Wealth is a relative thing, it depends on ur classification systeminter alia. People who do PhD's (doctorates) are often not taken on by companies out of fear or a perception that they lack 'real world' experience. They often don't get a chance to be 'wealthy'. Also, let's assume that wealth is ur goal. Talking about it bores people and will lose u friends so u r just satisfying urself and like-minded wealth-obsessed individuals by talking about it. I know many people who went to Uni, dropped out but are now very wealthy. It is widely known that graduates often do jobs not befitting of their education and unrelated. Becoming wealthy is often an art, perfected by a few and not 90% or anything like it.

Again, no offence Greg but being better educated, more creative and working harder doesn't guarantee wealth. Professors are educated but not always loaded, scientists are creative but often get paid little and manual labourers work hard, poorly paid too. The job market changed, more job share schemes started popping up, part-time work became more common, both of which weren't what most Scottish graduates were looking for. Therefore, they looked elsewhere. Immigrants have different expectations of the job market but much depends on keeping immigration at a managable level. I don't profess to be well up on the dental industry, I was just basing it on what I heard. If u r right, then u r right. What I do know is that Polish dentists are welcome in Scotland. We offered them golden handshakes as I researched the issue on behalf of sb. Sweden is also but that's beside the point. We need more working immigrants. Many of the jobs I saw going in Job Centres back home paid peanuts and had less than favourable conditions. Such places attracted alkies who felt that they should have a look at what was on offer but not commit. Pierogi for 6 quid, that's expensive. I can get 7 pyrogów for 4.50zl, about 85p. And they are VERY filling and tasty. That's from a milk bar (bar mleczny). For 6 pyrogów in Gazdówka, it's 14.50zl, that's 3 quid only. That's a top class restaurant that caters for business clientele. So, 6 quid is steep

My friend worked in Poland for 1.5 years and is now working in Albania. He said he prefers Albania. He's back in Poland for a while and he told me some Albanian words, cool. He works in Permet. The Scots have been remarkably tolerant as maybe they are more sure of the skills that they have and what they can bring to the job market. I'd like to see it this way but maybe the reality is that Scotland hasn't experienced the second wave of Poles. The English were initially welcoming to Poles but when hordes starting coming across, the tide turned and the tune changed. The job market was swamped. I have the same fears of Macduff. Scots and Poles are quite alike and that may help keep down any flare-ups
