Not quite - he wasn't israeli - it's all a bit complicated and he was born in the UK.

In byegone years it was seen as an opportunity for people to make an honest living - for the vast amount of immigrants that moved here - recent immigrantion (past 20 years) has seen more undesireables enter the UK both legally and illegally.

So it was an opportunity when Your G Grandfather entered UK from middle east, but now its undesirable since You're a british already :D

not to mention the crime problems that come with them. The UK is seen as easy game...or was, it would appear that we are spending a bit more time and effort to crack down on these people :)

Yep, UK is always seen as an easy game, as even Your Great Grandfather decided to immigrate over there from israel. I think English people should have started cracking down on these people since the time of the dinosaurs :D
