well, he is not that useless - he is good for teasing;)

Hey! I only react to you because you are saying every now and then something that makes sense, unlike Shelley, who is actually in love with me and is trying her little game by ignoring me - so transparent... :)

M-G (funny how these females always think they're on the upper hand - just by playing along with them. Ah well, I just let them:) )

I don't know what you are talking about. I was merely addressing the fact that some people like to stick to their own culture and there is nothing wrong with it.

As for my comment on TripTic's question, I was just being funny.

I have almost 4000 posts and I already have discussed the Polish guys are better/Polish girls are the best. I just like to move beyond those topics -so you can see where I am coming from?

There is nothing wrong with sticking to your own culture, of course. But you can stick to your own culture while interacting (not only on a workrelated basis) with ppl from different cultures as well. It's called Global Village :) And I encourage this as it will lead to more understanding and tolerance, I guess. And to an enrichment of any culture in the world.

You are very funny though :)

Yeah, that's a good point - discussing this topic is pointless; what basically said is that Polish ppl are better/worse than other ppl, which is nonsense: there are gorgeous chicks in or from Poland and there are hidious chicks in/from Poland; just like there are *ssholes and good guys from Poland. Just like everywhere else in the world. Does anybody realise that threads like this are basically racist in nature? I like my lady a lot and the fact that she happens to come from Poland, doesn't make this any different than if she would've come from Sweden or Australia or where ever.

M-G (we always seem to agree though, M:) )

it seems like you have little access to Polish blokes in general and you are forming your opinions walking down the street. Some Polish girls like to be with somebody who is from the same culture because it is easier. Some people like challanges, some don't. It depends where one is in life and what people feel comfortable with.
I like Polish men, beause most of them have manners and are not shallow, as some Westerners are.

Did you read the part of the aimable ones? I am trying to be as balanced in my judgement as possible, as I always am. But ppl only read what they want to read. I have about 25 Polish girlies and blokes working for me at the moment and I know quite some Polish ppl through them. So I think I can say I have a pretty good view on them. I am sorry I have to say this, but even though I know them, they still pretty much fit the description as mentioned in my previous post. And about the challenges: why go abroad if you don't like challenges? Going abroad as such is a challenge in itself and everything you do there will be more of a challenge than it would be at home. I think that if you just want to stick with ppl from your home-country, you shouldn't go abroad at all. (edit: I can understand when you want to do this in the first few months abroad, but after this one should take up the challenge and get ahead in life) This not only goes for Polish ppl, but I noticed this behaviour also with Spanish, Italian and French ppl. I base my judgements solely on my observations and experiences. The fact that I find somebody a monolythic neanderthaler does not mean that I do not like them. Au contraire. In fact the statement that you made that most of them have manners and are not shallow is one gross generalisation. There are good ppl and there are bad ppl everywhere. It's not just a priviledge of the Polish ppl to have this distinct advantage.

M-G (don't know - I discuss with loads of ppl, just as it is intended on fora)

Miranda :)

Anyway, it could be me, but most of the Polish blokes I know are monolythic neanderthalers, working in construction, after 7 years in Dublin still not speak a decent word of English and generally seem to indulge in their misery, wanting to go back to Poland and in the meantime making about 800 to 900 Euros a month and sharing a house with six likewise characters. Exceptions do the rule again and I also have to say that I've met quite some intelligent, aimable Polish guys, but mostly it's as above. Generally, Polish girlies are very nice to look at, but the guys they walk beside are just gross; I always wonder what these girls see in those blokes...

M-G (grossly exceeded the 10 word-limit, but this post was intended as reaction to the Polish blokes post)

Let me guess: Cucko is a Serb and posted formerly as Crow?

News / Eurovision Song Contest: Isis Gee to represent Poland [156]

what is the brown envelope policy?

You are my friend - I will make sure you get the most points if you give them to me. Works better in a workrelated environment, though. Friends get the better positions, even though they might not be suitable: they're friends, that's why.

M-G (in Holland we call this the "Friends-policy" - everybody knows what it is, but it's kinda hard to explain. Hope I made it a little clearer to ya)

News / Eurovision Song Contest: Isis Gee to represent Poland [156]

Dustin is indeed a legend :) But to be honest, they better can rename the Eurovision Songfestival into the Eastern Europe Songfestival; last few years it's quite disgusting, this brown envelope-policy that is going on there. The winner HAS to come from some E-European country, it seems. No wonder that big countries like Italy have pulled out. There is no way they can stand up to all this. So, I basically don't care who's gonna be the representative for Poland, she's probably gonna win anyway.

News / What do Polish friends think of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton? [226]

I'm so tired of the prejudice and moral majority here.

