Work / So where are all you unemployed hard done by workers then????? [35]

instead of picking on the polish workers, try to convince your goverment to get rid of all so-called asylum seekers who drain money from your country.they don't do nothing but ask for money and lower your living standards.they come here, don't pay any taxes, nothing.every single motherfucker gets a free house and some spending money ect.doesn't it rise the price of houses?free health care.a lot of them carry some diseases so they have to be treated as soon as possible.then you get all this problems with muslim terrorists ect.this is what your real problem is not the polish builders

Travel / 1st time in Poland [78]

Good question, does any country have a national dish!

I suppose roast lamb/chicken and potatoes but thats what the British have.

Its probally the barbecue... lots of red meat and prawns (beer to wash it down)

Because oz land is a very multi cultural society, people enjoy variations of chinese, greek, italian etc food. the days of having steak and chips at a restuarant are well and truly gone.

so it looks that you havent got anything like "bigos".mmmm...

I don't like saying this but poles have not been exposed to variety of other foods....sorry

your thinking is a bit narrow,i can say.Poland as a country has not been created after 1945.we have been under influence of many nations and their cuisines.russia-pierogi with potatoes and cottage cheese, ukrainian betroot soup, jewish a carp stuffed with mashrooms, pasta with tomatoe sauce is well known too and many many more .you should buy a book "POLISH CUISINE" before you say something.

Work / So where are all you unemployed hard done by workers then????? [35]

yep that's true. i work for the company which employs about 100 poles and very few can communicate in english.that's why putting an adv in a newspaper doesn't make any sense, they don't read any unless it is something in polish

And I really don't like your attitude. I don't know you, but taking under consideration the tone of your first post you seem to be a bit childish, and unprofessional. Nevertheless, I wish you luck with your search.

well .he is the victim of the british media which picture the situation in poland as hopeless.that's why he was so dissapointed.anyway i think that he will find who he's looking for if he follows my advice. i know a few builders who don't work in their jobs because of poor english.they can't neither read nor write in english.you know what our builders are like, especially the older ones(in their 40ties 50ties) how many of them can speak english? if he is brave enough to encourage this guys who speak no english but they are good at what they r doing he will find a lot of good workers

i would do it the way i told you.
if you write a simple note with your companys name, phone number, rate of pay, condition ect it will work out much better than an advert in a newspaper, you can also add that if they don't speak very good english they can get someone to call on their behalf or help during their interview unless you are only prepared to take on people who are fluent in english.

this is the way the poles are looking for jobs, belive me i started like that:).
a lot of the polish guys look at the windows of newsagents post offices while looking for flats/rooms ect.try this and then come back and tell us about it.feel free to send your adv we can translate it for you.good l;uck:)

they work too hard to answer your post:).not many polish builders are fans of the internet let alone this forum.a lot of this guys can understand english but can't write.write an advert which you can put on display in where you live(post office window, local newsagent ect) send it here we will translate it into Polish .i am sure you will find a lot of builders.

News / Poland- Visa Waiver Program [55]

I'd travel all over if I was there. It must be nice to be able to fly to Paris for lunch, or spend an extended weekend in Greece. I'm jealous.

yes that's a big advantage i agree but as my passion is birwatching(birds with feathers!:)) it would be interesting to go one day to the new world and see a few of your total 1500 species of birds in america(compared to europes 650 species it is quite a lot)

UK, Ireland / Stop the exploitation of Polish workers in the UK [101]

I think it is difference in our cultures- I don't think that polish go out as much as british.
We do but less often I suppose.

yes i agree.i prefer to stay at home with a pack of friends.don't get me wrong i do go out but not too often.i don't like noisy pubs i prefer restaurants(good food ect). i also like cooking at home.one more very important factor is most of poles were taught to save money for bad times(insecure jobs, bad situation in poland especially during communist time ect).a lot of old people buy/built their graves when still healthy and alive.what for? to make sure that if something unexpected happens their families have no money, they will have their place to rest.this is what the communist times did to us(especially to old people).but i can see that the younger generation is changing very quickly and they are a bit less stressed than us

