History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

how is JP responsible.

hes not..

its up to the govt to provide these people with education and means. but because
they are a poor country, its the last thing they worry about because there is
probably faster killers then aides ..

just like it is the govt of britian to provide the schools with education, and part of
that education is sex education. one which we hope our children will learn that
if they have sex, they should be using protection so they wont get aides...

a Pope is not responsible for making sure the whole world has safe sex.. my god
give the man his rest.. it is up to you PERSONALLY to either take or leave the information given to you..

Life / Local Poles taking advantage of foreigners living in Poland [235]

and I cannot figure out why generalizations are bad if they are true

because in your quote you are saying that the whole population of drivers that are
german are very safe drivers and good /fast drivers,, while this can be true for a good
majority there is still that small percentage that you pointed out yourself that has
accidents.. so your generalization was not true to extent, because it left an opening
for discussion on that small percentage.. thats all...

I have a hard time understanding how you could have any idea what it is like going into another culture or how one should view it since you have never been anywhere?

again,, slower this time.. I pointed out the generalization. thats all.. oh, did I tell
you that I know rudeness exists all over??

as an english man i am extremely polite and find most other nationalities wanting in both common courtesy and basic manners

well that will all change when you move to America.. cause your going to be part
of the rude arse super-power who runs the world.... get your keys out
start your engines.. ranj and bubba have entered the room!!!!

varoooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmm.... lol

Yeah there are rude people all over but some places have MORE than others and people are offended by that fact and make excuses.

lol having the last word ehh?? no excuses,, just pointing out that you generalized
and you finally came around..

I never said either country doesnt have rude people. I said it exists all over and
you finally said it too.. so in conclusion to this madness.. I will then agree with
greg.. because his point ( my interpretation of it) was that he is only saying to
not be so un- wise when visiting.. and the truth is, he is right, because people
take advantage.. if you act helpless someone is going notice.. havent you learned
this living abroad? I would think the answer is yes..

I think you just got offended by gregs presentation of it.. and of course I agree
with you if thats true on that perspective.. but he tells it like it is.. and maybe
in opinions we think this is wrong, and sometimes we just dont realized how strong
others views are and what they hold..

so anyway..with that..I go to work now.

are we talking about living there?? or rude people?? thats what the point was in my
discussion..

as for work,, thats different, I live in America and experience rude people on a daily
basis.. is that your point? work? cause every work place has rude workers and or
rude public to deal with .. am my wrong?

I am sure the conditions in China are pretty bad.. but thats not the discussion I was
having or the point..

Not angry at all...but that would be good for you because you could point to that as me being a hypocrite...and it is clear that was you intention with the above comment.

which one, I commented alot in the above post.. sorry, I dont read minds only
posts and quotes.. lol

if your talking about the post to bubba, it was a joke , a long time ago joke
and a recent joke about burritos.. no harm intended and he knows it just the same

I was kinda crackin up.. I thought it was funny , you have to be able to laugh some
in order to get by in this world.. dont you agree?

The Chinese ARE very rude in public

ok well if this is so true, I am sure no one in the whole wide world would want to
visit CHINA>>>
just like people generalizing about british, polish, finnish, scottish etc.. its all general
stupid comments.. your obeservations is only ONE sir.. not thousands.. so by that
I say, it holds no merit or proof.. other then a judgement made by you alone.

You have USA in your profile...can I ask how long if ever you lived in Poland?

nope, I havent, but people generalize and say that the united states has rude people,
and niave people and we all are gung ho about joing bushes war etc etc etc...
is funny how one person view can be so judgemental.

People are individuals, its a choice they make to either be rude or nice. none of us
can control their lives, whatever the case may be, your going to experience rude
people all over the world.. and in some cases, you might just come off as being rude
yourself some day,, maybe it will be in a classy resort and your demanding a drink
or in a long grocery line waiting to go home cause your feet are killing you and your
in pain, or perhaps you will be in a hospital, feeling at your worse and yelling at those around you helping to make you well, but you just dont appreciate it..

have you ever heard of the domino effect?

well I think its the cause and effect which keeps this going, and it wont stop
until you put on your happy face and find your happy place :) especially when
you visit.. I know when I am taking care of pts in the hospital. I care for them all
even those who are yelling at me because I still have my compassion. find yours.

UK, Ireland / Many British have inferiority complex [131]

yeah, we actually want our jobs back in America so we can bring our economy back
up.. the problem we have now is outsourcing.. not immigration!! thats the last
problem we have, and if we did have immigration, I am sure we wouldnt mind
as long as our money stays home.. ;)

You are a hypocrite as you did not condemn Greg's generalization and insult of foreigners

hes right, you cant go into another country with your eyes closed and expect the
same results when you scream help!!

If Pati19 IS 19yo then she is in the exact age I am talking about so I take it with a grain of salt.

to funny.. judgin again. I wish I was because I would kick your arse... ha ha..

I am not bashing...just stating a repeated behavior I observe....sometimes stereotypes are true no matter how much we are insulted by them.

then he says..

The only culture I have been around that is more rude are Chinese...everything Poles do that is nasty the Chinese do much worse.

Jones,, I think you have pointed your finger in the wrong direction with that
hypokrite statement.. but, then again, I only point out the behavior I observe..

