UK, Ireland / Polish Spitfire shoots down BNP [63]

She gets over 1000 pounds a week

I am assuming that includes her payments for her house, because there is no way on this earth she receives £1,000 on top of having her house and CT paid for.

her Child benefit only comes to about £110.00 per week, she'd also only get about £150 max as a single mother (Im sure that, that figure is too high also). So either she is telling big lies or she is cheating and steeling from the system by claiming for several other people.

About 7 years ago, u were better of not working and claiming benefits, than working for the min wage

That depends on how you look at it, I have a friend who simply works to pay her bills (she earns more than minimum but gets no tax credits, she's on the threshold), but she would rather be working and have a bit of dignity! It's about attitude really.

t this moment in time there are about 10 pubs/restaurants going out of business a week...you think that banning immigrants would help this?

This is due the fact people no longer use pubs like they used to, nothing to do with immigrants, but if there are 10 less pubs, why do we need more people in the country, because surely that estimates to about 100 people a week losing their jobs, more labour influx doesn't make sense.

Easier said than done.

I know, but look how working tax credits have helped, it's a fact that people are financially motivated, I personally have no idea how people manage on £60.00 per week to pay bills, feed and clothe themselves...There has to be a way forward.

What the BNP are failing to realise with their biggoted views is that we neeed immigrant workers

We need people where we have shortages and we need to get the lazy bast*rds on the dole in the UK back to work, uncontrolled immigration is NOT good for the UK and it's been said by all the political Parties.

Places like cafes and hotels cannot get local people to work there and are having to go abroad.

Maybe if hotels and the service industry paid a wage where a person with a family can actually survive then we wouldn't need CHEAP foreign labour.

Ban immigration and the amount of companies in the UK that go bust would be ridiculous.

You reckon? Actually what would happen is that companies wouldn't take advantage of cheap labour and would be forced to pay a little bit more to locals.

Anyway hopefully if the UKIP get a bash, they drag us out of the EU!

Life / Polish men in shorts with sandals and socks.. [63]

no but they don't sweat as much as we do in their climate

For god sake, get some foot spray!!! Wearing socks with open footwear to be quite honest looks shocking! I'd rather have sex with a goat than date a man that wore socks with sandles!

History / Territories of eastern Germany should rightfully belong to Poland? [161]

So you think, Turks can enter EU but Kurds can't.

They are the main reason that you are being held back - wouldn't you agree?

Turkey have come a long way but in some respects are still behind the times..In that Turkish people, it would seem to those that left their home land are still living by the traditional and somewhat outdated rules that are inbedded in Turkish society and they fail to adapt to life in modern Europe where they have settled.. and this is a problem in Europe..Hence the reason there are so many negative attitutes...We all know that Turkes per se are fine, but they have a lot of baggage that comes with them.

Kurds are a massive problem in Turkey which we don't need in Europe and as long as you have this problem, you will, hopefully be rejected entry to the EU.

Life / Polish men in shorts with sandals and socks.. [63]

(in some cases in old fart club land they still have to be knee length socks).

LOL, they still have to at Chorlton golf club!

It's an easy mistake to wear socks with your trainers when you pop out to B & Q.

Socks are just fine with trainers, just not pulled half way up your leg...

News / Nobility / Aristocracy in Poland ? [92]

the French speaker would get the placement.

No they wouldn't, you are obviously not listening to what is being said, you do not need to speak French to get in to certain universities! Same as you dont need to be fluent in latin to study law or medicine!

Big beer bellies, bratwurst and a speedo a must for any occasion

And with that, I think I need to go and take a cold shower, the thought was just too much!

Somebody please tell them that they went out of style along with disco:)

Not a fcukign chance, they make us Brits look better and while there's a chance of that...we'll keep quiet!

Or maybe I'm just a man and there is some logic behind this two habits...
PS. "Because it doesn't look nice" it is not the point :-) it is not even valid argument :-)

It's a man thing, it looks stupid and it's not necessary, my ex didn't wear socks with this birkenstocks! I have certainly not worn socks with my sandles since I was about 6!

Life / Polish men in shorts with sandals and socks.. [63]

thank god the 80s look is back thats all i can say!

Foxy, surely you don't mean that?

During a recent trip to Poland I observed a tendency for young Polish women to wear knee length shorts and strange pattered tights (thin denier with patterns runnning down the side) coupled with the obligatory stiletto type shoe and most usually accompanied by some kind of tight fitting blouse unbuttoned to the max.

Did they have little white canes?

Since when did Europeans make the switch from Speedos to shorts...

Brits dont do the whole speedo thing, havent done for years, it's a favourite of the Gerries tho...but I suppose we should be thankful they're at least keeping something on ;0)

USA, Canada / Work ethics in Poland vs US [66]

Metric is far more accurate and precise.

For who? lbs, oz and inches and miles oh lets not forget gallons which have worked for centuries as a way of trading and travelling.

Can you post the picture? A good laugh is always better shared!

It's an actual photo, I'll dig it out and scan it or try and take a photo of the photo...either way, I'll share it with you...

Poles need to be introduced to ankle socks.

Funny you mention that, I did see a few lads (early 20s) who looked like their mums had dressed them, this them the first time I went to Poland and it was summer time.

isnt there any reply yet? sorry for putting this title in Polish Sports part mistakenly.

Morrella, why doesn't your girlfriend just ask her parents if they will be willing to continue to pay private health insurance after she marries or will they expect her huband to pay for it for her.

It's also being introduced in to primary schools as "compulsary" in the next year or so - a language that is, most probably French, or that's what I have been recently told (by a teacher)

Food / baby food in Poland - culture differences in feeding babies. [23]

Hours of anxiety, waiting for their mothers to return and release them from this abandonment that they feel every day

LOL...show me the evidence that children who spend time with child minders or nannys turn out to be mass murderers!

Toddler groups, accompanied by parents are a perfect example to provide social interaction, secure in the knowledge that their mothers are supporting them.

Sorry what is your point, you see, the above isn't going to get the bills paid.

"cut your cloth accordingly is what I say"

lexi we live in a country where a large proportion of children already live on or below the poverty line...if people trim away at the cloth any further they are likely to freeze to death for lack of it! You seem to live in some fantasy land!

I think any female would be flattered by that :) just be very friendly back and smile a lot and wait for him to suggest if he wants to ask you out. In the meantime relax and enjoy his friendliness :)

Best bit of advice yet! (apart from mine of course ;0) )

I reckon he's about 35, very georgeous ( in a bad boy kind of way).

Married? wife at home in Poland? Sounds like he's charming his way in to your knickers sweetie! I wouldn't bother chasing it any further.

hold on - Can i trust you lot??!!

Not me, I'll make you tell him that you've got genital herpes or something, but the Polish girls and guys that do the translations on here are worth their weight in gold.

By the way did he lick your feet yet. Its Polish culture to lick a womans feet, then turn around three times, jump up in the air and finish by slapping you on the left cheek three times. When he does that you know he is interested, try wearing sandals maybe

PMSL...

Just to clarify, which set of cheeks?

Food / baby food in Poland - culture differences in feeding babies. [23]

The most important part is to spend your time with your child and not stuff it off with a childminder, like many people do.

And also what's important is for women to go and work and show their children a little bit of work eithic! In a perfect world lexi (maybe you live in this lovely place) women would love to stay at home with their children, but there is a little thing call real life where we have to pay bills and feed and cloth children!

The child will remember being stuffed off with a childminder

Really? hours of playing with other kids developing intersocial skills?
