Love / "Let's leave beautiful women for men with poor sexual imagination" [150]

I think tusia does not like the idea of competing with polish women. Maybe her boyfriend left her for some "mousy" polish girl, but with a wonderful personality...
some men look for beauty and fun, some for marriage material. Some find both in a polish woman.

Agreed... I think that there's more to this than Tusia is admitting to...

many Polish girls are getting more and more like "party animals" and all that matters for them is a good fun and having sex. I'm from Poland and it makes me a bit sad to write it here, but that's how it is here. To be honest, I have friends who "don't believe in love" and say that dating new boys is the best fun in the world! It's so sad...

Where is this going?

I'm a total party animal - always have been. I'm also in love with my husband.

I'm also British and I'm totally gorgeous - many people on this forum seem to think that the two are mutually exclusive LOL!

Language / Translation Dictionary [10]

I'm really not a great believer of online translation - there are a lot of nuances and anolmalies that they can't pick up. Seeing how they cope English to German makes me laugh.... the word order is all over the place and they can't cope with words that have several meanings.

Life / Is plastic surgery a large part of Polish culture? [35]

They all have plenty of the green stuff.

green stuff... not cabbages and kale then? LOL!!

Your welcome, companies realise that if the staff are healthy they have less time off sick so a few £/$ a few on some fruit saves $$/££ a year on sick pay or at least contributes to keeping people healthy, unlike some vending machine full of crips (chips) or chocolate

It makes a lot of sense... sadly none of the companies that I have ever worked for in the UK have been so generous :(

I now work as a freelance from home... I'd imagined that I'd get to spend several hours a day at the gym as I could plan my own routine, but the reality is that a fridge full of cheese is much more tempting when I get really busy :(

Travel / Best way to travel from Szczecin to Katowice [6]

Am I right in thinking that there are no direct flights? Would a flight that changes in Warsaw be expensive / a ball-ache?

What about the train? Any other alternatives (a private jet / helicopter being out of the question).

Belgium is the key hotspot for this - for obese people in the UK at least.

Cosmetic surgeons must be rubbing their hands with glee.... after extreme weight-loss, there's lots of flab to trim down....

What? All of them? Nah, don't kid yourself....

Also, bear in mind that there is cosmetic surgery and cosmetic surgery - having your ears pinned back or a breast reduction for health / emotional reasons is a completely different kettle of fish to wanting bigger boobs like Pamela Anderson or whoever....

In the US It is popular for girls at 18 to get breast alterations and other things.

Only if you believe what you see on Laguna Beach and other trashy teen shows.

I have a lot of female friends in the US, and can vouch than none of them have ever had a boob job.

Life / Grafitti in Warsaw [44]

Bonhams recently had a sale of Banksy's work. The prices were crazy -

My neighbourhood is the backdrop to some of Banky's stuff (plus plenty of fake Banksy wannabes)

Please, please, please don't do as the rather misguided Americam student whom I met in a club in Krakow once.... he was wearing a Russian Millitary coat and hat combo and calling himself "The Tsar"

Life / Styles in Poland: What do people wear? [65]

Well, I was one of the sarcastic ones. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings - it just didn't seem like that serious a subject. I guess I never thought anyone would really worry about their clothes that much.
For what it's worth, you should be fine wearing what you normally wear.

Totally agree!

yup - I was taking the pi.ss too - but only in a light hearted way. Sorry for any offence caused, however I've travelled extensively over the years, yet never felt out of place in terms odf style / clothes.

Life / Styles in Poland: What do people wear? [65]

No 1 Polish girls do go to hair dressers....

So do Brit, Swede, German, Irish girls.... your point is?

No 2 They dont need a tan applied aka...spray on agent orange look-alike...majority have a natural sallow complexion, tan very easily and naturally.

Rubbish. Some do. Some don't.

And a tan isn't the be all and end all.... I have similar colouring to Julianne Moore and I get hit upon all the time ;)

No 3 They seem far less artificial than most UK girls...................at least in the nails department...:)

Again... what a croc. Some do and some don't. There are babes and mingers in Poland just like there are in England.

Are you bitter about UK girls? LOL
