Life / Homosexuals in Poland / Hands off (PETITION) [797]

Its not a medical condition randal, why are you so interested anyway?

He's wonder where he can get a "cure" from :)

and guys who are comfortable being straight dont have a problem with it ...

Very true, me and my ex used to go down Canal Street in the summer and he didn't have an issue :)

This is a manufactured wives tale. Are you an old wife?

Untrue - homophobes are scared - that's why they have "phobe" on the end of it :) What are they scared of? Judging by your posts, it might because they are scared of "catching" gayness ;0)

Thank you constantine, its a private matter.

Believe it or not Patty, gay people just live like hetrosexual people, they don't feel the need to parade through the streets :) Of course there are a few queens and screemers that even annoy your average gay bloke :)

News / More and more jobs moving to Poland from other parts of Europe... [50]

I explained what you asked me to.

Regarding your last question, there are no winners:

My reasons:

The poor worker in Sri Lanka is the way he is because his government doen't give a shite about him, because his government doesn't give a shit about him, it allows him to be taken advantage of, the poor worker doesn't pay tax this in turn doesn't improve his country or the standard of his life.

The worker in europe who used to do the job the poor Sri Lankan does has lost his job and his income and therefore unable to spend the money goods he used to buy before, some of the goods he used to buy are produced by this poor Sri Lankan guy.

The companies profits fall because their target market no longer has the spending capacity it used to have.

In short, in the longer term, there are no real winners. LIke I said it's all about turning a quick buck these days, nothing built to last and no one has a job for life - everyone and everything is disposable. As James Dean said "Live Fast Die Young"

Sorry to hear about your job loss, but glad you are making something positive out of it :0)

News / More and more jobs moving to Poland from other parts of Europe... [50]

It's all relative, if a company upsticks and moves to one of "those" countries, then a community loses jobs, people lose their homes, there is a whole knock on effect on the economic growth in a region. When the company sets up in the new country (say for instance asia) the expections of the workers is much lower, no health & safety regulations, no working hours directive, no minimum wage, no holiday pay, no sick pay, no maternity leave pay....in fact no rights whatsoever, it stands to reason why the product is cheaper, we live in a consumer driven society, a disposable society, wasn't Woolworths the first to introduce the bargin bins, buy it high sell it low...it's just come back to bit us in the bum really.

I don't think you care a bit about Gay issues, but you love to bash muslims in any occasion you find, your posts around the forum shows that.

you're the last person to use the word civilised since you call asians "PAKIS".

Stick to the thread,it's about Homosexuals in Poland(title).

If you look at the link you twat, you will see it was about homosexuals and as Jonni mention, he has some gay friends who have moved to Poland because of the persecution in their own countries, countries which were muslim. If you bother to open the link I provided it was not about bashing muslims, it was about gay people who happened to be muslim.

Quote:

This isn't an anti-religion documentary - far from it, the subjects are deeply religious and struggle to reject the readings of the Qur'an which condemns them.

You may also want to note, Jonni appreciated my post.

Nice post which sums up a lot of what the political gay movement is about.

As for gay and lesbian people from Islamic countries, I know a few who have come here to Warsaw for a better life.

Also you know nothing about me and whether I support gay issues has absolutely nothing to do with you, but there may be a clue in this about my views:

Thanks. I have gay friends who are normal people, they do not try and pass their "gayness" on to me, same as I do not try and pass my "straightness" on to them. If people accepted people for who they are, people would not have to parade through the streets.

ESAD!

Regarding this:

you're the last person to use the word civilised since you call asians "PAKIS".

I had refrained from using the above word until FP thought it was okay for him to call me a Jew which in itself isn't an issue, but the tone he used is! By the way I may start to get offended being called Brit! Same difference!

You use the word civilised, which is quite rich coming off you!

I watched an interesting prog the other evening called "Jihad for Love" it followed gay and lesbians from Islamic countries, some were forced to flee because of their feelings, all of them would have changed if they could, it kind of proves that we can't help who we are and also shows that we should be grateful to be able to live in countries where we are able to be who we are without fear.

