History / What was Polands greatest historical moment? [24]

I'll go from left field and say the ratification of the Nihil Novi Statute (1505). The implications were earthshaking to the politico legal direction of Poland, and this Act was simply a revelation of the time when you think about it.

This trend lead to destruction of Commonwealth.

Life / How do Poles feel about non whites/non Slavs living in Poland? [150]

PS: I always found it odd that Mexicans aren't considered white. They look quite white to me.

This is mostly because plenty of American 'white Protestants' are obsessed about Mexican immigration and always tend to depreciate their culture. Some of them even claim that Catholic church conspire to let more Mexicans to the US. They are insane.

Yeah, that is funny. My g/f (or ex-, don't know anymore) actually stated that Poland was part of Western Europe :)

Either she miss the point or you don't understand her point. This is not about geographical location. Various civilization scientists often argue about affiliation of different nations to different civilizations. However all of them (all I know about) consider Poles to be part of western civilization.

Brzezinski, what a cretin and a creep. To me, he has no Polish blood. He is a neo-con hawk and loser.

If anything, he is a hawk of Democratic Party.

That is the position of a 1995 UNESCO statement on race.

They should ask children in primary schools (children of all races) whether they are able to distinguish people of different races.

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

Nope. It's because of fascist and later communist plan to exterminate all minorities living in Poland.

I could argue

In our greatest time about 50% of people living in Poland were not Polish, there was huge immigration from Scotland, France, Russia and muslim countries.

What was possible under monarchic system is hardly possible after age of Enlightenment.

black people, white people, brown people, yellow people, violet people, indigo people, red people, orange people, purple people, wheatish people, olive people, technicolored people.... come.

Only if they already became part of western civilization. Otherwise, this is dangerous utopia.

I am an Irish Catholic and a republican. It pleases me to see the number of Poles heading home, it's better you are with your families in Poland than living in a country in a recession with no work, than sitting over here taking taxpayers benefits and enjoying our welfare system.

Unlike some posters here I see that you have good opinion about Polish workers.

He told me some stories about racist attacks i tell ya. i felt so sorry for him i gave him 200 PLN.

You are hell of materialist! :))

coming from a multicultural country, i have to say it is very very over rated. There are so many things wrong with pushing that agenda that i have no idea where to start. Poland doesn't need boatloads of somalis, rwandans chinese or indonesians. It's time people within a country focus on their countrymen and women first before undergoing the multiculturalism experiment.

Well said, immigration is good when people come from civilizationally close countries and aren't offered social welfare.

History / Poland and Lithuania [161]

Perhaps they should look at Belgium and how its population is mixed French and Dutch, yet maintains its distinction.

Actually a lot of Flemish would love either Flemish state or join Netherlands. This is completely artificial state, two societies without much of contact. I have heard from few Flemish that only one thing keep Belgium united, this is king of Belgium.

Ha ha ha ha, there was a E.U. funded bus to educate people about equality for other people and they planned to raise the rainbow gay flag in Vilnius but there was strong objection and they were not allowed to do anything and practically run out of the country

So the people educated the EU in the end, free of charge!

"Polish Election Action in Lithuania"

Often democracy really fail in ethnically diverse states. For sure Lithuanian nationalism was strong in the beginning. Thus Polish minority still vote for national party. Politically they are really behind the times. The same about German minority in Poland.

History / Polish Anti-semitism - origins? [186]

However, Dmowski knew that Zionism was just a charade, masquerading as sth other than what it stood for. It disguised its true agenda which was global domination. On this point, senior Rabbis agreed with him.

Dmowski was aware of scale of Jewish influences, however he warned many when they used to overestimate this factor.

Backing up Sokrates's contention of collaboration, Dmowski wrote that the Jews sided with the Germans to plot against the Poles.

Rather about Jews whom mostly preferred German state over possible Polish statehood. So, his considered the Jews to be pro-Germanic, anti-Polish and anti-Russian force.

Our idiotic PM at that time, Lloyd George, merely fuelled Dmowski's ambitious plans.

He had some influential Jewish advisor Lewis Namier originally from Polish Galicia. This guy was not very enthusiastic about Polish independence.

He strove to recreate the Piast dynasty with relative homogeneity.

He was not a monarchist, declared support for democracy. National movements at that time were generally opposed to monarchy.

I think it was Dmowski who once started a speech with the point that the Jews killed Jesus Christ. Pretty inflamatory but open to debate. Interesting man.

That is of course a bit demagoguery claim for political purpose. This is impossible to united people (voters) making reasonable claims, thus politicians of course must be populist to be elected.

Well, Christ was killed by Romans because some Judaist Jews demanded it to happen. Some other Jews at that time were his students and become the first Christians. Obviously future generation of Jews hold no responsibility for this crime.

You can read in Bible St Peter forming such accusation, while he was a Jew himself. Some people love to comment about such quotes out of context.

