My bad, I've been guilty of generalising but you always do it, Sok. Clearly, not all Jews are well-versed in manners. How many Jews died compared to the number of Poles, Sok? They are irate and they see Poland as having played a part in their extermination. Many of us have been suckered in by propaganda and distortion. For example, I believed the Serbs were bad, that 9/11 was carried out by a man in a cave and that Russia started the war in Georgia. How time changed that!!! I have reversed all 3 now.
Well, Tusk has Jewish leanings so I am not holding my breath that he will take any kind of stand on the issue.

I look around and I see many unenterprising looking people. How on earth does such a dour buffoon make money? (I often ask myself this) Maybe there's a private source of collective funds that are eluding us? ;)
Greed should never get in the way of practicality. I just dislike the fact that I am at the behest of others making rules that aren't commensurate with our salary as a married couple. My 4 main monthly expenses come to over 2000PLN a month and I'll be damned if I have to run twice as fast to stay in the same place.
I feel it acutely when I check out properties here. The recurring thought, how on earth can I finance this and do I have the will to do so? Ah well, distractions are available ;) ;)

Of course sth is wrong, Sok. It's the brainwashing element and that is blatant. How come it is only common knowledge to the Jews that Polish concentration camps (cc's) existed? We all know of the Nazi ones but Polish? This is one case where the British press is more objective, or even has a very slight leaning towards the Jews. I learned about the Holocaust at school and not once did I hear of any Polish cc's. Unlike American press and teaching, British stuff is more impartial.

Very good points made here. I'm not into voodoo myself but many Poles seem to be. Witchcraft and black magic books adorn my shelves as they belong to my wife. Maybe they are avid D&D players and have summoning spells where they turn leaves into 100PLN banknotes :) ;)
Joking aside, I foresee a slump too. As the Beastie Boys once said, 'something's gotta give'. Salaries here are frighteningly low compared with prices and various costs. Putting money down is going to be a major problem as many are heavily reliant on credit as it is. Disposable income cannot be flashed around too easily by most people.
However, you could say that it's the price you pay for snobbery! 7000PLN a square metre is absurd! I have inspected many properties here this year and I don't like what I am getting for my money. Now that I am married, special arrangements exist which may make it viable.

My friend was livid and, even though she understood that it was my first day and hadn't locked into the habit of taking them off, she lambasted me and told me not to repeat that.
However, any drinking was done responsibly in the park, harming no-one and respecting the rights and privacy of others around me.
Sokrates, look at the nature of their actions. When drunk, things like that happen and they temporarily lose their reasoning. Although I can't condone it, it happens. Spreading NAZI symbols is a different thing entirely but they are just victims of false teaching. However, the key theme is respect for others but you have to understand the indoctrination of the Jews. It's the same as any youth. My Scottish friend is coming to Kraków next summer with his buddies and I told him to respect the place as many Brits don't. I have very little respect for Brits who go abroad for parties and get overly rowdy.
Thankfully, we still have the situation where we are visiting another country and should acknowledge our status as guests there.

By 'cannot' I meant shouldn't, or ought not to as it's a bit stronger. Żegota and the good deeds alluded to by Szpilman and others obviously counted for nothing. They have to see it from the point of view of Poles. There is no escaping the fact that it was VERY difficult to shield Jews from the SS. They were taking a risk by even trying.
People will never fulyl understand history if they can't follow the verstehen approach.

What's that Morrissey song where he talks of an inbuilt guilt catching up with you, coming round and then slapping your face? It just struck me as appropriate to describe some women here. They will have sex with you but their conscience will gnaw away at them later. It's like they are first going with their biological instincts, which is good, and then they suddenly have recourse to church teachings which they suddenly see fit to follow. Relax, love is what God intended :) (as long as it is that).
