UK, Ireland / What's it really like being a Polish worker in the UK? [25]

i think the polish come here because they can and they think life will be better-just like- the english go to spain-some have plans many just take it as it comes-but i think many go or eventually go back. i also think the traditional family values and expectations can be suffocating-so they come here for some "freedom" of expression-these people must then become confused by what they really want-hence the answer "dunno"

Life / "well-off" income in poland [26]

jeesss i have never justified my decisions to anyone before ... !!!!

i never asked you to justify your decisions- think you are very brave!

most polish people here in the uk seem to work full-time hours plus overtime or have 2or 3 jobs and you manage on what you have comimg in. i was just wondering how you would manage in poland?as it appears your income in england is considered average in poland-so i am sure you are researching everything-so what do you reckon you could survive on in poland? and if you can survive on average wage-why are all the polish moaning about things if poland has better quality of life-just a little confused-

Love / couples in love in poland who do not live together-why? [4]

it is still considered morally wrong.

his sister has two children and she isnt married she lives with her partner- i think it may have something to do with her family keeping him away from her-he got her pregnant at 16-he says he loves her- i said why are you not together then- he doesnt talk about it-he has no photos of her or the child-the child and the girlfriend do exist- i have spoken to her- just wondered what people on here think- before you get the wrong idea i have a boyfriend-so i am not interested in my polish friend romantically-he is such a nice person just want to help him-

Or their families feel they shouldn't

- you mean they dont like him/her?-BUT if you love someone how can you bear this?

Life / "well-off" income in poland [26]

I think it's the family aspect that is bringing Poles back in their droves.

do you mean-after the initial thrill of the bright lights and the money-its the close family they miss-or are families in trouble because of husband away-seems to be a lot of "affaires"-i have been reading some posts on here about polish lovers leaving their british lover with little or no explaination-just dropping them

Life / "well-off" income in poland [26]

my friend-a welder from the shipyards in poland-says no work there-earned about £600-800-a month-so above average-but he has little in the way of clothes and materialistic items-portrays himself as poor-he has been told he could double even treble his wage here if he works as welder-

so is he just greedy?
and wwaht happens if he works here for a few years-goes back to poland-how can hw then expect to live within his averasge income again?

its just that i have heard people say- the polish come to england to earn their money they go back home-to what?- is it just boastful to have a bigger house or something?

UK, Ireland / Advice for my Polish friend who came to the UK to work [22]

why is there such hostility to someone wanting to improve their life chances?
will my friend be faced with this when he comes here? has any polish person now in britain who is on this forum experienced these negative attitudes?