History / Polish Anti-semitism - origins? [186]

But I can say for sure that the origins of Polish anti-Semitism we're not in the WW II. Read about Roman Dmowski for instance.

Picture of Dmowski is always distracted by his political opponents. Read Dmowski himself instead something about him.

News / Poles honour 'Cold Warrior' Ronald Reagan [92]

I have quite good opinion especially about 'early America' and traditional platform of the Republican party. By no way neocons should be considered rightist. In Poland only political platform of UPR would be interesting, however this is minor party without much of chance to even be represented in our parliament. By the way, they currently negotiate with Ganley.

American and European politics are more and more leftist. Neocons run GOP and so called Polish mainstream right is mentally very socialistic. For example media label PiS to be rightist, while president Kaczynski claim himself to be leftist. Recently he nominated knew economic advisor, Ryszard Bugaj who is a very honest person (and very incompetent as far as economy is concentrated), former member of leftist UP party. Should I add anything?

Republican votes treat him like a legend. I did not have much contact with Democrats. Anyway, those who blame him for being senile in first place are part of major group of democratic votes. I mean voters that are unable to think in political categories, thus they form their objections on personal feelings.

News / Poles honour 'Cold Warrior' Ronald Reagan [92]

He isn't known for his commitment to the concept of social justice. He was accused of ignoring AIDS and supplying blacks in the US with crack.

That is funny. Do you think that many blacks would vote on him today if they only could?

News / Poles honour 'Cold Warrior' Ronald Reagan [92]

I did not anything detailed about his views, however usually mentioned aside is portrayed as liberal-conservative. So, I guess that he valued traditional justice in opposition to so called social justice. He seemed to be exceptional politician in comparison with the rest of this corrupt and opportunistic crowd. Thus some many in the US and not only have a sentiment to him.

Generally the US was established by rejection of monarchy. People who came to America had good work ethic and were mainly Christian, so they valued personalism and thus traditional concept of justice. They were positive about building their new country.

Something different happened in France. French revolution destroyed this society. They removed monarchy but could not offer anything positive in its place. They created this false concept of social justice, those people whom think that deserve everything for free. It lead them to genocide, while in longer run French national identify was intellectually raped. We see those people striking all the time, their quest for cosmic concept of social justice will never end, because this is utopia. They should stick to these three axiomatic points from article that you provided.

News / Poles honour 'Cold Warrior' Ronald Reagan [92]

Well, justice in the West has been found wanting on MANY occasions. I still have books on my shelf concerning miscarriages of justice, care to read them? Justice wasn't given to blacks for a long time. Is it just to invade other countries, transgressing national boundaries and sovereignty? Internment was just? (detention without trial). That's intellectual strength, is it?

What is western civilization? Nothing else than Christianized Greek and Roman philosophy. The concept of justice developed steadily and under influence of the Catholic Church reached to its final form. According to Samuel Huntingdon currently we witness collapse of the western civilization, I agree with him. Thus we see many people questioning established concept of justice in some areas. However nearly all of them still stick to this final concept of justice of western civilization in vast majority of issues.

Please take into consideration the fact that those people whom organized this proceeder (slavery) knew very well that their action is totally unjust. Vast majority of ordinary criminals is aware of that as well.

False, lesser?

Interesting article. General people should abstain personal revenge in such cases. Criminals did not respect law and this is the state that should punish them. If we allow ordinary people to act like Clytemnestra this decision will lead us to anarchy.

Of course Clytemnestra could not count on objective court, so her behaviour is understandable. While parents of this killed girl behaved like perfect Christian, I understand that criminals apologized and they forgive. This is the state that failed, because those men deserved capital punishment. Something else is personal forgiveness and something else is respect of well written state laws.

You MUST read this, enthralling reading,A fantastic expose.

Yes, this article perfectly illustrate my point. Nothing to add.

First of all, I recognize superiority of western concept of justice. Thus I claim that concepts of justice created by other civilizations are false duo to their intellectual weakness.

Secondary, take a notice that your concept of social justice might theoretically contradict justice in traditional meaning even among people who belong to the same civilization. So this cannot be branch of justice, otherwise contradiction would be impossible.

Of course there are native westerns who have seriously flawed concept of traditional justice. In their opinion justice must be on their side only, no matter what they would figure out. However those responsible members of the society don't tolerate such views.

My point is that there are different classifications of justice: market justice, criminal justice etc etc

This is pretty artificial to make such distinctions. Justice is justice. :)

However above mentioned example concentrate on individual as well.

Ordinary, or natural justice focusses more on the rights of the individual relative to existing law and prevailing circumstances/political climate etc.

Social justice is focussed more on the collective.

You know that I'm very harsh speaking about collectivism, source of nearly every totalitarian ideology. This is great intellectual mistake to think in collective categories.

