News / What does Poland mean to you? [66]

How are they not helped? They are often placed ahead of domestic Brits in the housing ladder, they get free English lessons paid for by British taxpayers and also have clearly signposted jobs for them to apply for.

We have also helped to facilitate the establishment of Polish agencies in certain cities. Integration crucially stems from acceptance and give/take. By staying in cliques, that doesn't help the process. Many Poles who have taken the step of integrating have seen positive results.

The more I watch, the more I see that many Poles are there for money. It's in every account. I have heard culture mentioned once and it was in passing. I am not being troll-like here, just realistic.

There are those professions that are better rewarded abroad such as the dentistry profession. It's logical to want to have the best conditions you can have.

Many British folk are resistant to change. The realities of the EU allow for such mass migration but they don't have to like it.

Britain has more than its fair share of thieves, bias and xenophobia, trust me.

You haven't watched enough videos then, or read enough accounts. Many Brits are fed up with being swamped. That's just what they say.

UK, Ireland / Immigrants in Peterborough [9]

The Poles are Coming Documentary gives a visual dimension to this information.

That Patel character is more Indian than British. Sorry, I see her as an immigrant.

Good reasons, Zosia. If Poland could only raise the standard of living for the przyciętny Polak, it would attract a lot of people back. Unfortunately, many Poles aren't prepared to settle for less money in order to receive many of the benefits you have outlined above. Pity that!

Some problems are quite deep rooted though. There is quite a mentality difference between many Brits and Poles.

Work / How much Poles earn compared to foreigners! [29]

Exactly, 310 quid a week is shocking. That's 1240 a month, hell no. 500 is more than enough to pay, especially for a 1-bedroom place.

In conversion terms, I pay 150 pounds a month for my nice flat in Poland. More like 230 in real terms but still cheap.

UK, Ireland / The Poles are Coming documentary [38]

For those of us that didn't get to see it, it's here in 7 parts.

Here's the first part,

It's around an hour long. Plenty to discuss.

History / Jewish love towards Poles [389]

That's good to hear :0

cultural bias more than anti-Semitism, true. As I said, Poles don't think about Jews that much.

News / More and more jobs moving to Poland from other parts of Europe... [50]

Why do you blame Tusk, Greg? Surely it is private businesses who are being directly affected. What do you propose that Tusk does? I'm not saying he isn't blameless, I'm just curious to know why you apportion the blame on him.

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

Well, they are allowed to move freely in the EU. Simple. If many other EU nationals chose to make Poland their habitual residence, why should Poland resist this? The EU is predicated on ideas such as the free movement of people.

Well, that's true as well. However, as long as they can accept that multiculturalism may land on their doorstep, then that's fine.

Many Poles see it, BW. That's why they leave. The ones who don't have to grin and bear it. It's a joke, I can smell BS a mile off and they are just giving themselves work to do by churning out paperwork for its own sake.

We'll soon get paperwork so we can write down our breaths per minute and notify the authorities who will then look for more paperwork.

UK, Ireland / Catholic church experience for Poles in England [22]

This will help to show how cultural compatibility.

Going to Church in the UK - Polish people attendance at Masses in Britain

Does the language barrier put some Poles of going to church when they only have access to a English mass and confession? Many churches in my area have performed mass at least once in Polish - Do Poles feel enough is being done to encourage them to attend.

No,it certainly doesn't.

A note on the side: There's a good pocket sized book sold at the Catholic shop next to Westminster Cathedral (near Victoria) This provides a full translation.

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

That's fair game. Religion is not that big of a deal like it is with Sharia Law. No cultural issues, true enough. Britain is like the temporary cash cow, that's about the extent of the cultural involvement.

Skin itself is the problem on many occasions. Do you really think that someone sits with a pen and paper and works out the ethnic roots of individuals? Or do they just say, 'wow, he's black, let's beat him guys'? I have heard people here call Frenchmen niggers. They were looking at a picture of the French football team. People richer than them and not pure Africans as so many attack.

Shelley was right on the mark with that one. We helped to bring about those conditions. Poland has never really experienced multiculturalism as Britain has.

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

Actually, after doing some checking, Poland is not as racist as many other nations. That would seem to be true. Rather surprisingly, Denmark ranked rather highly. Many other countries ranked ahead of Poland. For example, Germany, Spain, the UK and Italy being just four.

Still, you have to ask yourself who compiles these things.

As I have said elsewhere, Britain did their utmost to stamp out racists at football grounds. When you consider how many people attend football matches across Britain, it's no small task.

Thierry Henry worked wonders. There are many racists at football grounds here.

Food / Chicken Pierogi HELP??? [29]

Pgtx back with an edge, I like it :)

It's better than stuffing it with friggin cabbage all the time. Succulent diced chicken would go down well if a little fricasse sauce was thrown in. Gently warmed, very good :)

USA, Canada / Polish Vodkas for American Pub [49]

Hey there pgtx, good to see you back :)

Sledz, Vodkania ia a cool name. Like a mix of vodka and spotkania. It's quite short and catchy. I'd go to a pub named that no problem.

Pan Tadeusz, yes, perhaps the best vodka I have tasted here. Very smooth compared to the harshness of others.

News / Polish engineer beheaded in Pakistan. [347]

Well, vast sums of money have been bandied about. The Polish government, at least last week, were taking this seriously.
