Feedback / Why do people post on polish forums [27]

I'm just bored. Where I am people are mostly braindead so it's hard to find anyone interesting to talk to.

USA, Canada / POLAND -- A RETIREMENT HAVEN FOR POL-AMS? [30]

american society

Have you ever been to the US. Once people come here they usually don't want to leave.

Isn't the USA the worst hitten by reccession?

Where I am is pretty good. It's worse in other areas. Depends on where you live and who you know...

hong kong,

Isn't Hong Kong one of the most polluted places in the world?

UK, Ireland / Irish Primary schools to teach Polish [223]

As China is a growing economy, it would be more beneficial for Irish children to learn Chinese than Polish.

Only if they plan to go there but who wants to live in China because it's polluted and over populated? Just because their economy is growing doesn't mean it's a fun place to live and people will end up moving there.

Polish children would more likely use the Polish language later on, not Chinese.

News / FEINSTEIN NEW us AMBASSADOR TO POLAND [47]

In some cases, correct, but this one is more because of his resume. He was in charge of security for Hillary Rodham during the campaign...

Why Chinese? What makes you think they want to learn that? Are they Asian? Are you insinuating we will all be beholding to the Chinese some day? Not when we make our own cars again.

News / New York Post : "Polish" Death Camps and more [278]

one can get an impression that some Polish Nazis participated in the Holocaust which is not true.

I meant using Nazi with the name of the camp without the name Poland. Calling them Polish is very recent. Before they were always refered to as Nazi camps.

In that particular article, the author should have used the term: nazi camp. If the Nazis run the camp put the name Nazi on it so people will not be confused. Leave geographical names off.

News / FEINSTEIN NEW us AMBASSADOR TO POLAND [47]

I don't think so BB, not in this case, because Feinstein isn't just any nominee. He is far more qualified than some. I don't think he's there just because he bought his way in. Must be some sort of strategic thing in the works.

News / FEINSTEIN NEW us AMBASSADOR TO POLAND [47]

I know its shame you would expect an American with Polish heritage, considering America has a lot of people of Polish heritage. I would love to eventually become Ambassador to Poland but to become one you need connections. I guess Feinstein has connections.

Yeah, he's a well connected, super educated defense department dude. Judging by this nomination, in the future, it's not going to be easy to get this job unless you have major qualifications. This could be precedence setting.

News / Liga Polskich Rodzin- A worthy option? [56]

Ever so mystifying, filios, haha
Seanus, you confused me with all that pro abortion talk. They aren't liberal at all...quite the opposite. They are hardliners from the right, for sure.

legalization of abortion,

LPR opposes it. That's one part that doesn't fit the liberal agenda...So, Seanus, it's easy to see why you would think they want to legalize it ;)

News / Liga Polskich Rodzin- A worthy option? [56]

Seanus, like MJ, the face of NATO will undergo a plastic surgery option. In the near future it won't be so much an anti Russian entity but more a militant controllant factor. It will police places with militaries striking only when they invade one another. It's purpose will be responding to aggressors and protecting pacificist states from their antics.

These new (future) aggressors will be Chinese and Arabs.

Poland is in the EU now, NATO too. Where will the threat come from?

As soon as we get Russia to join NATO maybe the only threat will be China and in Asia...

RevokeNice, I am sure the Poles are paying their taxes and contributing too. So what's the big deal about Polish language option in the schools?

UK, Ireland / Irish Primary schools to teach Polish [223]

I oppose this.

There's no reason to oppose it. Looks like your Education Minister is meeting the needs of the people. I think it's good they offer so many choices. Where I live choice is obsolete unless you want to pay for a private school and even then there's not a lot of choice, either.

Life / Why build a supermarket with 20 checkouts with only 3 till staff? [46]

It might be because there's a standard franchise plan for each location...it follows the same blueprints so every store owned by that franchise has to have a certain number of check out stands. Since amount of customers vary most locations cannot afford to hire that many cashiers to work at the same time so they budget in two or three, maybe a few more. They don't want so many cashiers that some stand around and do nothing while getting paid because there aren't that many customers in the store.

Life / why do People in Poland speak so quietly? [23]

Yes, it's called common courtesy. Don't you just hate it when someone in the room is yakking loudly?

They do that on cell phones, sometimes. In the US it's considered incredibly rude to talk on a cell phone in public or while driving tho people do it all the time.

When do you need to have cash when you're driving?

You drive by the ATM and get money and go spend it someplace else. Your destination might not have an ATM or maybe one that charges while the drive thru one doesn't cost anything, especially if it's the bank you have an account at. It's a matter of convenience and not going into one more place or searching for an ATM at a place you've never been to before.
