UK, Ireland / Are the Poles in England hated? [450]

He indicates having read it already.

He indicates having read loads on this forum. I indicated he would find heaps if he used the seach tool. Being a member now he will have access to more postings.

( puts open hands to side of face and blows a raspberry ) ;-)

There just seems to be heaps of these kinds of threads already.

taiji - I see this is your first post.
There is a search tool in the top right of the screen.
If you employ this you will see that there are many threads already on this subject.

In fact the board is getting clogged up with them.

Life / How much do you HATE POLISH PEOPLE and POLAND [1260]

It looks like you are going to stay with your hubby and good luck to you. We all make mistakes. Its going to take some time before you trust him again and there will be tough times but.........25years and two kids counts for a lot.

The passport, money grabbing thing is just a distraction. Whats he going to say to his wife - " yeah I made a mistake, but hey, what a babe " ?

next trip to Poland, I'll be going with him

Stick around the forums and pick up some tips on how to make the most of your trip.

News / Should we change the rules to let Poles join the British Army? [119]

Thanx, link works fine.

Interesting points -

Commonwealth troops make up 10% of forces. I am not sure that the commonwealth means much more than the EU to most people.

Nine out of ten people support the troops, only four in ten support the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Life / Cool Polish names [133]

Is it really a name, or a joke?

Yep, its a name. Its more commonly used as a nickname for someone who is called Agnes but there are a few lucky people who are called Senga.

My favourite Polish female name is Zosia.

the English equivalent (Agnes) is not so much.

Or the Scottish equivalent - Senga.

Life / Polish people with learning difficulties? [42]

learning disabilities

Thats what I was wondering. Whether it was learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, or a learning disability as per DSM-IV.

Try contacting Robert Nixon at Mencap and ask him.

I have just re-read your OP.
Would standard communication tools such as Boardmaker, not work in Polish as much as it would in English ?

Makaton is used in Poland.

History / Poland Betrayed in WW2 [243]

There are many inconsistencies in his story.
The attached link is more interesting for the comments from readers, underneath the story.

News / Poles in Iraq. What's the point? [160]

May this generation of Scots be worthy of their once proud ancestors in reestablishing an INDEPENDENT STATE OF SCOTLAND.

I hope so.

The Scottish National Party was opposed to the illegal war from the beginning.
