UK, Ireland / Poles and Britis - why we should hate each other? [38]

Yeah, it appears that I've been the only one to defend anything that he has said. I think he has been hit by a reality check. Where's that 'You're out of touch' song when u need it?

UK, Ireland / Gang attack Polish man with knife [87]

There are those who are intolerant. I've had people telling me off for speaking English here but Poles have the decency not to attack. I applaud this!!

I often hear about these anti-foreigner skinheads, especially from Katowice, but I have never run into any such people which makes me question just how prevalent it is.

Exactly!! Moral duty is moral duty. Also, well said Osioł. I read ur post a moment ago and wrote on the brother thread the same thing, i.e the Brits knew little about POLES 10 years ago. We knew the main things about Poland but not the people.

He should be pointing the finger at Germans for thievery accusations. There is a well-known idea that when a German comes to Poland to buy a car, he is likely buying his own car back. The Poles laugh about this.

UK, Ireland / UK Poles attack Daily Mail 'bias' [33]

Plus, we are all subjected to views that we don't necessarily agree with, often on a daily basis. I find him pretty amusing, I don't take what he says to heart. He sometimes has some valid arguments.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but that's his 2nd time in the sinbin. Isn't it 3 strikes and u r out, as in baseball?

UK, Ireland / Poles in UK turn to fast food [29]

I agree Wrocław. Batter or some kind of covering is not so uncommon on products here in Poland. Has chips in curry sauce or brown sauce become popular amongst Poles? Many Scots love that combo, especially when lathered

Language / Polglish - mixture of Polish and English [34]

I'd rather leave the mixing to where it naturally happens. Polish has words that are strictly Polish and those that are taken from English. There are plenty of examples

UK, Ireland / The Changing Face of Scotland - we need more immigrants! [178]

Good article. Migrants contributing towards the prosperity of the country is what we want. Poland should be encouraging potential migrants here to research their options b4 leaving for Scottish shores. Finding a job is a job in itself for some. Scotland is not the land of milk and honey.

Language / (part 2) Polish Language Pronunciation - Sample Words and Phrases [311]

Ch has more of the Dutch hh if u know what I mean. The second option, lough, I haven't seen but it looks like it has a weaker sound, without the hh. Bear in mind that there are 7 ways of pronouncing 'ough' so I could be wrong

Love / Polish-Islam Relationship Union [450]

Which makes it all the more important to create a clear separation between standard Muslims and fundamentalists/extremists. Furthermore, to highlight the reconstruction efforts in Iraq and how dialogue has taken over for the good of the international community. As for Poland, it really has virtually nothing in common with Islam. The Poles are white Catholics with little interest in the Koran.

Ask a Pole what he thinks about the Koran and he thinks u r talking about the people in the country due west of Japan, lol.

News / Do you think that Polish catholics resent the new German Pope? [108]

I feel that Polish catholics don't resent him, they just haven't given up on the memory of JPII. The initial reaction was one of disgust amongst certain people when they heard it was a German but the reaction was tempered somewhat later. JPII still lives on in the memories of Poles and always will

Food / Feeding of Livestock in Poland [13]

Would missus care for a bit of pork, a sausage perhaps? lol. Joking aside, the standard of meat here is great, especially wędliny. I try not to eat too much myself but I treat myself now and again
