Life / Poles Abroad - leaving the country for various reasons [20]

While reading the PolReport it felt like I was reading my personal experiences.
In the past, there were numerous occasions when I felt like going back to Poland.
I acclimated to American way of life. But, I do not feel that I am an American nor do I feel that I am a Pole.

News / Polish government punishes charitable givers [25]

I work in the social services area, not with homeless or destitute.
I have observed that some people do abuse social welfare system;
the more services they are offered, the more they abuse the system.

Disable people should be assisted.

News / Polish government punishes charitable givers [25]

Yes, I agree.

The government’s approach will make the people less dependent on handouts and will motivate them to do something about their lives.
You have Eastern Europeans coming to Poland looking for work. ?????????

I know that I will piss off many of you.

UK, Ireland / Poles in Ireland - integration? [41]

Ten years ago no one in Poland knew where Ireland was but when the economic boom came it was like 'we know where Ireland is and we want to go there'," said Beata Golczak, 26, who arrived in Dublin a year ago and works in a travel agency.

Beata Golczak is one of the few Poles who did not know where Ireland is. :P

Life / Indian moved to Poland [532]

Sudheer,

erasmus

Who, what is eramus?

I used to be with the business strategy and was working on the investments around the world one of which was the busines center in Wroclaw. Hence, when it was time for a job change I decided to come to the center that I saw growing from a distance and work here for a while.

When you worked in the investments around the world area, what investment area (s) did you focus on? Was it real estate, bio-companies, natural resources companies, etc? What area specifically. What kind of returns investments were you looking for? In Poland, what area (s) do feel offer great investment opportunities?

Work / Pay, salary in Poland. [54]

read this story...even though it is about the increase in plastic surgery patients in Poland it talks of the ever increasing size of the middle class and increase in salaries in Poland over the years. Within 10 years I'd say that Polish salaries will be equlivilent to western standards

I read it. It is sad. Poland becoming more Western.
What will happen to those naturally good looking Polish women? Will they look Western?
I have seen women with breasts augmentation. When they walk, their breasts do not bounce up and down, shake, etc. When you touch augmented breasts, they feel like rubber balls.

Life / About Polonia (Polish migrants who live or work abroad) [16]

I think that its basically because people wear two size smaller shoes and very tight jeans in Poland. Ever tried to smile with squeezed testicles

I see Poles are copying/adopting Western ways.

When I was a kid in Poland, my parents always bought me shoes two sizes larger, so the shoes would last me long time.

you bloody ignorant bastard

Matyjasz,
That is harsh.

Perhaps, he is going through an identity crisis.
Maybe, he tried too hard to fit into a British society.
Maybe , he is insecure.
No matter what, I think that we should be more understanding?

UK, Ireland / Poles in Ireland - integration? [41]

Hello,
I am a journalist with metro eireann, multicultural newspaper in Dublin. I am eager to speak with more Poles to get better insight into their lives in Ireland. Especially, I want to know how 'integrated' they feel in Ireland.
Best wishes
Catherine Reilly

I would like Cato to stay and partake in this forum.
She has integrity. She told us what she was looking for.
She did not use chicanery to gather information about Polish life in Ireland. She said, “I am eager to speak with more Poles to get better insight into their lives in Ireland.”

After Cato completes her search, I would like to learn what she discovered.

Life / About Polonia (Polish migrants who live or work abroad) [16]

[

It's so simple:
We of the Older Emigration in the UK (say pre-1989) hate the NEWER emigration, especially arrivals since 2004.

It took years, nay decades, for us to gain the respect of the Brits. Now you've all ruined it for us, in just two short years

You are only responsible for yourself, your own actions. If you lost “respect of the Brits”, than you never had it.
I am sure that most British are sophisticated enough, and are able to distinguish between a person deserving respect and a person who does not.

My impression of you: angry, lonely, obnoxious person.

I do not think that you speak for a group of people that immigrated to UK before 1989.

Are you looking for pity?

UK, Ireland / Poles in Ireland - integration? [41]

Regarding the grammar, parisien, you have a unique gift in identifying small but basic errors, you should not waste your talent on this forum but establish your own Grammar Academy. God gives most of us one major talent, and this might be yours. Don't waste it!

Thank you Cato. :)
That is hilarious.
I like your sarcasm.

P.S.

Parisien is correct.

"Surely there are much easier ways of getting info on this topic...ie....walk into ANY filling station, hotel, shop, restaurant....in Ireland.....who will be behind the counter etc....?.....................there ya go...no need to come back to this board.......sorted..!!"

so why say jaja on its own means oh shit

"Ale jaja" refers to a foul situation. A situation or an outcome that occurred unexpectedly.

Spoiled eggs smell, they have foul smell. This why the expression is used.

jaja means eggs
