Life / Grafitti in Warsaw [44]

OK...post your address here and I will try and get some guys to go spray paint your home.

You ok with that?

Damaging other people's stuff is a crime and wrong. You call me irresponsible yet you defend vandals...clearly you are confused.

Yeah vandalizing people's property is not art...it is vandalism...a crime and stupid.

If some killer makes clothes out of the skin of his victims ala Silence of the Lambs is that art? Nope.

Who are you to say what is or isn't art?

The guy who's property the vandals decide will be their canvas.

Real artists would have more respect for others.

Love / Polish-Islam Relationship Union [450]

Throughout history different religions have done horrible things...Islam is in that position now. That is not anti-anything it is just reality. When Muslims get control of their own and stop the fanatics from attacking and killing people then we can talk.

I am not a christian of any flavor either but I don't see them blowing people up or chopping off heads regularly so I tolerate them. They do need to stop molesting children but that is another topic.

I eat pork, drink booze, my woman drives, she is my equal, she doesn't cover her head, and I wipe my ass with paper and not my hand. I do not do any of these things to offend you and you will not make me stop. If that makes you want to kill me then you have proven my point.

You can say the people that do the horrible things are not Muslims but they are wearing your team's colors so you better reel them in if you truly want peace.

Wanna share life and the world with me? Great...but I will not give an inch of my space and life because you are bothered by it.

News / What do Polish friends think of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton? [226]

If you think any US politician gives two cents about Poland other than how they can benefit the US you are living in a fantasy world. (the exception would be one with close family ties and that ain't any of the three mentioned here)

UK, Ireland / Polish worker's excuse and a vacuum cleaner (UK) [79]

If you live in Warsaw you cannot miss the flyers I am talking about...the brothel and strip club flyers. These are not from Brits they are from Polish businesses. They are stuck in every parked car window, parking meter and litter the ground because people toss them there after taking them off the cars.

UK, Ireland / Polish worker's excuse and a vacuum cleaner (UK) [79]

young British people give a bad reputation for UK when they go for stag parties or weekends away in Eastern Europe, its a fact.

Do you think they would even come here if the pubs, clubs and women were not so accommodating to this behavior? I guess those flyers for ****** in every car window and on the sidewalks are for decoration? Poland has a huge vice industry and 'if you build it... they will come" Look at Prague...brothels are a HUGE business there.

Takes two to tango.

Love / I got married to a Polish wife; Polish family advice needed [45]

Maybe they are lazy...but maybe there are medical issues or things nobody here understands yet everyone jumps on the 'lazy' bandwagon without giving them the benefit of the doubt and that is VERY cynical.

In my life members of my family AND myself have been in very bad situations through no fault of our own and without caring people to help us we would be homeless or dead.

It is very easy to sit and judge people needed help when you don't...when you are on the other side you will eat your words.

Why are you following me around again Harold. If the difference between one nation and 31 escapes you I can't help you.

Travel / Overstaying on a Visa in Poland [25]

"countries" are irrelevant here. EU has no border checks. If you have EU visa you can move around ...for 90 days.

Yeah you can move around within the EU...or more specifically Schengen which is many countries. That is my whole point. You used to have much more time as you had 90 days or so in each country. That has made long term travel in the EU a huge bother and is hardly comparable to the US which is ONE country.

Life / Poland and doctors [37]

Yeah that is the consultation fee...normally that includes anything they do in the office like injections, sutures etc. Lab tests, X-rays etc will be additional. Sounds like for what you need a simple consultation will be enough.

Don't forget though that you are not likely to get a huge amount of Xanax for example due to addiction potential so if you are here for a while you will have to go back to get refills as needed. I'd be surprised if you would get more than 15-20 pills at a time. Probably wont be more than 30zl or so for one round of a generic med.

I would for sure bring some with you just in case it takes a day or two to get sorted...if any place can stress you out and cause anxiety trying to get anything done it is Poland....

USA, Canada / Gas prices in America [127]

But I'm very frightened of what would happen if I were to hit an Elk while driving one......I clipped an elk in the fall and it removed my passenger side mirror clean off the door! It was horrifying! :(

Agreed...when in the US I dont drive a big truck because I need the space but rather so that if I get hit by another big truck I don't get smashed into a tiny ball. I have seen small cars obliterated by big SUVs that suffered little damage. You can guess how the driver's faired.

I would much rather pay less for the vehicle and fuel by driving a smaller car...but there are too many huge vehicles out there for me to change yet.

Jon if you are just looking for basic treatment and meds there is plenty of both and the cost is better than the west. If you are looking for counseling like cognitive behavioral therapy you are going to have a harder time.

It is one thing to be able to speak English well enough to give medical care but a whole other thing to be able to speak and understand it well enough to give therapy to a native speaker of English. I have found many people here who say they speak every well actually don't.

Every language has nuances and hidden meaning and unless someone grows up in that language they are not going to be as versed in those. Figuring out what patients are NOT saying is just as important as what literally comes out of their mouth.

