Same here...but its difficult to see them in a good light after seeing all the brutal beheadings of helpless people , and the stoning to death of a 13 year old girl whose only crime was to be raped by three men...she was then accused of adultary....to anyone in a civilised world this is not acceptable...

As far as i am aware you can wander wherever you want as long as you don,t do any damage....I camped up in the Mazury lakes during my trip to Russia , didn,t have any permit...Its very pretty there...

Travel / Backpacking/Camping in Poland [29]
I drove from UK to Russia by Landrover , camping in the forests along the way , never had a problem with anybody in the process....I now live in Poland on my own farm , you are welcome to camp on my land if you are passing this way...no charge , just bring a few sausages to throw on the barbie and a few beers...you will love it in Poland , and as long as you don,t set fire to the forest you won,t have any problem...

I hope his muslim friends accept his Polish girlfriend....Anyone see my posting about the Polish girl in Leeds , my home town..?
A muslim guy has just been convicted of the murder of a Polish girl..! This guy garotted her , stabbed her , then almost beheaded her , all because he did not approve of his muslim friend going out with her...she was 19 years old...The judge said that the knife slash marks on her stomach may have been due to her saying she was pregnant to her boyfriend....nice people...

Oh i suppose they hoped that crashing two airliners into the world trade center would go unoticed....seems some muslims do want attention , and all muslims are now seen by many as a major threat to the world...Untill they rid themselves of the nutters among them they will continue to be subject to hostility from the non muslims of the world...

Iraqi factory worker Abobakir jabari aged 39 has been jailed for life for the murder of Polish teenager Lidia motylska last year in Leeds..This man did not approve of Lidia,s relationship with his flatmate , a fellow muslim , so he garotted , stabbed and almost beheaded this 19 year old girl....I can,t say any more on the subject , as i will be accused of being a racist , which anyone that knows me will know i am not.....I just hope the guy winds up sharing a cell with a twenty stone racist nutter...

I am aware that some of the rivers in Poland are very polluted , but then some in the UK are not so clever either...I guess the question is...how well do they clean the water before pumping it to your taps....?

I have heard it too...but i have never seen any proof its actually unsafe...You would think that the water companies have a legal obligation to provide safe water....even in Poland...

Ha...yes i know all the reasons for boiling water in the wild , but i just wonder why people in Warsaw think its needed...surely its not legal to provide unsafe drinking water....

If the locals say boil it then i guess its a good idea , better to be safe than sorry....I get my water from a well , and i don,t have any problem , not had it checked or anything , but i let some of my Polish friends try it first , and nobody died....Can you maybe get some kind of filter for your water system , or maybe get it checked to see if it is safe to drink..? Why do people say you should boil it , is it due to bacteria , or something else..?

Three mile island wasn.t built by the Soviets , but that came close to a melt down..! Like many people i was ok with nuclear power untill Chernobyl and three mile island showed what can go wrong with this system , and i sure would not want to live next door to one....Last time i was in Chernobyl the people there were pretty sure the power plant is going to explode again , Just what the word needs..? I don,t know what the answer is , maybe it is nuclear power , but i will need a lot of convincing its really safe....Have a look at my friend Elena filatova.s website , she spends a lot of time getting a dose of radiation to tell the story of Chernobyl , if it does not make you cry then you are truly without emotion...

There is nothing wrong with being proud of your country , i am proud of England , my country , as well as having a pride in being a resident of Poland...Sadly being proud of your country is taken to extremes by a minority of nutters who see it as an excuse to be racist....It makes me bloody angry that flying an English flag above my home in the UK would have me labeled as a national front supporter , and no doubt upset Asian people around me....Its the flag of my country for gods sake , one i fought and was prepared to die for , and for the Asians born in the UK its their flag too...The only time i felt able to fly an English flag was on my Landrover during a trip to Poland , Belarus , and Russia , ironic that flying an English flag in Russia caused less of a problem than it would in my country..!
Now i live on my farm in Poland i feel once again happy to fly an English flag above my home , i also have a Polish flag flying despite the fact i have been told its not legal to have it on display apart from special days , but nobody , including the Police seem to have a problem with this....
It saddens me that some young Polish people seem to be ashamed of their country , i was many times told by my students that Poland is no good , and they see only leaving Poland as the way to a good life , many were unaware of the things that Poland has reason to be proud of , the many heroic deeds of Polands soldiers , airmen , and sailors during the war came as a suprise to them when i told them about this....

My friend Ella had a strange experiance in that area...she is a pilot in Polish air force....she said whilst trying to land at her base some looney drove across the runway..! they sent armed patrols after the driver , but he got away....

Mmmm tricky one this...yes i was part of a miltary unit but the guy i bumped into was not a soldier..He was however a wanted killer responsible for a fair few deaths...i don,t really want to say where this took place , but it was not in the UK....

bumped into a bad guy with a gun...face to face stuff....we both fired....i was a better shot...he died..i lived...its probably why i behave responsibly with a gun...i have seen what they can do...

I guess i am a strange one...although i have a historical interest in guns , experiance of using one as a soldier , including being shot by one , and enjoy using one for the sport of target shooting.. i have absolutly no wish to shoot any animal with one...unless , the animal is in pain , its going to eat me , or i will die if i don,t eat it...!

At the end of the day the people who have no interest in guns will never understand those of us that do , and those of us who use guns responsibly will forever be tarnished by the nutters out there...In the same way that car drivers will never see why us bikers should have the right to run around on noisy dangerous motorcycles....Its all about the freedom of the indivdual who has a right to exercise his free will whilst hopefully accepting the rights of others not to suffer for that freedom...I think we shall have to agree to disagree on this one , but it was an inteligent and entertaining argument.....
