people think of Italian Products? [37]

Always wanted a Moto Guzzi

Yes i forgot about the Guzzi...nice machine...never owned one tho....My first Italian bike was a Garreli...50cc , very fast , but skinny tyres that were useless in the wet....Later i had a Ducati darmah , another great bike with fantastic handling , the italian electrics were a problem in the rain tho...I believe they now use Jap electics...

Love / Moved to Poland to my younger boyfriend, now got sick; he's got a new one [194]

to the police in the morning

Please do this , and if you have a lawyer , see him too , and if there is such a thing in Poland , get a restraining order to prevent him coming near you...If you have a job , and he knows where you work you must inform your work friends about the situation so that they can warn you if he is hanging around the place....The fact that he has a girlfriend may make him slightly less inclined to stalk you , but don,t count on it...

I have no wish to scare you to death , but please do take this seriously , and don,t be talked out of doing whatever it takes to ensure your safety...Please understand , people like him do not change the way they are , they can,t , and the situation will only get worse....If its any consolation to you , the girl he is seeing will go through the same thing at some point in the future.....I have sent you a private mesage with my contact details on...if things get really sticky , call me , i will be there...take care...let us all know when you are safe....

Life / Buying an Electrical Adapter in Warsaw [13]

Be prepared for it to fall to bits..or simply stop working after a short time...Polish electrical goods...one of my few complaints about living in Poland...i Reckon i am on my third kettle now , and lost count of the number of torches , mobile phone chargers and car phone chargers i have bought , only to have them stop working weeks later...

he can claim that she also blackmailed him by threatening to talk to his parents.

Its not illegal to tell people the truth...i believe it only gets illegal if she asks for money or favours NOT to tell them , which is not the case here...She needs to tell the Police , so that if anything happens they have some history on the situation , and perhaps warn him what the result of carrying out the threat would be...Perhaps knowing the Police are aware of his threat would help him to realise she is not going to be a helpless victim...He is a bully , and the one thing a bully really can,t deal with...is somebody who is going to put up a fight...

I have had experiance of this kind of person before , and in every case the only way to stop it was by making their lives more unhappy than they are making yours...Even a sociopath gets tired of being arrested , spoken to by the Police , and as a last resort getting their face punched in....Not that i am advising a woman alone to get involved in a punch up with a guy..she will lose...in her case the only solution is to get out of the situation by whatever means , and keep the guy at a distance by legal or otherwise actions....

I understand your point.

It may well be that the guy is just full of hot air , and won,t do anything , but i would not want her to hang around to discover he really is dangerous...I am sure the Police will respond if he does do something bad , thats if she is able to call them...and they get there in time...?

He is not going to travel a great distance and then sit up all night waiting.

I am afraid i disagree....he sounds like the kind of guy who would do exactly that....I went through all this krap with a lady in UK who was being stalked by her ex , no stalking laws in those days...We had months of looney behavour , which i managed to capture on video , it only stopped when the guy went to prison for six months...