Life / MEN'S DAY and FEMALE CHAUVINIST SWINE? Situation in Poland. [46]

Womens' day is to celebrate:

"Women's Day came on March 8, 1917 in Russia when women organized mass strikes over the war and a failing economy. At this time Russian women created a sensual revolt of their own. In a restrictive society that controlled voting as well as what women wore, first as a political statement , then out of necessity, Russian women broke out of their traditional mold to fight alongside their men for the revolutions...in pants and boots."

It has nothing to do with being pampered by your nearest and dearest, funny how this has been so manipulated.

Travel / An experience on the train in Warsaw [30]

Here in the UK they would have kicked the crap out of you and just taken the money. (it's called mugging) They are a lot more creative in Poland - they make an effort to extract peoples money instead of just taking you down an alley. Consider yourself lucky you were in Poland.

Do you not have muggers in Poland? The OP was talking about staff (that means someone in paid employment of a company) trying extort money from him and when he refused they man-handled him (that means roughed him up slightly). In England we buy a train ticket, it gets checked at the barrier and then you get on the train, the ticket is then checked again, if you have the right ticket you are fine, if you are trying to fair dodge then you are charged a penalty for doing so, you are given a receipt for said penalty. No one man handles you ;0) It's a bit different to being mugged by a stranger, No?

b) Can I work in all the countries in Europe with my Poland Work permit.

No, you have a permit to work in Poland, you would need a permit to work in any of the other EU countries as you are not an EU national.

c) Can I switch my job in Poland or other countries in Europe

See above answer.

Is there any condition like I need to be in Poland for 2 yrs., only then my dependants can join me.

Wouldn't you be best off looking at Polish government site to find this information out.

a) Can I visit all the countries in Europe with my Poland Work permit.

You may be able to travel in the Schengen zone, this does not include the UK.

Is there any condition like I need to be in Poland for 2 yrs., only then my dependants can join me.

Im sure you will be able to bring your dependents, but you will need to show you are able to support them fully, i.e. they will not have access to any public funds and Im sre that they will need private health insurance.

UK, Ireland / More Polish workers leaving the Isles [28]

A friend of mine left the UK in mid December, he hasn't worked yet :( He's heading off to Germany, the company he worked for in the UK has laid of most of the agency staff who happened to be Polish - he actually left a perm job here, family pressure was the reason - wifey wanted him home, understandably, but didn't really think about his job prospects :(

He has had offers of work, but wont work for the money on offer in Poland!

Do Londoners not look down at country people?.

I'd say not, most Londoners dream of moving to the country, but alas would never be able to afford it...WB explained that in a simplistic way, villages in the UK are expensive to purchase property in.

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

Any race or nation emigrated to other countries have the duty to welcome anybody

We dont have a duty to do anything, that was a rather arrogant statement, I have duty to be a good daughter, sister, aunt and friend, but i do NOT have a duty to welcome any tom dick and harry who wants to come to the UK. Simples!

as an opinion or belief i do respect that, however we can't say to black guy who's his great grand father born in UK or brought as slave he's not welcome as it was said by white guy who his father is Irish.

Who is the “we” you’re not English. As for those that have been here for generations, those that have assimilated into the UK and respect English laws and traditions, fine, those that chose to live on the fringes should go back to where they came from if they don’t like it here. Regarding the Irish, we have a long standing history with them and as a guest in my country you should read a bit of history before throwing them in to the discussion.

Let me tell you an anecdote,it was journalist asked polish worker representative in UK tv(it happen to be polish): what do you say to british workers who are saying you taking their jobs?

the answer was: I don't see any problem we're whites and christians.

He was right, as long as they abide by the laws in the UK.

some poeple would welcome a white immigrant but not any other race or religion, that's the problem.