It works both ways and I would never presume to be able to understand the "little things" in Polish.

If you are going to be in Warsaw there are loads of places to find someplace suitable just for meds. LIM, Damiana and Lux_Med all have English speakers on all the time...the smaller places will be cheaper and generally just as good for what you need but you may have to call ahead to make sure they have an English speaking doc.

Love / I got married to a Polish wife; Polish family advice needed [45]

Does she expect you to solve her parents problems?

No she wants help for her family that is in a bad way. Again I will say I am surprised how cynical and elfish so many of you are.

If your parents totally ignored or abused you then you have an excuse...but most of you had parent's that did a lot for you...most times more than you realize...and this is how you act. And it doesn't matter if it is your spouse's parents. When you get married you become a pair and share each other's problems AND successes.

Genealogy / Help regarding finding Polish Birth Records [18]

Because I dont like the KKK

As I said before and you clearly failed to grasp....
WHAT IF THEY ARE THE POSTERS INITIALS? IT doesn't have to mean the racist group...geez. You assumed it and attacked...he owes you no explanation because you chose to be offended.

and so its ok for you to insinuate she was the scumbag for running

I did not insinuate anything...I said that this is just as possible as the guy being the problem and you have no idea...yet you chose to make the guy the bad one. Jaded?

everyone knows that birth records are private information.

Maybe everyone knows in Poland but he clearly did not so again you are making no sense.

Travel / Overstaying on a Visa in Poland [25]

Except the USA is ONE country and the EU/Schengen is not...one allowed period for an entire group of countries is not the same....good try though.

Fingerprint me I could care less...just let me move about. In the long run it is the EU countries that lose revenue so they are hurting themselves as well.

Travel / Overstaying on a Visa in Poland [25]

The consulate will tell you it's not wise but I have been living here doing that a number of times. (I'll get my papers cleared about the time I am done here) It's a good excuse to travel and see the rest of Europe!

If you mean you have been breaking up your 90 days then yeah that will work.

If you mean crossing out of the Schengen every 90 days and getting more time that is a thing of the past. As of January 1st. It is 90 out of 180 days as has been said above.

It really is nonsense that this is the rule for the WHOLE Schengen as there are loads of countries in the zone and it makes it impossible for someone to take a long wandering trip anymore.

Travel / Going to Poland this summer -- US dollar prediction... [34]

It's sad to be turning in more dollars and not getting more zloty's but your still getting MORE! Enjoy the fact that your traveling to this amazing country and forget about the exchange.

This is not true...you may hold more ZL in your hand than USD after the exchange but the value is not more. In fact the increasing prices in Poland combined with the dollars lower worth makes shopping equal to or more expensive than the US in many respects.

There is not much I can buy here in Poland cheaper than I can in the US. Many things are even MORE expensive here (and were even before just more now)...like clothing, electronics, petrol, watches etc...most market food is the same except always cheap things like potatoes and beans...and property depends on where it is.

Poland is not cheap and was not even before the drop...

Love / BLACK GUYS POLISH WOMEN [809]

I can confirm that jestesjedyny is an anomoly and her opinions, though retarded are, thank god, not common.

Unfortunately this is not true...in Poland this is the prevailing attitude.

Travel / Going to Poland this summer -- US dollar prediction... [34]

Definately. I would say that in a few months It will be 2,5 but you never know...

You mean you think it will go back up to 2.5 from 2.3 and stay there? What is that based on?

I cried when I saw 2.31 yesterday (but today it is 2.32) I pine for the days of 3.5.

Sadly while it waxes and wanes in small numbers the trend has been down and down. People can be happy about the exchange rate for shopping but in the big picture it hurts everyone.

Travel / Going to Poland this summer -- US dollar prediction... [34]

I may completely eat my words (and I hope I don't as I have a lot of USD on the line)...but...

People scream the sky is falling all the time and the sky rarely if ever falls. The entire world is affected by the American economy and it is in the best interest of everyone to keep the US economy from collapsing. I am not talking about Euros heading over for shopping but rather the big picture.

It may not go up or recover to where it was but if it drops much more it won't just hurt Americans. Without a complete US economic collapse it would never reach 1:1.....I think after the presidential elections things will change.

Again I will admit I am viewing this with rose colored glasses because I don;t want my money to turn to dust.

Food / Is there McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut etc in Poland? Food survey. [222]

Have you tried Warsaw Tortilla Factory? It's "nouvelle Tex-Mex", but neither I nor anyone I've talked to has ever complained about it.

Yeah it's the closest I can get to edible but still not the real thing. It has to be the ingredients because the preparation of this kind of food doesn't take much skill.

Love / Are Polish men more loyal than English men? [38]

Yeah if you can handle a Momma's boy who wants you to do everything for him as was mentioned above. Go for it.

As for loyalty...it doesn't have to do with nationality it has to do with the individual. Just as many Poles cheat as anywhere else.