And I'm pretty sure they wouldnt all be saying what a marvelous thing open borders are.

your right for one reason on that, its called drugs.. we control it because otherwise
alot of drugs would come into the states ( not that it still dont) but its much less
without open boarders and patrols.. do you know how many tunnels lead to America
underground and are solely used for transporting drugs?

there was 55 underground tunnels that were inspected and filled afterwards, but they
lead to various places in mexico just over the boarder and considered drug traffiking
facilities..

and they let people use
them to sneak into the united states without getting a actual passport to come here
and live ( which could be a criminal like the one guy who killed three teens exacution
style last year at their high school.. yes we have reasons why the boarders are closed or regulated.. get a passport just like the rest of your mexican friends and no problems

coming here the legal way,, this way we know if your going to be a productive citizen
or cold blooded killer...

you think this is not agreeable?

I believe everyone deserves a chance to live where they want if they are upstanding
hard working humans.. otherwise fry like the idiot that you are.. do something stupid
and you pay the consequences.. this is facts of life..

It is typical of a Polish male to make excuses and blame others

Pretty general response again.. another expert in the field of bashing.

And Greg's comments about pussies shows the mentality of a lower class of person

tell me Mr Jones , you have never ever became angry and said things out of anger
and wanted to kick someones arse? if you say no, your lying, because every
person on this planet experiences enough degree of anger to say things like what
greg said...

I could also go on to say, this is typical of ignorant folk to not understand where
hes coming from because we all been there and done that.. so to speak.

I am sure Greg can hold his own, but In his defense, I really think your prematurely
judging someone .

you still look!! BTW what is your age ?? over 40?? it must be, because you
remember so much from communist times. yeah I would guess at probably
in your 60s with a bald head .

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

your just saying that .. you dont even know who russia's future leaders will be, so
how can you even say stalin was the best .. you can compare to past and present
but not future.. and if you want to condone a killer, go ahead,, we know where
your morals are. sad that people would agree with that.

he was just as bad as hitler. what gives another human the right to dictate whos
lives should be put to death and whos should be spared.
put your shoes on someone else feet for a moment and think,, that could have
been your family wiped out. ahhh but We wouldnt expect such smart people like you
to understand.

to those who think stalin was a great leader of russia. what great leader needs to kill his own people. a leader is respected not feared. **** stalin and hitler and **** those who defend him

Agree,, why protect and defend idiots.. yeah they made a name for themselfs
I wouldnt want to go down in history books as a cold blooded killer..

Genealogy / Has anyone taken Genealogy DNA tests? [87]

As I am having difficulty in finding ancestors beyond my great-grandfather,

caroln

sometimes the name was changed,, this was the case for my grandmother, and
so I called a cousin, she told me about the name change ( americanized) or just
spelling error too on her part .. writing and spelling in english were very hard for
my grandmother.

Genealogy / Has anyone taken Genealogy DNA tests? [87]

It seems R1a is found to varying degrees from Iceland and Ireland, all the way across Asia. How can this genetic information tell you you're Polish?

it showed this across europe and of course this would be true, people do not stay
in same area.. now or even then.. but I agree, this is theory still. so how can it
be proven.. but apparently DNA can be extracted from people that were mummys
thousands of years ago and we can learn from it, and possibly some of the evidence
they put before us in theory is more then likely scientific tests which have been
concluded as evidence of these DNA markers.

I just find it amazing that whomever was the first survivor of my DNA - who is probably
my 80th great grandfather, how did he do it? what did he witness? and what
struggles he endured..I would love to know, but this is impossible.

Pat, see this...

wow!! yes why should people be made to take tests of theorys unproven??

I think it should be only factual.. of course we lose alot that way to, because some
things can never be replaced once lost to wars and such. so some things that
were not theory but facts, will never again be relived in the eyes of those learning.

this is Amazing.. I am pretty excited, I want to read it tonight, but its to late.. :)
thanks :))))

Crow this is so true its the knife that cut the cake.

Every version of history is distorted. told the way the person seen it, and each time
it was told it became more exzaggerated, twisted differently from the account told.

and the other nations who told their side ( as much truth as it was) became distorted
also .. I agree with this wholeheartedly...

this discussion has surfaced before , but until now, its true form hasnt really been
debated. and I thank you for Pointing out what I already believed..

and Im not saying I dont believe in history, I just dont believe all the history told
is the true concrete vision that was originally recorded..thats why I dont know/
understand why so many fight over whos the winner in all these battles when
truthfully, no one wins when theirs war..

lately, Ive realised this more and more in other things.

Before I die, though, I want to get that DNA test done somehow!

me too.. plan to actually here before spring.. and also want to have another
Possible cousin take it, just to see if we are cousins..

I heard some good feedback on it..

I guess it's a question of defining what or who is Polish. The geographical boundries of what was Poland over the centuries has varied widely.

Wasnt Poland formed kinda like the United States was with people from other
slavic countries?

UK, Ireland / What's So Great About The UK? [416]

I don't blame people for wanting to make their lives better and if they see their best chance of doing that is to come to live here in the UK, then "Good Luck!", but should it be at the expense of the British people themselves ?

I hope no one misunderstands where I am coming from and I'm not a bad or prejudiced person. I just feel I'm slowly being eased out of the picture........but I have nowhere to

Mr H.. I say bravo for coming forth and being truely honest and compasionate at
the same time..

Ive never faced this type of situation, I cant say anything encouraging, but I do
agree with yours as well as theirs ( situations) as a whole.

everyone is entitled to move and make better, but as you say, so many have
come, now so many who have established lives want out, but dont really want
to leave... and before immigration wasnt noticed so much because it was so little
and so of course it would be more accepted..

but what is the right thing/ best thing the Eu can do to change this?
and are they currently working on it?
