News / Poland's Future Includes Fewer Poles, More Foreigners [324]

I don't see it as something to be ashamed of, quite the oposite.

But then... you are so vicious against immigrants dear fellow member .. hmm..

anyways... on another context. England is much a multiethnic country... how are your relation with the asians you probably frequently keep meeting? You have them as friends?... or do you throw a stone :D (I hope not).

But you must be interracting with them! There are just so many! Isnt it?

News / Poland's Future Includes Fewer Poles, More Foreigners [324]

Its the worlds top publication.

Thanks for clearning Poland out. But you could put us in that field, I wouldnt have attacked :).

Anyways...Iraq, Pakistan (home to two of the oldest civilizations of the world... Babylon and the Indus valley people) are not contributing in science and intellect to their host nations? Ofcourse, the religious disturbances pop out. But then, apart from that, people from these backgrounds are very well off. However, putting a list will only populate this threat... and showing just one (for a few) does not justify my point (because its only a few I show). You can investigate yourself.

Regarding Bangladesh, Romania and Poland: People from Bangladesh (and I met) are intelligent. Just while at your question, I landed here... have a look:

usenet.com/newsgroups/soc.culture.bangladesh/msg01787.html

Also en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jawed_Karim... its about the co-founder of youtube ... read that.

And there are much many, about students fromt his country. And with my experience, i think that these ppl are intelligent.

Romanians and Polish people have also been able to achieve much feats in the world. If you would see these nations and people with abit of positive light, you will be able to find these yourself.

No. Not only the french team, but many other nations teams and olympic teams... etc.

I suggest the same to you.

Its not that I am after making them look bright. But, when you guyz busy taking notes of the dark patches... I prefer looking at the bighter part of the story :).

I believe human's are gifted. All humans. And the true magic lies in appreciation of such gifts... and enjoying their benefits with a welcoming attitude.

The problems ofcourse... they come with it. But we should tackle and manage to overcome the problems and establish good understanding and lasting development, which would benefit both of us.. and make us closer...eventually one nation...towards a common goal.

So it was an opportunity when Your G Grandfather entered UK from middle east, but now its undesirable since You're a british already :D

Ya Spade :D .. she is the children of immigrants...WOULDNT YA KNOW :P! :D.

:) ... Jew didnt come from sky... they are Arabs (Middle eastern... and the term 'Arab' comes from the language 'Arabic' which is a modern version of 'Aramic'.. a language Jesus used to speak, and was popular in Palestine... which many Jews used to speak too)... who had to flee due to opression. And find a home in different parts of Europe and other places. They were often unwelcome and reportedly were very much undesired. We can get glimpses from early novels...even Shakespear.

++++(plus)... they are very much Aasians :) :)...:P

No hard feelings... but ... couldnt resist writing that.

Life / Baptisum of a Polish child - what is my role? [16]

See... I respect traditions. But this tradition is motivated by a false ritual.

Its ... not even a much preferred tradition. I have seen its practice decline... and I am happy about that. Because...its really slowly proving to be a bit meaningless. But of course, for those who want it... they can go ahead...

You can do many things... if you want... its your life.

How can a kids Christianity be logically secured by the so called 'good aunty' :D .. hilarious.

News / Undertakers in Lodz :( [24]

Our doctors are not very good. I agree... but I think this information is exagerrated about the under-takers.

Its not so prevalent. It happens, but not the way it is mentioned in here. You need to be a Polish to understand the entire thing... from articles in magazine, only a concentrated picture is shown... and that is not what Lodz is all about.

Love / Fidelity of Polish women [63]

Women and men cheat all over the world and it doesnt matter where they come from.

not all cheat...

is it normal for polish women to flirt?

No... but its not abnormal for some.

The girl who does alot of club... tries to be too smart... curious... do you think she will not be a flirt?... now, does that only apply to Poland?

News / Should we change the rules to let Poles join the British Army? [119]

so having Polish people in the British army or visa versa is no big deal.

I have no problem.

But.. its Europe... and its a strange world. Some such people exist who love to creat problems...and also descriminate. Often they are devoid of logic, but still hailed!

Now... if unfortunately a situation occurs... and the Polish personel in the UK army has to choose between Poland and Uk... what will he do?... and how will that justify UK? or Poland?...

Or maybe... we all might join the EU army... or better....the UN army. It might look better.

But if you are talking about British Poles... like British Indians or British Germans... or etc... then it makes more sense.

Well...praising the immigrants in other countries and how great it is and a post later praying the same fate won't befell your own home country is surely one of the most hypocritical things I read here on PF!

Its not hypocritical.

I didnt say that 'I hope they dont come to us!'... I said 'I expect that the unrest will not happen in Poland'. Personally, I find the Polish people very accepting and friendly. Alot more than many other places!

I think, good immigrants (I support student immigrants more than workers, and if workers then skilled workers) will only be of benefit to us. In every say we can think. If we ourselves learn to accept and adjust with our new neighbours, it will not make us lower or helpless. It will only make us happier and more diverse. More broad and increase knowledge. And this sentiment is carried by most people I have known from my college of university (I mean the ordinary polish boys and girls ...).

