Whose post? Michal's? I made codziennie a separate point.

It could even be the first word in the sentence if you want to emphasise the fact that you do it every day.

Idę do sklepu is by far the most common. Codziennie is written together.

Food / Food On A Budget [11]

A gigantic zapiekanka can cost you only 6PLN. Huge bread rolls here are 50 or 60gr. Throw some cheese on and you have a cheap meal.

Yeah, you can pick up a decent budget pizza too.

Food / Krakowski Kredens [13]

We have Kredens here in Gliwice, it replaced Tres Amigos. One of, if not the, only place in Gliwice to serve Paulaner from the tap.

Poland has £owicz for jam and numerous good pickle producers. It's worth it as a one-off.

1906 according to the small accompanying booklet, inkrakow.

That's quite a lie if so!!

Food / Krakowski Kredens [13]

My fiancee has just introduced me to the products of this company. Specifically, strawberry jam and pickles (ogórki konserwowy). 20PLN for sth that that would otherwise cost 10PLN together.

They have a long tradition, does anybody else here know them?

News / POLISH PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES in the 2010 election? [10]

I will be running tomorrow night, I need to get fit again.

The above allows me to coin a new phrase, 'the lesser of 3 evils'. Nah, that's not right, Sikorski seems to be a decent fellow. Not to happy about the missile shield tho.

Life / HAND-KISSING WANING IN POPULARITY? [29]

My lassie likes it. I did it in Tesco yesterday and I feel that it causes no offence to normal people. After all, love is more desirable than contempt.

Genealogy / Anyone know a shorter version of the name "Napierkowski?" [5]

No shorter version, no. As Osioł said, it is of Scottish origin. There is a university in Edinburgh called Napier. Then the Polish tag is added.

Maybe Napierski, it looks right when written but I don't think it is.

You can't delete posts as you should think before you write, LOL ;)

I am not from Gliwice, I'm from Aberdeen in Scotland. I just live here so I can't say I'm proud. Żech jes ze Gliwic would be the more common ending

OK, having reviewed my various threads, I've noticed that too many are general and not connected with 'things Polish'.

Here's my attempt to reverse that trend, my latest study. I propose that we do some translation and some discussion.

Let's start from A and work forward.

Asić sie = ???

What does this mean, non-Silesians please. No checking!!