Why do ppl always forget that this is factually the raison d'être of the US? This is the very core of the nation: fled religious groups prosecuted in the old country for being religious deviates or fanatics. I don't think it's surprising the Americans are like that. It's their foundation.

Love / Are Polish men more loyal than English men? [38]

But I think they have quite high standards. They really do want someone who is the good cook and housekeeper, takes care of herself physically, and spoils them rotten....career is fine as long as it doesn't interfere with the above.

Hm, you call this high standards? I'd rather call it an archaic attitude towards womanhood. The time has passed that women only should cook and take care of her hubby who's -for X's sake- some construction worker or something. If they are really looking for that, then they gonna have a hard time finding one; especially in the Western World. Equality rules and I think women should have just as much chances as men in the world. We are not living in the Interbellum anymore.

I am not Polish, but I do have high standards; I like my ladies to be intelligent, independent, self-sufficient and definitively not clingy...

UK, Ireland / 2 Polish men killed in Drimnagh, Dublin [29]

I would rather say: two guys minding their own business and being at the wrong time at the wrong place. I don't think it has anything to do with them being Polish. The cr*p that attacked them would've attacked anyway - would it be Poles, Irish, Dutch, British, that doesn't matter.

whats wrong in saving contact with old ex's ?

Nothing, if it's on a friendly basis, not when it's to control each and every movement the girl makes.

I don't think it was because they were Polish. They just happened to be at the wrong place, at the wrong time. It, however, is time that the Irish government starts to realise they have a severe problem with its teenagers. Right now, the law says that even if a bunch of big, muscelbound teenagers of 16 or 17 years old, beat you up, they will just get a warning. But if you defend yourself and hit one back and you are over 21, you will get arrested and end up with a fine or in jail because you hit a minor. This happened to a friend of mine: he was attacked and beaten up by five 16 year olds. He just hit one back in the face and that kid goes to the police while the others hold my friend to the ground. Gardai come and arrest my friend and gave him a month's jail + 3000 Euro fine for hitting a child.

Dublin is not as bad as it seems, there are just some areas you don't want to go at night, just like any other cities.

Love / why is the older women such a problem for polish guys [37]

Whatever it means, the Polish society is not so open and tolerant towards various groups as its Western counterparts. Remember that communism which lasted in Poland from 1945 to 1989, was like a giant freezer.

Tommy you grasp the essence of what I mean pretty decent. By coming of age indeed I mean having national debates about controversial issues. Taking certain subjects out of the zone of being ridiculed, prosecuted or something. I am sure Poland will come of age in due time and I do realise that over 50 years of communism did not help.

It's just that I come from a very forward society and maybe I just have to get used to the fact that not every society is like the one I was brought up in. I use that society as a point of measure against other societies.

Actually, the older man with the young chick and the older chick with the young dude was meant as a joke...But I prefer younger ladies anyway than the ones my age. :)

M-G (keep it up, dude, you have a good attitude)

Yes, in Poland social approval for younger male/older woman relationships is much lower than the other way round

I'm just wondering: Polish society has trouble with older women dating younger men; women dating black ppl, homosexual ppl, Polish girls dating non-Polish men and vice versa... Would this be symptoms of a coming of age of the Polish Society?

M-G (when a older woman dates a younger man she's exhalting her femininity; when an older man dates a younger woman, he's just a pervert)

Angel, you seem to switch status with every post you do; then you are married, then you are having trouble communicating with your Polish man who is in Poland at the time and now another fellow? Quite the busy body, are ya?

The good thing is, we have a choice to go out and about. To choose not to do so has nothing to do with being boring or having some mental issue. You just choose NOT to go out and save a buck :)

Like said earlier: the lady's on a girlie night out and I'm waiting for her to get back and I took the chance to be all alone to write some new music as I didn't feel like going into town tonight :)

M-G (went out last night and in an expensive place like Dublin, well, yeah; I don't like to spend 100 Euros when I don't feel like going out and see some replaceable faces, know what I mean? Besides that: I type very fast, so the netto time spent on this forum is not that much :) )

No, sex strengthens friendship, and from my own personal experiences, it always solves disagreements and bickering. Simply let the girl know, and hopefully she will be in the mood, and Voila! Your problems are solved.

Still, I will NOT have sex with him!

Well, it's not yet the case, but if he really wants; I have never ran away from anything; if he wants to beat me up. He can try. Although his arms are twice the size of mine, I'm not weak either :) About the immaturity: that's why I wrote he's not the sharpest tool in the shed...

Hm, my lady's Polish ex- seems to be very posessive and protective. I'm 6 foot 2 and he's 6 foot 5 and has arms twice the size of mine. He's not the brightest tool in the shed. Should I be afraid?

M-G (has never been afraid of anybody in his life, but does not fancy being beaten up by somebody with issues not caused by him)