Anyway, if we accept that justice in traditional sense focus on person then something strange appears... Because your understanding suggest that social justice might contradict traditional justice concentrated on person. We must agree that society consist of individuals. One kind of justice for individual and second for the same person who is part of society. This concept is flawed. :)

Same for the occupation which I bet at the time wasn't considered an occupation by many people and for some especially after WW2 it was liberation.

Especially for the communist Jews and their ideological brothers of other ethnicities.

Life / NANNY STATE in POLANd vs RABBLE? [25]

I don't think so. I know for sure that RCC will not rebuild its theology to gain few priests. It is up to Anglican clergy to abandon old mistakes. If the get a bit of treatment of Catholic Eastern churches then this is absolutely enough IMO.

Life / NANNY STATE in POLANd vs RABBLE? [25]

And right-wing Christians like Bush are morally upstanding citizens, paragons of virtue?

Bush is not a Christian, just a hypocrite like vast majority of politicians who claim to be religious.

It is but a minor influence.

I know and I say that this is a problem. Anglican church should rejoin RCC.

Life / NANNY STATE in POLANd vs RABBLE? [25]

Media controlled by left-wing ideologues spread anti-Christian messages, reject Christian ethic and morality. To some extend we see effects in everyday life. Small children in Poland are definitely more arrogant than during communist period. This is because their parents were themselves influenced by media and today they abandoned their role. My cousin who lived few years in Portsmouth says that in comparison with English children, those in Poland are true angels. Anglican church pretty don't exist in this society.

History / The only successful Polish Rising - 1918/19, Wielkopolska [13]

Rising was organized by sane people when proper moment came. You can win much if romantic delusion is rejected. According to the art of war, one should never start a war that hardly could be victorious. Polish elites often forget about this rule and sacrificed life of many Poles without any sense.

News / Is the E.U. good for Poland?? [180]

From the link above.

Firstly, the political classes, the people who actually negotiate and campaign for accession, have a lot to gain. In the case of Poland, the largest accession country, it is expected that well over a thousand Poles will get highly paid jobs in Brussels, frequently on ten times the salary they could get at home. These are the same people who lead the campaign to join, so it's not hard to understand their motivation.

They are full of happiness. Imagine that some time ago they tried to convince Polish public opinion that we need to back their efforts of gaining more posts in EU institutions.

Ironically, the tiny "No" campaign in Estonia has been accused of "being funded by foreign money", despite the fact that the Yes campaign has received at least twenty times as much money, and their money is equally foreign - it comes from Brussels!

The same in Ireland recently.

I saw it myself in Jogeva, a small town in Estonia, on August 24th. I was there to see the European Commission's Campaign Bus for the Estonian referendum (which takes place on Sept 14th). They were distributing handfuls of tendentious propaganda, and a particularly egregious example caught my eye.

It was in the form of a glossy post-card, featuring a smiling male model.

The caption read "Vote YES for sexier men!". It argued that in the EU, men on average drink less and live longer than Estonian men, and therefore Estonian men would become more sexy if Estonia voted YES.

I have posted in this forum very similar posters realised in Ireland before referendum. Typical way how Eurocrats want to convince smart voters.

A German diplomat made a speech from the bus calling for a YES vote, and I reminded him in no uncertain terms that his direct interference in an internal Estonian political debate constituted a serious breach of Article 55.1 of the Vienna Convention.

He tried to justify his behaviour by claiming that this clear and overt campaigning in the referendum campaign was "Promotion of German Culture", although, bizarrely, the jazz band supporting the event had played "Land of Hope and Glory", and not the Beethoven/EU "National Anthem".

LOL!!! German diplomat have specific sense of humour.

News / EU constitution: 'Strong show' for Irish No vote ? [126]

People should vote on such matters that they are able understand. This is clearly regional politics where distance between ruling elites and people is small. While government should have very limited competences (defence, foreign policy), should be nearly excluded from the regional politics.

The EU was created by people with certain views (leftist elitists) that wont let others to change general directions. I don't believe that the EU could be reformed (unlike president Klaus), thus my opposition. Eurocrats want to build an empire (according to Barroso words) while I think that empires are good only for ruling establishment and not for the people in general. Soviet Union was an empire as well.

While I stand for regionalism, more autonomy from central government, Brussels pushing pan-European centralization of power. While I want to offer people in regions an opportunity to run their life, Brussels building their centrally planned Animal Farm.

I woud really like to know how and why, the other 26 countries in EU could not vote?

I have hear several times that this would be too much of risk to let people to vote. Pure democrats claim so. :) They are so influential because people in general don't care about democracy, this forum might be good example. How many posters share your views? Five fingers would be enough to count all of them.

News / What you think about the Polish President, Kaczynski? [53]

What is missing in this thread is some girl claiming that she support Tusk because he is 'cute'. :)

What radical steps? They did nothing because their purpose is to always chase rabbit (verbally) but never to catch him. This is interest of their party.
