USA, Canada / Where can I get Zywiec near San Diego [25]

U live in Żywiec lad? Interesting, not far from where I am. There's a place called Mega Pension which overlooks a stunning lake. I stayed there last year and it was so relaxing. It's a beautiful place :)

USA, Canada / Day before Schegen:Canada finds Polish passport, US deports, cut from home [44]

I'm sorry, but a PhD doesn't trump the VISA regulations. I also have a high level qualification but I play ball as I know the consequences. Haven't u heard that most Poles need to go through an interview process in order to gain entry into the US? Sorry mate, I've never heard of the PhD exemption clause.

Earl Grey and green tea, a man of class. Dilmah is also a good brand. My landlord got me into that. It's Sri-Lankan I think

News / Polish teachers on Strike. [62]

I c ur point 2. I applaud them for sticking up for their principles but the welfare and concerns of the students should be placed first. Sometimes u have to bite ur lip and grin+bear it.

Another factor may be that state teachers have more latitude than I do. They prepare their own lessons more I've heard. That being said, they still operate under harsh conditions and getting the attention of the authorities may be no bad thing. Some people in these authorities need to be jolted into life and earn their keep.

News / Polish teachers on Strike. [62]

Come on Darius, that's the best time. They are critical resources and presumably don't need their June salary THAT much. This is a time when teachers guide their students through the MATURA process and, without them, hinders the whole progress of MATURA and beyond for these students. This is human nature, at least strikers have the decency to compromise after some time. Look at the Israel-Palestine conflict, there is no budging and people are earning off of it. Hardly fair!!

The Poles have bitten the bullet once too often, I don't see why they should have to do it again.

Lack of critical thinking, Darius, u teach what u r told to teach. I guarantee u, if I had a free hand as to what I taught my students, I'd be super popular and never out of a job. I have very limited scope for creativity based on the format of the book. Try and see it their way

I'm not advocating the drinking of cheap tea. Many Brits drink cheap tea with milk and it seems to go down well. I guess it is for the tannins, the nice effect they give. I prefer the taste of good tea

Hahaha, u took the bait. I've seen how coffee is drunk in many countries so I have some awareness of the etiquette behind it. I was just winding u up.

My personal viewpoint is that the cheaper teas should be drunk with milk. I wouldn't dream of putting milk in o-cha but each to their own.

Hehehe, I have better things to do with my time than be a tea connoiseur. Sunny Jim, LOL, that was what my grandad used to call me. I believe u, other wouldn't

Just giving my opinion lad, u know where ur logout button is. How is it that the greater part of Asia, if not the whole of it, drink tea without milk? Go to a sushi bar in Japan with the conveyor belt and ask for milk with ur tea and see how far it gets u.

News / Polish teachers on Strike. [62]

There can be exploitation for sure but I was referring to those less fortunate than myself. I don't wish to discuss my salary here but let's just say that it's more than what state school teachers get. I really feel sorry for them. There has to come a point where they crack.

My Gimnazjum students told me about this. Quite right, the crappy pay and horrid conditions they have to put up with. Is this how education is valued here? Well done the strikers!!

Travel / Polish spa resorts [10]

It's interesting how differently we view the naked body. I was in a sauna in Aberdeen with 4 naked Russian women and thought nothing of it. The management did tho. With some gesturing, they explained that clothes were required. Spoilsports!!

Stiff upper lip? It should have been a fat lip for his meddling. They were stunning and I was young

Life / Experiences of Polish Hospitals [29]

I was in hospital for 3 days when I came off my bike. I must admit that they looked after me very well. Credit to them.