What’s the problem? There are lots of British people going over to Poland to settle, how many Brits are going over to Africa or Asia to settle? It’s a one way thing and that the problem.

supervised immigration i would say maybe yes,but we can't tell to the asians who were brought to build Britain after the war you're not welcome and go back to your country.

They were not brought, they were allowed, there’s a big difference, some were even refugees – you do remember the Ugandan Asians that were expelled by Idi Amin, you see everyone is so quick to call the British for not wanting their country to be more over populated than it already is, but Africans have been guilty of expelling people from their country?? Double standards, No?

he's as british as the queen if not more(german ancestor) or prince charles(greek father).

What is your point? We were also invaded by Normans, doesn’t make us French though and the tradition of taking a German spouse dates back generations, it's only recently that the Royal family name was anglosized - read a bit of English history, you might learn something!

It's interesting but bears no resemblance to how extremists who act in the name of mohammad behave.

This is a rather fluffy interpretation and we know the Koran is open to many many interpretation.

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

Sean i made my point clear before, i think UK is fucking

I think we better change that to "fucked" as in past tense :)

One thing, poles have a lot to catch up with other european neighbours such as UK.

Don't kid yourself, most Brits don't want the immigrants here - you're a bit foolish if you think that everyone is a fluffy liberal with open arms!

News / More and more jobs moving to Poland from other parts of Europe... [50]

Yes I understand that there has been a big change in the last ten years. However, bankers were not getting the same large bonuses as they get today for doing F...all. Nobody seems to to slagging them off. They are the real criminals behind all of this shit britain is in today. All they do is distribute wealth, do nothing but speculate then pull out when its okay for them, usuallly surprisingly, just before a collapse!

That's a whole different problem and the thread isn't about the financial systems in place in the UK, we have been aware for years that banks are ripping us off, hence the reason people started to claim their bank charges back. The thread is about jobs being exported abroad and how this is affecting the UK.

it`s a catch 22 situation. transfer all the work to where it`s cheapest but you destroy the very market to which you want to sell the products back to.

if the so called rich western consumer has no job then then i`m afraid the lcd tv and new car will have to sit rusting at the docks. in the end the companys are cutting there own throats.

Bingo!

News / More and more jobs moving to Poland from other parts of Europe... [50]

I do not want Europe to become helpless consumers.

But that is fastly what we are becoming, we dont even deal with half of the customer service sector jobs now since what can be out outsourced has been outsourced.

They will not all move to asia.

Im sure 20 years ago people who worked for BT on their customer services team, wouldn't have imagined losing their jobs to someone in an Indian call centre!

Countries with little regard for human rights let alone working conditions will always win, since they can produce a product far cheaper - we are, after all price driven, so it only makes sense that products will be imported from these kind of places, and therein lies the problem!

No Sean its the same opportunities for a cheaper price! Large firms relocating to Poland has beeen going on for the last 10 years I don't see why there is such a panic now amongst the British. I suppose when the "chips are down".

Ten years ago we had more in the way of industry, ten years ago immigration was not as much as a problem as it is today, ten years ago we were starting to build the country again after our last recession, ten years ago we didn't seem to have the same level of anti social behaviour problems we have today, in short lexi a lot has happened in ten years and Britain is going down the pan with large industries moving to other countries, meaning less jobs, yet the influx of migrant workers grows, not a good recipe for a good economy and not good for British people.

Travel / Going to visit Poland for long period of time - need passport? [25]

I googled 'get a polish passport' but after clicking on one of the links,

If you are not Polish, you are not eligable for a Polish passport.

So I see there a number of different ways to get a passport. Online or via my post office/courthouse. I wonder how much it will cost if I get a passport...say...that would expire May 1, 2009.....or January 1, 2010...Anyone know much about the pricing..how they price it, etc.?

If you are an american citizen, you will get an American passport, I am assuming that like most passports it will be a 10 year passport. As already stated, if you plan to stay for longer than 90 days you WILL need a visa.
