USA, Canada / The things Polish people do in the US [46]

I'm not Polish, and I open boxes to see what I'm buying, but only the kind that can be closed again like Polska mentioned, and yes I inspect my eggs too. I also open shampoo or soap bottles and squeeze it slightly to push the air out and get a whiff of what it smells like. One time though I did squeeze it a little too hard and ended up with shampoo on my nose. ;-)

Doesn't everyone check the eggs? :)
I like to smell shampoo too! :)

News / Nazism in Poland - A recipe for mass suicide? [176]

In realty, its the germans like you (and there are great many of them) who are whining indignantly - whining vitriolic historical lies and hoping they will get away wth that because they are strong.

And when you say "like you" to whom are you referring? ;)

What is meant here by attention-seeking?

Aha! You're here! Actually I have thought about that some more, and I have changed my mind somewhat about the attention seeking part. I think when you attack it may have more to do with disarming your opponent......putting them off balance.

Puzzly, you get back here this instant! I've been waiting to talk to you! :)

News / Nazism in Poland - A recipe for mass suicide? [176]

have pointed this out.. hes got a pattern folks

I know....cause I watched him do this with you too. He sees where a person's "buttons" are and then pushes them to get you off balance. He even tried to do this with me once.....but I wouldn't take the bait. I like to stay on center. He's very sneaky that way.

But it gets very confusing to the other posters....because they don't follow closely enough to see the dynamic behind the exchange of words.

I like a good debate. I learn something every time. Even about myself. But when Puzzy starts to light the fireworks.....people just get hurt and upset. :(

do, but you try explaining that to BB

But it has taken many others a long time to see this.
And it is really hard for Bratski to stand by and accept all the rubbish Puzz hurls at him.

as with any human who defends their country.. geese where have I heard this
before??

SG.. thanks :)

Your welcom, Sis.
But I think about what you and Miranda have been through....and at some point the only thing you can do is walk away from him.....cause it's not a fair fight. And it not that I don't like Puzzly, cause I do, I feel like he can't help himself. But I also thinks he feeds on attention....negative or positive. And he gets fed a lot here.

I just don't like seeing the people I care about getting tossed about on these threads. If it could be a evenly represented, fair debate with useful information.....it would be helpful. But this topic won't get that kind of treatment in the current environment. That's why I said what I did when this thread began........

There are neo nazis everywhere. Put the term in google for forums and they pop up everywhere. The term came out of post war France to denote any people who shared similiar ideology to the orignal Nazi party. It is used today to refer to a wide range of groups with different agendas....from white supremists, to football hooligans or even to refer to overzealous moderation of forums "board nazi" or "nazi mod". The term has a life of its own now. Hell, I even called my ex the "media nazi" cause I never got a chance to play any movie or cd of my choice in the house. He controlled it all. Seinfeld had the famous "Soup Nazi"....."no soup for you!".

whatever.....

Question about Europe in general: Is air conditioning found anywhere?
If not, I must never go there except in winter.

Ogorek, it sounds like you are referring to "groupthink". I have mentioned this before somewhere.....

"Groupthink is a type of thought exhibited by group members who try to minimize conflict and reach consensus without critically testing, analyzing, and evaluating ideas. During Groupthink, members of the group avoid promoting viewpoints outside the comfort zone of consensus thinking."

wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink

This is also what contributed to the NASA space shuttle failure involving the faulty O-Rings. Everybody on the team knew there was trouble with the O-rings. But the higher officials were under a lot of pressure to move the project forward, and costs mounted daily. One guy spoke up and suggested the launch be scrapped. There was a lot of tension and pressure, so the team member defaulted to the pressure, and went ahead with the project....hoipng everything would turn out ok. :(

My point is that the "lone voice" in the group can be the critical factor in avoiding mayhem later on. I don't know if that is the role that Poland was playing with the vote system, cause I don't understand it completely. My point is, that I see what Ogorek is talking about.....this is a real phenomenon......and I have seen it personally at work in a team (in my case I was the "lone voice" and nearly got the sh!t kicked out of me for disagreeing with everyone else (they called a vote on whether to cast me out of the group-we ended up calling in an arbitrator), and later when it was revealed that I was right and they were wrong, they were amazingly silent....and I was livid!). If you ever have the opp to experience this dynamic for yourself....you will not soon forget it. :)