News / Poland- Visa Waiver Program [55]

i appreciate it.i bet u would feel the same.why americans don't go to cuba but u can see so many canadians there?it is such a beautiful country.annoying isn't it?everything because visas(the reasons are different of course).i would love to go to the usa(not live there though) cos i know it is a beautiful country but i am to proud to apply for the visa on current conditions.hope when it's changed we could meet in the pub drink a few bottles of budweiser:)

News / Poland- Visa Waiver Program [55]

i don't have anything against you too but i don't care if you care or you don't.i just express my opinion on that subject.american embassies make a great bussiness in poland and are supported by their government.treating people like a cattle doesn't match to the words said by your officals about"special relationship between 2 nations". i feel sorry for this people in waiting in a few kilometres queue, but it is their choice.i am not in it

News / Poland- Visa Waiver Program [55]

Which is BS. Don't believe everything you hear.

it is not.that was said on polish tv.the polish government was trying to organise cheks in poland but americans turned it down.having a visa doesn't guarrantee that you will enter the usa

I just got hers for $500 through a friend of a friend who's an immigration officer(

you have just admitted that this system is wrong and corrupt

the reason Polish people are racists is because they eat a lot of beans

UK, Ireland / English people attitude towards Poles? [761]

Hmmmm the armpit of cheshire...I really wouldnt take on board too much of what they say, it's a horrible town and would advise anyone from Poland moving to England avoid it like the plauge.

as i said just one opinion was bad but the rest of them were very positive.i don't expect everyone to love the poles:)

News / Poland- Visa Waiver Program [55]

Actually the biggest problem is the refusal percentage being 30% in Poland. We require a 3% in order to be eligible. I just hope that Poland is working on this.

i would never begg for an american visa.this what you are(your government) doing with this poor silly people is disguisting.500 people are "served" in your embassy in just one day.first they have to phone your embassy and pay a huge amount of money for a call as it is some kind of 0700 number.then they have to pay a lot of money just for seeing an immigration officer for about 2 minutes(i don't know what the exact amount is).u wont get your money back if u don't get a visa.some of the decisions are ridiculous and you can't appeal.once u got the visa you can be returned from the airport in THE US just because some stupid immigration officer thinks it's right to do so.maybe cos he doesn't like your face or maybe cos his doughnuts were not to tasty 2day.that's why i never applied for the american visa and never will.there are a lot of different beautifull countries to go to

UK, Ireland / Stop the exploitation of Polish workers in the UK [101]

Hello...

I have just started a new job, were many Polish people work, I am utterly amazed by the Polish workers ... I feel like telling them this but feel to shy.... I have SUCH admiration for you all, you are such hard working people, and even tho you are sooo over worked you still have time to be friendly and kind to other workers!!!! You are an asset to this country (UK) and I look forward to working with more Polish people in the future!!! Also I want to investigate at my work how well they are being paid in comprasion to us, since most of the time you are working probally harder than the uk people!! Keeep it up and god

thanks for your very nice words somali girl.
we are told quite often that we work harder than the english guys.well it depends.the english guys have a different attitude towords their work than we have but i understand them.here an unemployment rate have been very low for ages so they don't have to RESPECT every jobs even poorly paid like we have learnt to do.we came from the country where an unemployment rate used to be over 20% and work used to be something like a treasure.in this case they are right cos jobs should be for US not we for JOBS.most of the polish guys have not families here so to kill the boredom they agree to work overtime(as me and my girlfriend do) on saturdays or sundays.most of the english guys go and see their friends/families.some of my polish friends who want to stay here forever work exactly as the english guys do.another reason is that a lot of polish people do not speak english and they are scared that they would be sacked if they worked worse than the english guys.the reasons vary but i would not blame the english guys that they refuse to work harder than it is required

regards
