Language / "Pomagac", "robic" - I know this is wrong can anyone help me? [29]

if a word ends with certain letters then a certain pattern is followed?

Yes, some of the verbs follow standard patterns. The book "301 Polish Verbs" by Klara Janecki should be fairly widely available. I can't remember if I got mine online or from a bookstore. It has the verbs in all the tenses, in perfective and imperfective forms.

It so hard learning as an adult

It certainly is. My memory is nowhere near as good as when I was a nipper.

Just found this useful link....

goethe-verlag.com/book2/EN/ENPL/ENPL-all.zip - Goethe-verlag Book2 mp3s
Quite a few phrases read out in English then in Polish. 90MB, but worth it...

Can you do that? Try it and see how far you get before reaching for a dictionary

There were a lot dictionary look-ups going on, even on the early ones! I bought myself a Polish novel at the airport about six months ago. Reading that is my equivalent of climbing Everest...

Language / Polish language MP3s [24]

I have done, the first few were fairly easy. I probably didn't start at the beginning because those ones didn't have the corresponding mp3s...

These stories get increasingly difficult

I didn't realise that... I started from the end and I'm struggling a bit.

I wonder what happened to them?

Yes, it's a shame they're missing. Also the PDF is a scan of a printed document. It would have been nice if you could cut and paste from it...

Love / What is an acceptable dating age range in Poland? [51]

This age difference thing always reminds me of the scene from Friends....

Joey: Oh, well think of it like this, when you're 90...
Ross: I know, when I'm 90 she'll be like 80 and it won't seem like such a big difference.
Joey: No, that's not what I was going to say at all. No, what I was going to say is when you're 90 you'll still have the memory of what it was like to be with a 20-year-old.

Food / Kiełbasa - What can I do with it to make it taste nice? [14]

I was recently given some kiełbasa. I'm not a big sausage lover anyway and eaten au naturel it just seems to be just fatty and smokey nothingness.

Any ideas? Or should I just chuck it away?