3rd world

By saying this... how can someone feel bigger? Being a first world, while fellow human being is on third world...and feeling big about it...its not my kind of thing.

I think, the world belongs to all of us. And no one had the chance to decide where to born, which race to be, what gender to be...before being conceived. I think no one is to blame on this. You could easily be a Pakestani ... but by luck you are now where you are. Dont take it otherwise... but if you think about it deeply, your heart might agree on it.

Israel

Its completely Asian. 100%.

However, Israelis are not 100% Asian. When they migrated west and northward...they were. But then, for so many hundreds and thousands of years... they got mixed to some extent. So probably they are now 50-50 :). But there are Israeli Jews from Arab, even Indian and Iranian background... who are as Asian as an Asian can get!

westernization

I dont think Poland is moving towards 'westernization'. We dont have to borrow from west... we can have our own way of life. Not to say you have wrong, but I think its just not suitable for us.

There are really many good things many Poles like about the East. And there are good things from the west. And their are wonderful aspects of our own community. Together we would prefer to move ahead with an evolutionised Polish community...rather being 'westernized'. Western values dont attract always...sorry.

(asian ghettos)

East London?

See.. westernized would be a crude word. I think its a more Euro outlook. Modest dresses are not bad.

Then... why narrow ourselves to dresses. People wear according to their taste :). I guess it can be ok. But for the point... I still think Europeans with asian ethnicity do wear more Euro dresses. (but if they like to wear their own...i wouldnt mind).

Choice of fashion by Asians 2008 In Great Britain

not bad :P

But when I was in UK, I saw asian ppl wearing western dresses...

the number of Indians that are flocking to work and study

not many really... here in lodz, in my university...were just a handful... could count on fingers. All of them except a few from other departments stayed (made family) in Poland... and are well off.

Usually... some move to France... and guess where they go most :) ... U...KKKK :P... to your home :), to be family!

???

:)

Isnt it? :)

Well now you're in some muddied waters with this one.

I have stated these information through valid information taken from 'Readers Digest' magazine (best magazine in the world) and also I have seen documentaries about how students from 3rd world countries (specially india and china) do better in education in USA and the other western nations ... as they have more sacrifices and many other phsychological factors.

how does that prove they benefit the economy of their host country

In many ways. Labour, commerce, science... Just see the French football team... or the top British businessmen/women ... its like, they bring diverse intelligence.. gives a country alot of power and variety of thinking dimentions. If you think about it deeply yourself, it will not be difficult to see the point.

to keep their culture and customs alive

That I dont think can actually work.

I know... they probably try hard and maintain the dresses (for a couple of generations) and the food (which we can adopt ourselves if its tasty)... and then?... nope... cant work. I say, once a person puts her/his first step out of the plane in a foreign land and try to call it theirs....changes start to happen from that very instant. They cannot remain the same.

News / Poland's Future Includes Fewer Poles, More Foreigners [324]

believe me!

Can't.

The world was supposed to be where it is now, and the future towards us are also what should be. This is the way the world goes forward... crying over it, instead of helping towards it... is the work of ignorance.

how many race related riots have you had in Poland

None, and I hope none happens.

See, these things have happened in places where there exists a lack of understanding between immigrants and locals. I dont blame either party, as this was probably a learning curve. Hopefully the Poles will have more experience and use it to avoid such disturbances.

Immigration is not abnormal. Resistance to immigration is nothing new. This happened among Europeans aswell... we had small clashes among us, and clashes so big that it ripped us apart (not going into the details). However, we have learned and moved forward to acceptance and regard (or atleast we try to make an honest effort towards it). These diverse people, often ignored, often less accepted and lowly spoken of... not given adequate respect and care...turn against its leaders and neighbours out of frustration. Afterall, their Government (parent) is the country which they have now come to... and their neighbours are their family.

Like a frustrated child... these people leap on to make noise and do all the bad stuff. Not all the immigrants do it... but those who are from low income, and low status criteria. Like a child in a family, which feels like getting less love and less attention...these people often try and gain attention! Such situation is in Brazil with its own local native population also (I saw it in a channel).

We should be more sensitive, and understand that the solution is not through force, but better understanding and more efficient utilization of available resources.

As for Poland... I think our own past, our own mentality and our sensitivities about our own status gives us a unique opportunity to accept and integrate better...

However... we are not the primary immigrant destination :P ... we are just... a homogeneous country of poles (and a few ukrainias...russians...etc :) ). Ofcourse...there are people of other countries too... but less. Too less :D.

70% of immigrants send a large proportion of their earnings out of the country

But its good too I guess. They are thankful to those who are their kins :). And then, even businesses send money outside, but taxation is ofcourse of England. So thats something no one can take away. And these people often are more hardworking, due to so much sacrifice they make to come to Europe, they want to make it big. This, often is very visible.

Why?

Well its like this... I like a garden will with flowers of different colors... in different patches and proportions... creating new... or displaying its own grandeur!

It gives... more than what we already have. Makes the world look todays...

That what I feel.
