USA, Canada / Polonia in USA - Happy 4th of July! [42]

What should have happened of course is that both sides should have sat down over a cup of tea and avoided the fighting bit.

You are right about that. And imagine what all that caffeine did to the fish! :)

agreed to blame the French.

That's ok, they are still pissed off about the Louisana Purchase! Amercians love a bargain!

Like the US did with their Atom-Bomb...new technology to reach the goals.

Even the creators of the atomic bomb were horrified at the creation they had wrought...they were so caught up in the excitement of the discovery that they hadn't really thought about the application.

I'm sure I sound like a doofus, but my ex had a problem with alcohol for awhile, so for a long time I did not drink, ever......

It's nice now to be able to have some of the things I missed during that time... :)

There have been attempted bombings in the UK - 2 in the last week and why because of our involvement in this farce....

I thought the terrorists were Asian? (?)
What is the latest update?

(Do you know that I heard about that here on this forum, before it hit the media here?)

I think Mrs. Merkel did quite all right...but since today Portugal has the presidency of the EU for the next 6 months...

Does it rotate? On what basis?

But now it's another time anyway....

And Germany is president of the EU....what better opportunity for the country to show the world that it is positive and progressive....concerned for the welfare of all....

Let's wait and see how she does with all this.....

Southern is a citizen of the world...probably born in one country, educated in another, and has likely lived/traveled all over. So it doesn't really matter that much where he is from.....in my belief. :)

Shopgirl, yes, there are political motivations

You still haven't told me what happened? Who had sex with whom, and who found out? :) You are leaving out the juicy parts! :)

Absolutely. It is a shame that he had to lie about it though. If he just came out and admitted it, then I for one would have had more respect for him. He has won this back for all the good work that he has done and positive results gained since those days.

But I understand why he felt he had to....don't you think a confession would have be tantamount to "game over" to his term? What would have been left of his administration after the Republicans and the media finished up?

It may have been a more calculated decison to lie....let it drag out while finishing up business that needed handling... That's what you have to do sometimes....

Tell it to the Poles after the recent sex scandals.

Do you have some "good dish" (gossip) for us? :)
I don't know of any sex scandals....what was so raunchy as to upset everyone?
Maybe I have false impression that "Catholicism" is majority, yet not feverently practised.

Here...a margarita for you...:)

Thanks, sweetie :*
I needed that! :)

If there must be a separation of Church and State, I would also recommend a separation of Sex and State! :D

But the right wing would call me a "godless liberal" :)
